Love the DOGS!!......and the hatchet lol
Thank you!
First time on your channel.
Nice work .
Thank you 😊
I actually have one of these. I bought out the remembrance from a leather shop. In addition to this neat tool, I also scored a 1918 Singer 29-4 Patcher, a 1920’s vintage Fortuna Skiver, and a Singer High Post machine. I have picked up some parts for the skiver, as the company still have service parts available. I will start on this long list of projects later in the year. I really enjoy your videos. It’s inspired me to think about my own videos on my restorations. Merry Christmas and more great restorations in 2021.
Awesome 😎 and merry Christmas to you ☺️
Sweet little tool. 👌
Yes it is ☺️
That's awesome. I thought USMC was the Marine Corp too..... Thought it may have been a butchers implement....lol. Really interesting to see unusual tools like this. Thanks for sharing....and restoring something others would throw away. Merry Christmas to you too.
Thank you 😊
it occurs to me that this would make a superb butchery implement. wonder if we could use it as a sandcasting positive for the purpose of making replicas. if interested contact clarke at windy hill Foundry. he does a bunch of youtube vids and is a real class act of a guy.
Is USMC initials for the manufacturer, versus the Marine Corp?
@@Castleknight United Shoe Machine Company, apparently, they are for cutting leather scraps into shoes, hence 'scrap hatchet' at least according to some google-fu
Pretty nice......
Was thinking it might be repurposed into a kitchen tool.
Possibly, yes 😎
Nice job but I wish you would have highlighted the lettering in white to give it some contrast. Just my opinion!
Cute dogs and the hatchet wasn't bad eather lol
Thank you lol
Love the color 🎨 I painted a hammer this color 🎨 Awesome restoration 🥰 What a cool hatchet.
Thank you 😊
Good job.
Thank you 😊
Very interesting device tbis scrap hatchet. It reminds me of some anchors I once cast up in ductile Iron and embedded steel plates in to dig in. Good dogs always know when its treat time!
Yes they do 😆😆😂
Coolest hatchet ever
Thank you 😊
Love the videos! 👌🏼 Quality restoration every time.
Thank you 😊
That sucker is sharp...wow! Nice work. Cheers
Thank you 😊

Me too at first!
Me 2!
Former Marine. I thought, hmmm I guess we could kill people with that. I don't remember ever even seeing one. lol

Thank you 😊 and merry Christmas 🎄⛄🎄
Amazing work.
Thank you 😊
Love it! You should paint the lettering white would make it pop even more!
I was going to, but the letters are very degraded, doesn't show how bad they are on camera
Can you make a machete like this one, a little bigger, using styro-foam molding? I would like to see that.
That would be a great idea!
That turned out Great 👍 😊
Thank you 😊
Well done sir.
Thank you 😊
Merry Christmas my friend, beauti hatchet🎄🇵🇱
Thank you 😊 and merry Christmas 🎄🌲🎄

Merry Christmas chum, from UK
Merry Christmas to you
The color those came with was olive green or coyote brown not blue, great project though.
Very Good...My Friend....Saludosss
Thank you 😊
Really beautiful, but I think it would look better with bluing instead of painting it blue.
Thank you 😊
Nicely done sir, but looking at the blade, were they meant to be swapped out? Again very nicely done indeed. Thanks for sharing this video with us and please keep them coming in. New subscriber, Texas is watching.
Not sure, I have a feeling the cast iron handle was poured around the blade.
@@FixitRestoreit you are probably right, as there does not appear to be any way to detach the blade from the handle. Thanks for the info.
I really enjoy your restorations, keep up the fantastic work, Merry Christmas
Thank you 😊 and merry Christmas ⛄
Hi mister beautiful exe good job well done
Thank you 😊
I was very impressed with how well your dogs took their treats! My little girl tends to take a few fingers along with the treat... Then again, she is half Golden Retriever, half shark...
Yes, they do very good!
I want one
It's pretty neat!
United Shoe
United Shoe Manufacturing Company :)
I never seen one till now. What was it used for?
The Marine corp did its own shoe making and leather work???
Trimming leather in the shoe making business
USMC in this case stands for United Shoe Machinery Co 😊
Are u a Brit that lives in the U.S.?
Yep
😃👍
😎☺️⛄
Usmc????
Yep, stands for "United shoe machinery company"
Merry christmas love the hatchet pass on the spray paint. I was hoping to see a nice gun metal finish.

Wonderful job untill the blue paint. If this really was USMC, then it should be OD green.
Looking in the description it's made by the United shoe machinery co, At first I did wonder why the USMC would be issuing these
Yep!
Sadly you over-restored the item. By taking off casting ridges and lines you destroy history.
I don't mind doing it to things that are not rare
This one came out great! If you have time check out my channel, I just started doing restorations as well!
Thank you ☺️
