Love the game! Izzet pirates is super neat, but I still think Brass is the best pirate queen. She really got some spicy new toys to play with! Might have to make me a pirate deck soon...
Great game! It’s as excellent as always! Although, you may want to say “blow up” instead of “blow” when you are saying destroy because to blow something is a bit dirty :-) Keep up the great work!
For some reason, hovering the mouse on the video thumbnail just showed me "Winner:" with the winner of this game, even though that frame just appear at the end. Wtf RUclips.
@@SplitSecond - I wish I had known of this project a few months back when my brother was still with us! I know the two of us would have spent so much time duking it out with our paper decks and theorycrafts! My thanks for introducing me to this amazing gift to Magic lovers!

Well yeah, sometimes it's hard to showcase all the decks in the pod :/ we have a link in the description for Mons's cEDH TV decktech. Luís used his list. Basically the list revolves around copying splendid reclamation until you draw into thassas's oracle. Luís would like to have included the land Sunscorched desert that would allow him to win with splendid reclamation copies without TO.
We thought spoke about that (IG) on the final combat, but Luis felt it wasn't a very cEDH strategy since he was pretty much dead to table/board, so we decided against it
Malcolm reads: "(...)create a treasure token for EACH opponent dealt damage." So similar to Tymna, if you deal damage to 1 opponent you create 1 treashre, if you deal damage to 2 or 3 opponents, you create 2 or 3 treasures respectively. :)
>Coercive Recuriter is a strictly better Zealous Conscripts... You better take that back right now. ZC steals ANY permanent, meaning stax pieces that might prevent attacking, stealing a value enchantment or untapping your own Cradle to ramp. I've seen stupid good non-combo plays with Zealous that the pirate could never have done.
"stricktly better" was meant in the pirate scenario where even after doing its ETB he can add value with its attacks and triggers from his commanders. We do know there's some differences between the cards ;)
I'm sorry but when you first cast nevinyrral, he entered, then you sacrificed him and used his effect to blow the board you then created 7 zombies. How did you create them when your commander didn't come back to the battlefield? You wouldn't have made the zombies unless you brought him back after the boardwipe.
Basically, Sequeira held priority on the ETB trigger and sacrificed him, this way, when everything dies, the ETB trigger is still on the stack to be resolved and when it will resolve will see all the creatures that died at that moment.
Yeah, TO was a little bit bad design. Although there are cards that stop her it's still an easy combo to achieve hence "auto-include" in most UBx decks :(
I think you may be misremembering what Flash did to gameplay. Oracle can be used to win with very little mana. Flash won for less mana, on other peoples turns, the instant one too many people tapped their lands to do something else. It was cancer.
@@Hitzel i never said flash wasn't good. i said it got banned because it was dominating the format. that means it's really good. thassa's oracle is the number one wincon in the format by a mile and should also be banned.
Oracle +demonic consultation package needs to be avoided in your deckbuilding imo. I understand it is part of cdeh but for these episodes where you guys try to show the potential of the new cards from the latest set it gets quite underwhelming. Thnks for the content anyway
Yeah, I understand, and I avoided it with Nevinyrral. But sometimes it's hard to avoid it, like Baal's deck would've needed 10000 cards to go for the win, and Luis' deck was from Mons so it'd be kind of nasty to go "nope". To be fair, he could've tried to win in a much more convoluted way by looping the Sanctuary with Squandared resorces + Splendid Reclamation. . He just chose to tutor for consult so the winning was safer.
Well my point is that this haymaker outshines the strategy of a new commander that most of us are watching for the 1st time. It feels to me that we are not giving the chance for new strategies.
Some strategies just aren't good enough to shine in cEDH, and cutting effective win conditions to show them off will pull a deck further and further out of cEDH and into casual. I personally don't want to see that from them, I'd rather they build and play good decks.
We have several requests usually from Patrons, and our own wishes to playtest decks, so it is hard. But you can leave it in our discord server and if we can we may try to play it.
So is Luís and all of us, but doesn't unmake the fact that it's maybe the best win-con for cEDH decks running the colors. We try to show how new commanders can shine on a cEDH meta, and even this way most of the time TO is still the best option. Luís actually wanted to win through Splendid Reclamation but he noticed the decklist he was using wasn't able to do so as it lacked some other cards, and by then it was too late so he had to compromise to that line of play or simply stay out of the game.
@@SplitSecond best cedh combo agreed also the most boring cedh combo and the most easy way out cedh combo. And its totally understandable way to win in competitive level , but in friendly games or trying to present new decks cycling the same old combos just with diffrent commanders is boring. Sorry for that but that's the sad truth. Anyway keep up the good work on entertaining us. No hard feelings just my opinion
@@skatzoheros9 Would it really make that big a difference if that was some other 2-card combo but everything else was the same? For me after I watch almost a half hour of gameplay and pay close attention to all of the interactions and decision making, I don't dismiss it all because cards A+B put an end to it instead of of cards C+D. At that point it really doesn't matter what does it, the game was already won.
We do not like TO that much either, but that doesn't un-make the fact that it's one of the best wincons at the moment, specially in UBx decks. And when we try to build/play some high powered decks eventually TO will slip in "most of the time". But you'll be able to see through our matches that it's actually not that common as a win-con, which goes to show that we try to stay away from her most of the time :)
Thank you for the video. Please post more games with Nevinyrral.

There's an option in the settings under tab Appearance ;)
