New Zealand is spectacular! And Milford Sound on the South Island does not disappoint! I would go back to New Zealand in a NYC minute if I could . New Zealand will take your breath away with its scenery and the people are lovely as well! Make sure to visit both islands -- the topography is a bit different on either island and it is well worth the extra time!
@@okayimbackwhateverjones Yes you can,but you would need a thick wetsuit, the water is very cold, even in summer, and it's up to a Mike deep in some of those areas. The top 3 inches of water is fresh as well.
I've been lucky enough to visit Milford Sound twice and got to experience it in perfect sunshine and on one of Milford's typical rainy days and I gotta say it's better when it's raining because all the waterfalls come to life.
Great promotional video for one of the most amazing places in NZ. Well done team. Only thing I might tweak would be the title. Since I'm assuming you were either driven or flew into Milford Sound, and didn't arrive from the sea by boat, might it not be technically more accurate to say that: "Robin Roberts takes a boat trip on New Zealand's Milford Sound"? To say that Robin takes a boat trip to Milford Sound implies, to me, that she arrived by ship from a major port somewhere. But otherwise beautifully done :)
When hunting there, the only way in is-by boat or boat plane/chopper. At night it's pitch black in the forests, so dark can't see your hand in front of you. Nothing moves or makes a sound in the trees. Very disconcerting. Strange noises. Deep growls Dogs backed up against the tree. Torches and firelight make more shadows on a wall of solid green/wood/earth. Guns pointing outwards. Eerie footprints/tracks marks in the morning. Caves everywhere. A creature could survive in the Fiordland and not be seen for centuries if nocturnal, the few people would not be believed by the many not being down there before at night.
Anyone viewing this please know that many big cruise ships can't enter Fiordland right now because of issues with barnicles and other foreign matter growing on the cruise ships hulls when they were not in use for 2 years during COVID.......There is at least 12 cruise ships that can't enter Fiordland even though their itenery still shows it........Just be aware of this.
A lot of big budget to small budget movies were filmed in NZ because they have advanced film making studios that are capable of producing world class quality movies just like hollywood studios, avatar way of water, mission impossible fall-out, xmas wolverine, the last samurai, and of course LOTR and the hobbits, etc , and small budget movie like m3gan, were produced in New Zealand

My chan currently focuses on the topography of both islands. South is my fav but north is special too.
It brings a tear to your eye how breathtaking some of these shots are
4:24 I thought it was the negative ions
Can you swim in that? Also I feel like it would be even better in the rain, maybe not for the cameras but for the aesthetic experience

Yeah it's awesome in the rain because the slopes are full of temporary waterfalls - looks like the mountains are crying.
Welcome Robin!!💖🙋🏼♀️💫🌻
It was Mark Twain who called Milford Sound the 8th wonder of the world.
Even just the drive there is amazing...
New Zealand is the best english speaking nation. Beautiful. I would for sure retire there
May you have pockets deep enough for this 👍
Reminds me of the fjords of Norway tour that I took on a boat as well!
NZ reminds me of Switzerland when I was there...

Did she say 200 feet of rain?? you don't need a raincoat, you need a submarine.
Adjectives about Auckland's rain this last week?
Wet 🌧
Entree
What's Auckland got to do with this???
@@johnpaki1534 you didn't watch the video...did you?

Milford Sound is the only stunning place to see and explore in New Zealand. 😍
It is said to be the 8th wonder of the world...
There are other hidden treasure in NZ just gotta ask the locals around NZ
Oh no, an English/Aussie/Kiwi guide?🌞👍
I was thinking the same, not much of a Kiwi accent spoken there.
I'm ok with ex pats settling in A-NZ and willing to promote the community and industries where they work. They appeared knowledgeable too...
Maia is definitely a KIWI!
Europeans renaming places they don't own. They should go back to the original Maori names.
Lots of places have maori names or dual names
Yes , at least a Maori name has a meaning.
English names are just some forgotten dead British aristocrat
Maori don’t own it either, they weren’t the first here
Maori didn't even have a written language before European arrived genius.
