Well... I came back here to enjoy the nostalgia but I didn't had the pleasure to know the information that Chris passed away... Fly high Chris and thank you for your art 🕊️
Spotify showed me this song a few days ago. I am so stunned by this and can not stop listening to it either. Never heard such a angel like voice that sets such a fascinating contrast to Bunnys scream-voice. I am so sad at the same time, i never get a chance to see this song live with Chris 😢 At least, all his songs he created, is what is left to explore for me 🥲
Spotify recommended this to me and I was baffled by the crazy sounding rabbit voice and the ultra clean and catchy bear voice. Combined with the psychedelic synth sound made this feel like a fever dream and so I´ve put this song in my "wtf" playlist. And even though I only listened to it that one time and didn´t even remember the name or the band, I had the chorus stuck in my head for like 3 days now so I looked it up again and now I´m here. I still can´t get it out of my head pls help
So alright. As many of you seem to be having a hard time understanding the meaning of this video, let me tell you my own point of view: A young girl falls in love with a tree, she dances around it and embraces it as an expression of love. However, despite the girl's unconditional love, the cold, emotionless tree is unable to show any kind of affection towards the girl. She then leaves and the years go by... Many years later, the girl would return to the tree she originally fell in love with as a child. She holds its branch (which basically expresses two people holding each other's hands), but the branch falls to the ground. The girl then notices that the tree is bleeding badly so she rips her left arm off and replaces the tree's disconnected branch with her own hand. But the tree doesn't show any sign of gratefulness. Instead it takes advantage of the girl's kindness, grabs her other arm, rips it off too and keeps it to itself. Moral of the story: If you fall in love with someone or something that will never give you the love back, they'll take everything away from you and you'll end up with nothing but emptiness on the inside. The tree represents all those cold-hearted, selfish, narcissistic men/women that only take and never give anything in return for you. You know, the meanest kind of people that would rob your heart and steal everything away from you just to feel better about themselves. Feel free to share your own point of view!
I love these guys so much. They put their hearts an souls into every bit of their music. And it's unlike anything I've ever heard. Their originality is what made me a fan and I will always be a fan of them. TBTB FOREVERRRRRR!
I remember finding this and thinking it's horrible. I left the video and later on (I think a year later) the chorus came into my head. I couldn't get it off my mind so I looked this up again and listened to it and read the lyrics. I fell in love with TBTB and even met Matt. They definitely were a big part of my life. I don't listen to them as much anymore as my music taste has changed, but I still love them. Awesome song. In a league of it's own and definitely nothing like it.
I think they invented a new subgenres such as in my eyes bein punkcore(just like metalcore, only that's a punk growl like a Dead Kennedys or a dropkick Murphy's growl.
I really like how the scarier animal (the bear) sings calmly and beautifully. But the less scary animal (the bunny) is screaming and crazy. Its such a great band. I've been listening since "if you don't have e anything nice to say" came out. So I know em pretty well at this point. One of my personal favorites
I can't be the only one that is driven to tears by this song. Not necessarily the song itself, it just dredges up deep emotions for me from when I first heard it Suicide is gay
I was listening to this again and it hit me.. We cremated my wife shortly after my daughter was born and put her in a bio Urn and buried her with a baby tree on top to absorb the ashes. My daughter is now 6. Every mothers day, and every birthday and death day of my wife's I have pics of my daughter hugging, playing, and dancing around the tree. This is a little toast to leaving me all alone........ 😞
