One of the things I love about your content, and which differs from other RUclipsrs, is that you don’t solely rely on the base content to build up your video. What I mean is that, you are so entertaining and charming when you talk about whatever the content is, that I don’t want to skip anything because I might miss something hilariously relatable while you’re showing us a vase or a piece of art. So, while I’m interested in learning about the decor, I’m also invested in your personality and unique point of view. Thank you❤

Comments on Caroline's videos sit at a different level, don't they? Have you ever read so many thoughtful, engaging notes that just say "This is good. Really good. This makes me happier than I was before. Don't stop doing this. PS Can I be your friend?" The sincerity and genuine connection is just here in a different way. Can we all be friends?

I could listen for hours to you explaining the ways in which you approach home improvement, all the while fumbling with your camera and babbling on about life, decor, and making weird eye contact with our neighbours. You've just got a way of editing that makes your video's so engaging. I don't know how to explain this, but your vlogs feel like you are talking to a friend, like other vloggers who talk with the person filming. But you are able to engage with viewers in that same real way. Quite the skill!

Don’t replace the beautiful sofa, find a beautiful fabric foot stool at the same height, that’s what I did and I am so happy with it! Also gives the option for another visual layer of fabric texture or print, and can be used in another room if ever you moved, or as a coffee table with a tray, or extra seating for guests if needed!

We definitely had these backpack phases when I went to school in the late 90s/2000s. You started with a Scout, then as an older primary school/Gymnasium kid you updated to a 4You and after that it was Eastpacks or large cross-body bags. I miss my 4You the most, those really were good quality.

It's super difficult to Not decorate based on bargains/ budget, though.
Ideally, our homes are filled with beautiful pieces which we pick and choose based on our style.
Realistically, it's often more like : a friend gave you something for free and so you build a vibe around that thing that you enjoy.
Interestingly enough, setting immovable parameters are one of the best ways to keep focus and draw inspiration

I wouldn't change the mirror above the mantel, I feel the mirror paired with the pictures on either side is perfect! I think the only thing I would change is I would do wrap around banquette bench seating under the dining room windows, with a round table, and two chairs on the living room side of the table. The bench seating could have storage inside of it. For me the rectangle table feels very awkward in the space. I would choose to highlight the bay window. I've started receiving a lot of vintage pieces from family and your videos have helped me feel so much better about choosing to highlight the traditional style of these pieces and not hide them!

Yes! My husband and I are the "sentimentalists" of our families and we are now feeling overburdened by things we've kept out of perhaps misplaced nostalgia, guilt, etc. This weekend he announced he was ready to let go his great grandmother's haviland bone china... all 12 place settings. It's beautiful but so delicate, never gets used and takes up a lot of space. We want to figure out how to I'd qhay we really do love and figure out ways to repurpose them in fresh ways...

I never know what to expect from one of your videos and I love that. I was expecting something completely different from this video, but it was perfect in every way. Your design advice has been so helpful to me. I recently starting mixing a few modern pieces in with some sentimental items that belonged to my grandmother, mother, aunts, etc., and it has made such a big difference in the way my house looks. Everything was feeling way too old and dated and I wasn't enjoying any of these things at all and was considering just getting rid of them. Now it seems fresher and more updated around here and I'm starting to see how I can make some of them work. I still have a long way to go, but I just wanted to say thank you for this and all the other advice you offer.

Caroline, your fall decor is beautiful! And a wall lamp with a wooden shade is rather gorgeous. The whole room is very warm I full of personality. You are so right that ''seasonal decor'' should consist of something that eventually dies. I have also something that comes from something actually dead - like pheasant feathers on a small marble tray.

I've actually been in love with your couch for quite some time now, the deluxe velvet and color combination is *chef's kiss! I purchased my couch at West Elm during an impromptu online sale. It's a performance velvet fabric, which is very forgiving since I spill a lot. After 4 years of owning it, I found out it's a deep seat couch which adds to my upper back pain. If only, we could switch couches "I dream of genie" style.

Maybe a tall Snake plant because they’re so easy going and sculptural. I love the organic textures and shapes of plants. Especially when they start to arch for window light nearby. It also helps break up all the right angles in a room.

"Hot mess" is used to describe an individual who finds themselves in unfocused or chaotic situations. In some uses, a person described as a hot mess is attractive but just barely keeping it together". I had to look up the wiki definition of 'Hot Mess" And also the term "Bougie/bougee. Because I've never used these terms in conversation until now. So.. even though you can be something of a bougie hot mess. You have saving graces also. Number one, you have an attractive sense of humor and an easy laugh. and secondly, you are able to focus sharply on things when they're important to you. I think that you have good self awareness, so you know what your strengths and weaknesses are. Third, even when you're just hanging out at home, you still look cute. You're aesthetically pleasing. Bonus points for your physical fitness. It's a compact, tight little unit. Which is a good thing. Very good. this is my honest opinion based only on what I see in your videos. And offered because we'll never meet each other in real life. for what it's worth. Good luck with 'street man" Any man would be lucky to have you as a girlfriend.

I do have new pieces that I obsess over trying to keep them looking new (dining table, china cabinet, bed, and dresser) , so it is a relief to have other pieces that come with "character" so I don't stress if they get a scratch or nick.

Just got my “Caroline Fix” So glad to see you love the old with the new…traditional and contemporary/modern. I alway liked this combination and this way of decorating. Lately, I’ve been having the uneasy feeling that I was just “old fashion” and was not with it anymore cause of how I decorate….then you came along and wow’d this style…lots of character. I feel like I can continue to decorate with what makes me happy! Yes, a vase from Anthro with potted Flowers makes my world happy….thrifted candlesticks which I’m currently looking for, although have my eye on Anthropology ones I’ve seen!! I’m not the only one who loves a good looking sample of gorgeous wallpaper to frame! So what I’m trying to say is that how I decorate and put my spin on things is validated by you!!! Now I can stop asking people what they think. Always look forward to what your doing next. Question: I know white wall are in & gorgeous, but I did a pretty taupe/beige thruout my home with white. Sounds gross but very warm and cozy feel…it’s a Georgian colonial so keeping with its style…more fireplaces the better. Hopefully it’s not dating me? (here I go again)

A potted plant used for decor is genius, because near the end of the season, when you’re beginning to redecorate, you can take the plant as a hostess gift to a friend’s house. No storage problem, and it doesn’t need to die! This works best if it’s a friend with a patio or yard, so it can go right into the ground after they enjoy it for a couple of weeks inside.
The way you put your long table in that tripartite window area is also genius. I learn a few things every time I watch your videos. Thanks- again!
