  • After 2 years hiatus because of the pandemic, on the 11th August 2022 the famous Bristol International Balloon Fiesta welcomed hot air balloons back to its original launchfield! However although the weather was incredible the entire weekend, it was unfortunately too hot to fly anything in the evenings! We were however victorious in flight in the mornings! Here is a detailed look at the launchfield whilst they're inflating and launching to the skies. On Friday morning I decided not to fly after the pilot briefing so I walked around the launchfield instead. Afterwards my crew and I had a tour around the world famous Cameron Balloons factory in Bedminster! Thank you Cameron's! Saturday morning was either fly or get a shower and you'll find out which one I chose as it was the hottest day of the fiesta, my car was registering 34⁰c in the shade and me and my crew were camping in that! Stay tuned to the end as I did eventually fly G-SHAD out of the arena Sunday morning! My thanks go to Katie Waite for filming my launch, Rob Grzesiczek for filming parts of the flight, Craig Thompson for guiding me into North Somerset Showground and Mike Pritchard for retrieving us! I really hope you enjoy the video as I wanted to capture everything about the fiesta from the inflations to the nightglow and launching, I hope to return next year but probably not with the full size but we shall see what happens in the meantime!
