My U.K AD . has been offering me a lot of these at retail just picked up a sub and am promised a Daytona too .. nothing out of the way purchase history have been a regular with them that is it .. wouldn’t even look at used watch market unless they are 30% below atleast

It is states many pre-owned watches are no re-appearing and you do not know what is going on? Lol There are more sellers than buyers. What does that say? Few people fall for the hype. Dealers have too much stock and do not want to buy pre-owned and too many are coming back and you are over-stocked. Prices are dropping and buyers have gone. Yes you get an odd collector here and there who has more money than sense. The market has burst. Simple as.
@@mappyman8271 I would disagree there is probably as many buyers as sellers, the issue is the sellers have priced their watches incorrectly for the current market. A lot of my friends don’t think my watches are even worth the current retail price.
I believe Charlie is better than most and gets some very nice up to date pieces; when the market softens further and if one of my desired pieces not not land at one of my AD's I would buy from him or Spencer, nobody else.

The No Date is far more versatile and the perfect daily, however, if you’re wanting something a little different with a bit of flair go for the Starbucks! What’s really blowing my mind is that the used Batman/girl are selling for about the same or more than a used Rootbeer. That’s almost $7000 over retail for the Batman/girl and only about $500 more, used, for the Rootbeer. What gives? Is Rolex pushing out more Rootbeers? My logic was always that there was more interest in the SS models because they were cheaper. The used market prices for the Batman disprove my theory.🤔 Are TT getting less popular? Rolex is really missing the boat up by over supplying TT watches that less people want and driving up the used prices for SS GMT’s. I know they’re selling everything they make but they could be selling a lot more SS GMT’s. Next thing you know Rolex is going to increase the Batman/girl towards grey prices to bring down the demand. Looks like us paying high grey prices in the long run will make it nigh impossible to buy a reasonably priced SS sport watch from Rolex. The market is dying slowly. Prices are still falling. No two tones should be over list. Full gold with a discount. SS with a max 30% over retail. Best bet is to be patient and get your watch at retail. I have gotten 2 sports model SS , Batman and sub date at retail in the past 3 years. Just wait

For everyone hating in the comments - you guys have to realize when GOOD open market dealers build a strong client base of customers you wont always get a chance to see a lot of these watches ever even make it to his website because they’re selling before the chance is even there. There are clients who request things with him like for example a freshly dated true new unworn fully stickered stainless steel Daytona with white dial.. if he doesn’t have that in stock as soon as he gets it in, its sold already and never would have made it to the website. I know a few guys over here in the states who do this for a living and they are not nearly the online presence as Charlie has but they’re still consistently selling. Anyway, great vid - I always enjoy the Sunday upload!

Maybe it’s just me… but it feels like the Bluesy is having a moment. Or maybe it’s coming back? Idk but I just see more enthusiasm for that model than I’ve seen since getting into the hobby.
What people also need to think about is that Gold is currently in a bull market, and it seems the gold is going to be the next big thing and prices will rocket for bullion. If you have gold in your watch the price could go to the moon gold will always edge your capital remember so if you like Gold watches buy them they will come good and protect your capital the steel clones are so good these days you dont need to go to the grey market just get gold models with authenticity

True, I know as I've been trying to buy another Rolex but I will not pay more than retail. I've managed to buy what I was after as a walk in with no purchase history with the AD in question. I'm now the proud owner of the Explorer II with a white dial I still wouldn't pay over retail no matter how much I want something.

The Bluesy is the LWC mascot!!! Charlie is always talking about it - and the Piccachu - which is the Charlie mascot. LOL! I also feel like Daytonas just are not as fetching as Submariners and GMTs anymore. Add to that the fact that Rolex has really stepped up their Yacht Master game, those are higher in demand than ever before. Daytonas may be a less desirable dinosaur moving forward. Definitely a watch with a very specific end user in the market. EDIT: I typed this before the video got to the Piccachu, LMBO!!!!!!!

AD near me got a 2 tone Skydweller in jubilee bracelet with black dial and I passed on it. Nice model but is $20,500 retail which I don’t think makes sense for that watch
Call me crazy, but there’s no way anyone will ever make me believe that a stainless steel is worth more than my precious metal two tone white dial 116523. And they both have the exact same 4130 movement. I will always choose first to spend that kind of cash on a classy two tone as a nice dress/casual watch…. A panda or an all stainless although beautiful pieces are everyday wear to work or whatever…. I have a nice sub date and an Omega seamaster 300m on rubber bracelet for those purposes.
Depends which blue you’re referring to, the ‘Tiffany’ is still in extremely high demand, while the dark blue dial is an entry level option and as such a far slower seller 🙌🏻

Don’t get me wrong a Rolex is a nice watch but it’s not worth paying 20k plus for a watch that rrp for 10 or 13k
Perhaps look it in the another way. IF you can afford it, why not pay a premium of £2000 - £3000 to be able to get the watch of your dreams immediately, rather than wait potentially 5 years to get it. Time is a much more valuable commodity than money. With Rolex's current price increase model, within 5 years, you will be paying close the same from the AD as you are paying today on the secondary market on most models. So paying over retail now, actually makes a lot of sense on very hard to find pieces!

Other people say „I would never pay over retail!“ and rather wait five years for their call while the price increased eight times and they pay the price they would have paid grey five years ago 🌚
I do not blame retailers who are slow to understand what is happening with the watch market's reality, but this silly "rolex rolex rolex" and "leveling out of the market" is sad.
Who wants to pay over retail for a watch , Rolex are trying to force up the prices by purposefully restricting them to people that the AD deems worthy of the brand. They will always be second class to the likes of AP and PP. Omega watches keep better time for instance, I don’t get the obsession.
I understand PP, they are clearly superior but also demand a very hefty price (not the same ballpark at all). On the other hand, AP is pure hype… they only have a worthy watch in their collection which is the RO, which is a beautiful watch (maybe one of the most beautiful ever made) but extremely overhyped and overpriced… I used to own a 37 mm RO and the movement is not even in-house and that thing scratched like hell, no micro adjustment… SS Rolexes are much cheaper in comparison, have way better materials, age much better and will always be desirable. 10 years ago nobody gave a damn about the RO. Omega is a different, story they are great watches but their collection is too overstuffed with models no one cares and they just don’t listen to their costumers (it’s about time they change that hideous bracelet on the Seamaster Diver 300). All in all, Rolex offer the best value for money and retention amongst the brands you cited, not even a discussion

Utterly stunning model, however, there’s very little appetite for it in the current market, like with most full gold pieces 🙌🏻
What people also need to think about is that Gold is currently in a bull market, and it seems the gold is going to be the next big thing and prices will rocket for bullion. If you have gold in your watch the price could go to the moon gold will always edge your capital remember so if you like Gold watches buy them they will come good and protect your capital the steel clones are so good these days you dont need to go to the grey market just get gold models with authenticity

True, I know as I've been trying to buy another Rolex but I will not pay more than retail. I've managed to buy what I was after as a walk in with no purchase history with the AD in question. I'm now the proud owner of the Explorer II with a white dial I still wouldn't pay over retail no matter how much I want something.

The Bluesy is the LWC mascot!!! Charlie is always talking about it - and the Piccachu - which is the Charlie mascot. LOL!
I also feel like Daytonas just are not as fetching as Submariners and GMTs anymore.
Add to that the fact that Rolex has really stepped up their Yacht Master game, those are higher in demand than ever before.
Daytonas may be a less desirable dinosaur moving forward. Definitely a watch with a very specific end user in the market.

In this time no one has time or money to waste on 10,15 or 20k. people bearly pay their rent or food and if any had any expendable income they will keep it for what is going to come in the future.
Luxury watches are not for people that pay rent. They are for people that don't have any debts or mortgages or car loans.

AD near me got a 2 tone Skydweller in jubilee bracelet with black dial and I passed on it. Nice model but is $20,500 retail which I don’t think makes sense for that watch

Yes so this one is quite a lot underlist for you to sell, so should be relatively easy to get from the AD 👍
Call me crazy, but there’s no way anyone will ever make me believe that a stainless steel is worth more than my precious metal two tone white dial 116523. And they both have the exact same 4130 movement. I will always choose first to spend that kind of cash on a classy two tone as a nice dress/casual watch…. A panda or an all stainless although beautiful pieces are everyday wear to work or whatever…. I have a nice sub date and an Omega seamaster 300m on rubber bracelet for those purposes.

Depends which blue you’re referring to, the ‘Tiffany’ is still in extremely high demand, while the dark blue dial is an entry level option and as such a far slower seller 🙌🏻

@@DanielDahl-i9p the real problem is there’s a tonne of them available but people are believing a lie that they are unobtainable or scarce , the second problem is the AD’s are selling directly to the grey market for better profits and it’s been happening for years. Don’t get me wrong a Rolex is a nice watch but it’s not worth paying 20k plus for a watch that rrp for 10 or 13k
Perhaps look it in the another way. IF you can afford it, why not pay a premium of £2000 - £3000 to be able to get the watch of your dreams immediately, rather than wait potentially 5 years to get it. Time is a much more valuable commodity than money. With Rolex's current price increase model, within 5 years, you will be paying close the same from the AD as you are paying today on the secondary market on most models. So paying over retail now, actually makes a lot of sense on very hard to find pieces!

@@markdance574 Well, I paid 14k for a 126710BLRO (current Pepsi) on Oyster and sold it for 17.5k after a year - while wearing it one year long! Other people say „I would never pay over retail!“ and rather wait five years for their call while the price increased eight times and they pay the price they would have paid grey five years ago 🌚
I do not blame retailers who are slow to understand what is happening with the watch market's reality, but this silly "rolex rolex rolex" and "leveling out of the market" is sad.
Who wants to pay over retail for a watch , Rolex are trying to force up the prices by purposefully restricting them to people that the AD deems worthy of the brand. They will always be second class to the likes of AP and PP. Omega watches keep better time for instance, I don’t get the obsession.
I understand PP, they are clearly superior but also demand a very hefty price (not the same ballpark at all). On the other hand, AP is pure hype… they only have a worthy watch in their collection which is the RO, which is a beautiful watch (maybe one of the most beautiful ever made) but extremely overhyped and overpriced… I used to own a 37 mm RO and the movement is not even in-house and that thing scratched like hell, no micro adjustment… SS Rolexes are much cheaper in comparison, have way better materials, age much better and will always be desirable. 10 years ago nobody gave a damn about the RO. Omega is a different, story they are great watches but their collection is too overstuffed with models no one cares and they just don’t listen to their costumers (it’s about time they change that hideous bracelet on the Seamaster Diver 300). All in all, Rolex offer the best value for money and retention amongst the brands you cited, not even a discussion
