Great episode. Steffie is so in tuned with her feelings and is able to communicate her thoughts and feelings so gracefully.
No, you didn’t just remove the video while I was in the middle of listening and then re-upload it! LMAO
Respect on this dumb. Keep striving on bettering yourself. We don’t have much Asian American representation around these topics so it’s a breath of fresh air hearing it from you guys
Loved what Steffie said about reality being made up of all of our perspectives.
Also hugs regarding her dad, I lost my mom young too and wish I could talk to her one more time.
New found respect for Steffie, she was on point this ep. Dumb has also come a long way but keeps turning the conversation back to himself when he already had his turn in the hot seat!
Well yeah he's the one with the most problems and suffering the most since this is all new to him.
I've been a fan of this pod like how many years but this one is definetely the best. so touching and inspirating at the same time.
This episode was so powerful. Thank you for talking about difficult topics.
Thank you for closed captions! Also, I love the energy and care and attention you show for each other. It's the energy I hope to have in my own circle of friends. It's beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Really love seeing the growth in y’all. Thank you for sharing y’all’s story, journey, and being vulnerable. Very inspiring 🫶
Wow you gotta do this more often! Best episode I've watched from your pod.
So glad you guys are trying therapy. It's important and people look up to you all. It's such a big step to break the therapy and mental health stigma that many asians grew up with and currently face
I loved this so much!!! Awe Steffie I see u baby, thank you for your vulnerability!! 🫶
i absolutely love this episode! thank you all for being open and sharing your experiences
Steffie, there is wisdom in your “slip” of centuries of crying. Your healing is tending to the generations of women who have survived so you could be here!
Thank you all for sharing. This episode was powerful and resonates so deeply with my own identity as a daughter of Korean immigrants. Please keep this going, speaking gently, honestly and powerfully. Loved every minute of it. I’m inspired. 💗
Good work opening up and being vulnerable everyone. Dont let fear of the unknown hold you back and remember to be your own biggest fan.
Dumb if you are inclined give yourself the chance to get to know your dad while you can. Chellenge him to a rap battle or invite him for a one on one conversation. Either way it goes you will have something to fuel your art.
loved this!!! always very comforting and relatable to see you guys be so vulnerable on the podcast while sharing your experiences. def wouldn't mind seeing more talks like this one
Respect you guys for being vulnerable. Hope we all heal from our own issues :)
The episodes around the table were prime Fun with Dumb.
Jonnie I hope one day you get a document of your life on Netflix. From kid hood to you being a star actor. You will have your moment once you start healing from your past trauma. You can do it!!
This was amazing guys, thank you all for sharing ❤ I hope you know how therapeutic this was to listen to for me, and I'm sure for others too. Mental health is something that's been taboo for so long in Asian communities, and it's so refreshing to listen to you guys open up about hard topics. Sending you all lots of love ❤️
very relatable to Dumb childhood story.. quite vulnerable watching.. even if you have still unspoken issues with your parents let it go, dont think too much.. we cant change that generation, the way they've raised us.. no sense blaming them for our messups now... deep inside they do love us ... thank you for this podcast ! wishing you all happiness and peace with yourself : )
Such a good episode. I was nodding my head in agreement to some of the things said during this ep while listing to this at work lol
When I got something like a certificate my parents never came, I remember because I was proud every time and I guess they needed the money that they couldn't show up, knowing we struggled it hurt not seeing them or getting what I wanted to order as a kid but that taught me to be there for my kids.
Damn ya'll are wylin'. Steffie could wear 4 grandma sweaters and she'd still be smoking hot. And the FwD crew is full of handsome bastards. Love the pod, fam. This was a deep one /no diddy/ but much needed. Appreciate ya'll
Such a wholesome episode. Thank you for this
Podcast therapy needs to be a series!
52:47 did not grow up like Steffie but wow everything she is feeling is how I feel because my dad wasn’t a provider and I became more independent at 16
28:28 twice I’ve heard Dumb say he doesn’t know what his parents think or need. When he should be focusing on what he wants and feels. If he’s in his dads life because he wants to be, he will find out about himself and their relationship along the way
Correction 3 times and steff pointed it out 1:34:25
GREAT GREAT GREAT episode. Shiet got deep. We love yall.
Really enjoyed this one dumb 🙏
That what such a great ad read dumb !!! Soo prefect !!!
imo, it's teaching your kids "to try" and learn from those things that we attempt - you said you appreciate this quality, dumb, in the ep258
there's parents that make the environment competitive, whereas others, make their kids collaborate, teach each other, and support each other and focus on just being a good human being
They talked about where his interest for performing came from and it was always to get attention from his parents or specifically his dad. He didn’t so he seeks it from EVERYONE else (crowds and greats). -Me speculating
what a special episode... i love you guyss 😍😍
The sound keeps muting throughout the pod 😢
Yeah I thought it was my end for a second.
@selfawarepotassium Same. I had my earbuds in and I just kept hitting it to see if it paused. LOL
i speak perfect native mandarin but my grandma is doing rural inter-province slang that no one knows (in their own town my grandma had a bad accent too, adding the fact that they are in the tri-state aera that everyone talks differently). She only made me roasted wheat from the field and stinky whole fish with skin and head
Loved this one! On another note, was that you stefy on the 8 show ? 😏
Could relate to some of the things that were mentioned in the episode❤🙌👍
such a good ep
this was awesome...
is it just me or everyone else is experiencing silence at 14 minutes and 31 minutes
The video stops around 14 min or something. Do you guys need to re-upload? It doesn’t play on my tv or phone around that point
9:57 dumb finally gettin it!!
I wanna be one of those therapists that doesn’t ask much questions! Sounds like my career.
I’ve been trying to mend for 2 years it really is difficult and takes a lot of effort from more than one side. I’m torn between continuing and letting it go
it’s cause they realized there’s a minute of frozen screen in the middle
We are lucky to be American Korean. We think we deserve an eplaination but we have no idea that they never had that. From our age group we have no idea what they went through. The things we ask for they never received. We dont know the shoes theyve ever worn. As a korean american w a mother thst was bor in 1948 its the least i can do but try to bridge that gap. Imo. Im blessed to have those cards. Its the least i can do was give her the grace i think i deserve. Imo
I gdt offended sometimes listening to yall
WAIT ARE WE NOT PROMOTING FUMI AND STEPHS POD ANYMORE

I think there was korean and english subtiltes, please provide english subtilte at least! 😭
There should be automatic subtitles
@@dumbfoundead thx for your kindly reply! I always watch and enjoy your episodes during my commute! 💯🫡
as a fellow korean-canadian i relate a lot to this. I've never seen my parents cry before, and I will be carrying that torch as well. though most might see this "hardness" as a negative, i've always looked up to the "cool, cold, hard headed korean dad" stereotype. there's a reason to why we've evolved that way, whether it's from a traumatic past or preventative measures; it almost feels like we'd be doing a disservice to our fathers and fore-fathers life experiences that has been ingrained into our DNA memory.

Why did my comment get deleted?
think he reuploaded
let's cry and then ask for VENMO money. 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ pathetic.
Steffie not wearing a miniskirt AGAIN.
Guys, I'm thinking of unsubscribing over this.
Jeezus, unwatchable. Pure cringefest.
Stop it, get some help
