    Although oil changes are not the most difficult of maintenance jobs on this vehicle, the right procedures and quality products are important. I have never seen a more concise yet thorough video on this necessary maintenance item. Using very sharp and close video editing with appropriate notes instead of voice over, you make this maintenance task very easy to follow for anyone, regardless of language or skill level. Outstanding work, thank you.

      Only thing I could say to improve on this is that he should have filled the filter with oil before applying it.

    Dude, honestly this is the most detailed video of an oil change ive seen for this model specifically. Just wanted to see what I would get myself into and it looks rather easy! I really appreciate all the information such as changing the drain bolt washer and providing amazing angles to clearly see the work being done. Thank you sir!

    A really great, informative video. The only thing I would add is that before fitting the new filter, I always half to three quarters fill the oil filter with oil. It just get the oil round the engine that bit faster on restarting.

    Great vid - keep one of your old 5 quart jugs and use it for marking your 4.7 quarts or whatever required amount and use it going forward as your baseline standard. Gets rid of that messy 1 quart measuring cup. Thanks for posting.

    I usually remove the old oil filter first since there will be no oil in the pan. Here in So California where summers are very hot I use 0W30 oil instead. 20 weight is too liquid in our hot weather. Never had engine trouble in all our 20 plus year old cars with the higher weight oil.

  • @shifty2755

    Good video. But, you should check the oil level AFTER you have first started and stopped the engine for a few seconds. Then check after a few minutes.

    Awesome video! Finally taking over on oil changes. Pops is getting to old to be under my car these days! Just curious - can you post the crush washer info? I just looked on amazon and didn't find washers that work for the 2015 model (only pre-2011 for some reason). Thank you for this awesome video!

    Good stuff. On dip stick there are 2 marks, (holes) manual says 1st hole is low level & upper level. It takes 5 quarts to fill engine w/ filter at top level on dip stick. Isn’t this okay? (5 quarts)

    Did you buy this car new and if ya did do you remember if under the engine did it have a plastic or aluminum cover covering the entire bottom of the engine? I bought my 2015 in 2018 used but it looked BRAND NEW with low miles on it. I didn't see a cover under there but I've seen videos of 2012 and 13,14 with covers and 17s with covers under the engine. Great video and thumbs up on it.👍

    • @msbrunell

      29 ft lbs (39 Nm). I have been using that value for over 25 years and never had a leak nor a stripped bolt. "Just say no" to higher values.

    • @msbrunell
      @msbrunell  5 лет назад +4

      Been using Quaker State for over 30 years. All good. My old 1996 Honda Civic took only Quaker State and got >600k miles and was still running fine when I donated the car to charity. But I will use any oil that is a good deal!

    I like changing the oil by mileage, not by computer percentages. Normal driving, no towing and no dirt roads, how often do you recommend changing the oil & filter in a 2015 CR-V Touring edition using full synthetic? Thanks.

    • @msbrunell
      @msbrunell  3 года назад +1

      That's a great question, however I have no idea. I just do what the computer tells me to do.

      10 to 15k. But more like 10 if it was my car.

    • @CC_Marauder

      Between every 3.5 and 5k. Engine longevity is enhanced with more fluid changes than the computer systems are programmed to show a need.

    • @msbrunell
      @msbrunell  4 года назад

      I would use a washer. You don't need a new one. You can reuse the old one for years.

    • @shifty2755
      @shifty2755 3 года назад +2

      You do need a washer. It's usually copper or very soft steel. The sump plug would leak otherwise. You don't have to change it every time but it is advisable.
