Nutnfancy SHOT SHOW 2024: Raving Rock River

- It's actually been since 2012 since I posted a RRA booth review! Holy cow.
So here we are again covering a keystone brand from TNP's past and perhaps STILL the most accurate AR15 I've ever owned, Rock River. We'll talk a lot about that legendary and real accuracy of their guns and you'll see I was right as to the reason. Not too many booths at SHOT have their shot targets posted for all the world to see. RRA does.
Mrs Nutnfancy is here as we launch into an update with most things RRA. Keep in mind this is Nutnfancy style so expect irreverent humor, unexpected detours, and then zoning in on the technical details of what the company is building now.
We'll start off with "Andrew" and then get transferred over to "Chuck" the OWNER of the company as we progress through the product line. You'll see there's no fakeness here and I'm impressed with Chuck and everyone on his team. It makes me want to get and review more RRA guns!
This is a feature length review and it's fun. Time will pass quickly for you and you'll probably be reminded of how great and yet grounded the Rock River Arms AR15s really are!

Man it seems like it's been forever since we had a shot show review by nutnfancy.
It's because we all got sick of him badmouthing literally anything heavier than a paper clip. He's full of shit.
Ma I’ve missed this
Great to see back at Shot Nutn.. I never watched anyone elses booth reviews but yours lol.
Nutn back a Shot?!? Wow! The only trustworthy and reliable reviewer on the internet
A man with morals and standards. Very rare in any business these days. This was a pleasure to watch
Col. Nutn, i remember the old shot videos, but your style of just having fun now is great. Hope you had a good show.
Vivek 2028!
Glad you're back at SHOT Nutn.
you are voting for an ex big pharma executive?...Have you learned ANYTHING?...I bet you thought Obama was great before he became president too didn't you?@@markeasley6149
@@Hoplopfheilyou better find each other and do a quick video or three
The yellow font in the thumbnail. Hitting the arsenal booth hard . Ah the good old days who knew.
My guy!! The OG of gun reviews is back at SHOT SHOW!!!
Based on some of your negative reviews of some major products, I’m actually shocked they let you in shot show. 😂
I haven't thought about RRA since my first AR15 which was an entry tactical in 2008. It always shot amazingly. That light weight mountain rifle has something special about it, it's not over done in styling like most their stuff, and it is purpose driven. I might have to buy one.
Rock River is old school and always loved!
Dude doesn't know how many rifles Nuttin has probably sold for them over the years. He's been an RR guy forever.
Good thing they’ve got him, talk about falling to the wayside, they were the hottest turd ever squeezed after their contract in 2008 and they’ve been on the downswing ever since. BTW, they weren’t all that great then and people have come to realize that, they’ll been in the obituary someday soon just like Olympic Arms.
@@alanmeyers3957 ehhh, they .ade some accurate as hell, bull barrel, stainless rifles back in the day. Not sure why that would have changed
I kinda want a Rock River AR now.
Can confirm... Tack Drivers. I bought it not knowing how good it was... 4 years later, still amazed.
😄
You won't be disappointed. 1/9 or 1/8 twist .
I was not expecting Nutn to be at shot show. Also... I forgot Rock River existed.
Should've told them to bring back their fixed carry handle uppers... They had an AWESOME A2 mid-length.
I have a Rock River ar i bought 17 years ago. Out of the many ARs i own, my RR AR is my absolute best performance AR. Its so smooth i cant believe i only paid $750 for it. Its insane what you could get back in the day.
Love to have a Rock River but we are screwed in Illinois!
I'm sold on RRA. Premier builds and customer service. I've never picked up one that doesn't shoot sub-moa or better and that's with Nato Ball .556. 😅 That's my testament.
I will have to check them out again.
Makes me want to buy a RRA rifle now. Love that they are still a mom and pop shop.
Long time TNP'r here - rarely comments. However, just wanted to say job well done to Nutn for for keepin it real as always. Good to see TNP back at Shot. Also really good to see longer format booth review. Still providing great value. Keep it up!
Love RRA my first was a Rock River because of you Nutn
This is the absolute best Shot Show video I’ve ever seen! Great job!
My first AR ever was an RRA. Purchase an Entry Tactical Model in 2008.
So great to see the rock river guys being such great sports for the booth review. I actually just picked up my first rock river, an early 2000s A2, and its probably the most accurate ar15 i've put my hands on, with an great trigger out of the box as well. They may not get all the points for resting on their laurels a bit, but they still make an awesome ar.
Man I remember when you were one of a handful of content creators at SS! Great to see you haven't lost your skill for the worst SS booth reviews! This was great!
What a fun review at Shot Show.
Great review. Great Company. Miss these vids.
Nutn booth reviews are pure gold!
I know you had a bad review on the LAR 47, but luckily mine has been flawlessly running for years on steel case.
Bravo. I'm sold.
Rock River and Springfield Arms both have something in common, and I haven't forgot about it.
I have a long memory also.
Correct, I looked for a comment about this before I commented. Too many firearms companies have forgotten who supports them.
Edit: I live in commie Illinois, so the cut is even deeper.
Like Cheaperhandirt?
@@stingygunner Not a fan of them either.
What did they do again? They tried to get anti gun laws passed but get an exemption for themselves in their state??? Something like that right?
So glad to see some news from RRA. Love their products.
I love Rock River, such good parts.
Keep up the good work guys.
My very first AR was a RRA elite operator 2. Bought on nutns recommendations of RRA. Loved that gun. Sadly, I lost it in a boating accident 😢
Sorry to hear that. May she rest in peace 😂
@@aaronrichards19886 thank you. It gets really hard sometimes. I miss her so much 😭
@baron1c hopefully it was saltwater so she will quickly rust away and won't have to suffer. :/
@@aaronrichards19886 made out of aluminum and polymer mostly. Stainless barrel 😢
I’ve heard a lot of people in that “land of Lincoln “ have sadly lost theirs in boating accidents too😢
Entertaining and informative review, Nutn! What a great group they have at RRA. Makes me want to buy something from them. Those 1911s are definitely worth a review sometime. Thanks as always.
Great review!!! Own 3. Never watched your show. Will watch again.
Much respect for RR for giving Nutnfancy some time. They may have just sold a 243 AR.
Ok, I got to have the kitty paw hand guard !!! SOLD Painting it with tiger stripes.
When you told him you have 1.2 million subs…. His brain did a dance like…. “Oh shit… what all did I say? I need this guy.”
Man, you taught me a lot about guns years ago in 2018 when I first got into this stuff… and man, this was a good video to see. Nutn having fun at Shot. Great to see man you inspired a generation
Good RRA review. I loved your classic RRA reviews from 15 (?) years ago. Keep going nutn.
Remember the Illinois Firearms Manufacturing Association attempted carve out for RRA & SA? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
This video had me crying laughing. Rock River is definitely quality. I see a 1911 in my future.
Awesome booth review!
Thank you for the review!! I also work @ RRA. Great group of people to work for & work with!!!
Your Rocking NF!
My first modern rifle Rock River LAR 15.
love RRA and my LAR15 (summer special) . KEEP IT UP!!
This was the best ShotShow booth review I’ve seen in a decade, and it’s at the Rock River booth (hilarious). Great Job Nutn, this blows TFBTV out the water.
I think you've just made me a RRA customer.
Fantastic booth review, seems like a great company. Thanks for making great quality content for the past few decades!
My first AR back in 2013 was a RRA Entry Tactical with a factory RRA quad rail installed. I liked how they had so many contracts with letter companies like FBI, DEA, and many more. I've shot that rifle 50,000+ over the past 11 years, probably about half on "full auto" with a bump stock I used to have. Also threw it in the mud, threw snow inside it, and it never malfunctioned. Still on the original bolt, just had to replace all new springs a few 10,000 rounds ago. It still shoots 1 MOA with crap PMC 55grain (probably because the 1/12 twist likes 55 grain). So I have it as a DMR with LPVO and grip pod on it. I want to buy an AR10 from you guys soon😎 and I've always wanted a LAR-47🔥🔥🔥
Man seeing that "old" RRA magazine ad really brought back some memories. That mountain rifle is an interesting setup to keep a lightweight standard upper with a usable rigid top rail without resorting to carbon fiber and drastically increasing the price... I am curious about the heat on the exposed barrel nut... but just a full top rail Lancer LCH5 gen2 handguard is over half the cost of the MSRP of that new RRA lightweight rifle... Im interested, especially with some recent inconsistent results from what have been previously fine .625 straight and tapered barrels lately... Was about to gamble more money on another barrel mfg but might just buy this rifle (or upper?) for not all that much more money by the time you go with the often needed matching gas block and lightweight but rigid MI or similar handguard... Also Hoplopfeil from TFB (and possible illegitimate child of nutnfancy, although he claims the math makes it impossible) said he got within like four feet of Nut'n at one of the nightvision booths, so Nutnfancy and Brassfacts have covered everything interesting at shotshow 2024 in a couple of videos, Hop's dream was basically fulfilled, so don't waste any more of your time watching awful shotshow videos! (Nobody should want more leverguns or 5.7 products anyway) 😂👍
Loved it! Can't wait for more
The Rock River trigger I bought purely because it was cheap and it was going in a spare is my favorite trigger.
Your interview was the best on RUclips! 😎
I have had an RRA AR-15 for about 10 years now and it has run flawlessly.
I know National Match hbar and free float A2 kits are not popular right now but I am so so glad they still make them. Love the RRA selector, love the triggers.
Favorite booth review of all the content at Shot Show! Awesome stuff at Rock River 😎🤙 Thanks Nutn! 😎🐾🤙🇺🇸💝 TNP!!!!!!!
Right-on Nutn! The king of booth reviews from way back in the day all the way to today! New reviewers need to learn their roots! Thanks man.
RRA is badass historically, thank the Good Lord.
I ordered a basic lightweight, chrome lined, mid length Rock River complete rifle last week because I'm tired of all the "latest and greatest." A relatively lightweight, reliable, and accurate rifle is all I need and Rock River has always delivered. I'm stoked to get some rounds through it, and I'm stoked about nutnfancy keeping it real, as always!
Love rock river. Thanks for bringing us along for these conversations!
The first rifle my oldest daughter ever shot outside of a 22lr was a rock river and I plan on buying her one of her own soon for her birthday
I bought my RRA AR-15 because of your review Nutn! I'll buy my next because of this one! Nice to meet the owner of the company.
Excellent review Nutn! Really enjoyed it. More like this!
Absolutely 100 % agreed about Vivek Ramasalami. The man is articulate. Also nutn making me want a Rock River
Nutn on the shot show floor is always gold 😅😂🎉
Glad to see a real interview at shot show. Great content as always Nutn'
Man shout out to u from Canada, been watching u for years your the best . Keep the faith bro
Cool people and amazing guns. I will buy their product for sure!
Good to see the OG back doing fun booth reviews. 👍
my brotha n fellow patriot there , this u.s. marine vet here has your 6 covered n will faiifthfully support you always , love the vids n keep em coming bro , thanks n talk soon > tom !
Great to see you again at Shot ,thanks for all you do.
Great job Colonel!
Had my rra for like 10 years based off your review. Best rifle I own to this day. Not one malfunction. Trigger is fantastic.
Thanks for goin Nutn, we need a lot of transparency, critique and non sponsored opinions on what the Firearms industry is actually doing right now, in public and behind closed doors....
It's a necessity to have independent perspectives and a realistic outlook on what's being sold or touted by the industry: not every gun is a winner, not every 'latest and greatest' product makes since.
-And Thanks!
Amen, and yes let's go Independent my Texas brother!
This is great to see!
Been a while. Glad to see Nutnfnacy is still doing his thing!
My first AR and favorite ever so far was a Rock River, 16", fixed carry handle, lightweight barrel with slim m4 length handguard. It shot a .75 moa group with wolf steel case 55grn with iron sights. I judge all ARs since against that rifle. Oddly enough my current primary shooter isn't much different. Flat top with 16" stainless heavy barrel, because I'm older and need an optic and hbar to shoot .75 moa with crappy ammo. I do still use the same mag carrying forward grip. Though the darn thing really is too heavy to use with a mag in the forward grip lol.
Great show. Thumbing up 👍
Lol you're torturing this guy, but I love it. If only he knew who he was talking to, the pressure would be on
Let’s go!! Nutnfancy live stream at shot show!! Love this!
Ok, so maybe not a live stream, but still!! Love Nutn at shot show, throwback to the old days!
Great interview. 😀
Good reviews of the folks at Rock River. .45 +P, I'll take a look at that.
Damn, Nutnfancy got me looking up Rock River loot, dude the poster cracking me up
Good to see you back at shot show!
Love the triggers on rock river . Cant beat them
I can attest: RRA offers sub MOA accuracy at a sub $1k price point. Thanks for all the great years of content Nutn!
The professionally unprofessional at his best. Such a pro at not being one. There is no denying the awkwardness. It is strong with this one.
Wow nutnfancy back at shot show? Dude you were the very first RUclipsr I ever saw at shot show back in 2009 I think it was. I didn’t even know what RUclips was or what a guntuber was. I just assumed you were working for a media company like guns and ammo lol. The next year I became a guntuber and went to shot show for 13 years straight. Glad you’re back. I stopped going to shot this year.
Security must be very lax at Shot Show for Nut'n to get in, let alone actually get close to a vendor booth. The RRA guy looks like he was entertaining Nut'ns questions as a delay until the police showed up. My first AR build was with a RRA chrome lined Hbar mid-length gas 16 inch barrel. Still shoots great 30 years later.
My old duty gun was a Colt. Right up until I saw a LAR15 from RRA in about 1999-2000 timeframe. I sole my Colt. Its STILL my GTW go to gun for accuracy, dependability and durability. They are fantastic. And my little .300 BLK is bad ass!
Really missed this style of booth review. Great sports.
Absolutely, so very entertaining. Would definitely consider RRA.
Buncha serious RUclipsrs and content creators asking about specs and detailed nonsense at Shot Show...
And then, there's this Gigga Chad just filming, walking, nutnfancy talking to gun people like you should.
Good job man, my first upper was a Carbon Fiber RRA... It's the best shooting AR I own... Now I know why it's a tack driver
I'm sad they dont make them anymore
Awesome show Colonel great interview and production of your video. 👍
"...tracking a gray squirrel for a week." * coughing fit of laughter *
Great work nutn!
excellent review, now i want an RGB and their 1911
Just from how down to earth these guys are I would do business with then for my next AR!
What, NutnFancy shot show footage of Arsenal back in the day was epic. An OG in the guntuber space. Put some respect on his name. Well done Nutn, Shame on him for not knowing Nutnfancy lol.
