Great video mate. Congratulations. A question please: Running the DBAN program with the command Autonuke typed, shall I unplug the USB flash card? Cheers.
If we copy all necessary data on other new hard drive from the harddrive we want to clean data through dban to clean the deleted data . In the new drive ,do it go deleted data too ?? Plz rpy .
Great tutorial. I have done this method with other machines to recycle using a USB drive, but now i'm trying this with an old machine with XP on it, and it will not boot to any other drive than the hard drive that the OS is on. I've tried disabling drives and there is no secure boot or UEFI options in the BIOS. If anyone has any information that will help, that would be greatly appreciated.
I am late and it is done by now. I have a T520 Theinkpad on which I overfilled the harddisk. Although I had installed once Linux Mint from USB it now shortly checked and then stared from C: anyway - althought I had said in BIOS: Startsequenz USB and then harddisk. I listened then to an installation video and there Sean mentioned, that there is another - well how to say - Bootsequenz. So with Start I pressed F1 to enter BIOS - this I had done X times, now I pressed F12 and another page came with another Bootsequenz and as I here as well I changed to "USB first". And then the Thinkpad started from USB. Do not answer, i do not use goggle notifications, would not see it. 🙂
Yes - as long as you have a Windows 7 install disk. If you don't, Microsoft offers them for download: www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7
Skip to 2:12 . Really appreciate the video. The only video out there that makes any sense
Just a heads up, the Gutmann Wipe takes up to 350 hours using a usb 2.0 drive wiping a 1tb disk.
Thanks for the heads up mate. Nevertheless, I performed Guttmann wipe on 1TB HDD using USB 3.0 drive and it took around 130 hrs.

I followed every single step and it never brought up the dban blue screen when restarting. Booting from USB but PC acts as if I'm not ......
Disable :secure boot in BIOS
is it possible to reinstall Windows 7 even if I didn't do a back up before using DBAN? Thanks
