@@tanelviil9149 the game just isn’t for you then, you’re talking about disrupting the things that make the gameplay loop rewarding and fun. Going out to a new island and finding lots of ore and then having to ferry it all back to main base by boat is one of the best mechanics in any survival game as far as I’m concerned
@@jrmungandr " Going out to a new island and finding lots of ore and then having to ferry it all back to main base by boat is one of the best mechanics in any survival game as far as I’m concerned" --------------- no it is not. You can spend 24h and you wont get 500 iron, while ispend under 20 sec and have 500 iron. But i think you miss the point... the point is that the game has POINTLESS GIRIND. Maybe you should watch some youtube videos that all point out the problem with VALHEIMs grinding. ------------------------------------- videos with title like: *I Didn't Like Valheim - EARLY ACCESS Review and Feedback* *Valheim would be Good if it Wasnt so Tedious (Review)* *Valheim Is Bad, Actually.*
@@tanelviil9149 500 iron really isn’t a lot, I could reliably pull more than that in 24 hours. Cheating like you do nullifies any comparison so what are you really saying here? The game isn’t bad just because you don’t like the way it’s set up
If you gain some high ground you can actually jump on top of the stone golem and ride him while hitting him with a pickaxe. It's super hilarious and quite effective
Tbh I found the stone golems are way easier to fight if you parry their one-handed attacks with the iron shield and slam them with your main weapon three times before backing off again. It's alot faster than with the pickaxe. (Also you only showed people the hammer arm golem, there's also the spear arm golem).
For the Fenring, I've found the best way to attack them is with the Frostner - they get slowed by the frost, plus they are classed as undead so they start burning. Another tip I've found useful in the mountains - you can happily run around without a weapon out for max stamina, if on the bottom right of screen you see the prompts for Attack, dodge etc - it means something's aggro'ed on you, so that's a good time to get weapon and shield out.
Stone golems can also be parried, and much like trolls you can generally dodge their attack then get it a swing or two. Also, Iron Mace does great damage against them, and let's you keep your shield up for blocking/parrying.
If your gear isn't great, take the serpent shield, find a stone golem, and just run back to him whenever you are attacked by wolves. His hits aren't really that hard, but he messes up wolves. you can just block through his hits. You can also mine stone this way - just find a stone golem, stand in front of rocks while blocking, and profit. The stone golems usually do 2 hits, walk around, then 2 hits. Occasionally they'll throw in a 3 attack pattern.
I feel like you made the enemies look more difficult than they are. Just parry and attack. That approach works for almost every enemy in the game. Here are the cues: Wolf: wolf will growl just before biting you. As soon as you hear the growl, block. You will parry them. Wolves stay dazed for a while Golem: the single-hand slam animation is roughly one second long. get the timing down and parry. For the two hand slam, I would suggest walking out of the hit radius if you are not a confident parry/blocker. the animation is long enough for you to dodge roll+ walk out of the radius. Golems commit to 3 attacks before they begin to prance around giving you time for your stamina to replenish. Very simple. Fenring: He is all intimidation. He attacks barely land nor are they accurate. You can easily kill him with a bow without having to engage. I personally use Frostner in this biome which makes these mobs really easy.
You can kill a stone golem in about 7 hits with an iron mace if you: Parry 1 handed attack Swing mace 3 times Wait until next attack Parry 1 handed attack Swing mace 3 times Swing mace 1 more time Stone golem is dead
It's worth noting that you should only attempt to parry the golem's one handed attacks. His double axe handle (the one that he actually takes longer to wind up) should always be sidestepped because it's the only attack that has a different parry timing and if you fail the parry, you take twice as much damage as his other swings. The good thing though is that simply block tanking it is quite viable as well unless you're also ganked by wolves and drakes firing from your front (because then you'd be out of stamina blocking the other things, thus leaving you with none for the double axe handle).
Best strategy for Stone Golem: 1. Equip a fully upgraded Iron Sledge and fully upgraded Banded Shield. 2. Sneak up on Golem while he's asleep and use secondary attack. It does enormous damage. 3. His first attack can be parried with the Banded Shield, then while he's staggered, flail away on him. He won't know what hit him. I killed him with 1 initial secondary attack, 1 parry and 3 follow-up swings. Easy peasy. Don't listen to the BS about using a pickaxe. They're worthless.
Solid video, only a few things I would add. Healing potions are also great if you're in the mountain. They've saved my skin a few times when I've had to fight multiple enemies at once. Iron shield is best I think because it can full block most attacks even if your parry timing is off. Also just wanted to add that frost resistance potions are still useful after you get the wolf cape because they still reduce frost damage from attacks.
You can also use the iron hammer or stag breaker to hit the ground and look for the “to hard” message to pop up, meaning there is silver underneath you
Really good tip! I did it before killing bonemass and got enough silver to craft me a wolf cape, frostner and the best bow of the current game. It's now way easier to fight bonemass, since he's weak to blunt and frost damage (frostner do both!)
Once you're kitted out in silver armour and drake helm, the regular bog standard wolves aren't an issue anymore. A special note should be made about the 2* ones. They are like faster, tougher, and stealthier fulings that will hit you for 30+ damage per bite in padded armour and 50 odd in silver. Pray you don't run into 2 of them at the same time... Like I did once. I died while considering making an impromptu taming contraption, which is to say, in exactly one bite from each. While wearing the gear I beat Moder in and about 150 hp.
So if you actually want to have an easy time in the mountains I suggest you try this For wolves and wolf packs craft an iron Aetgir it is a hard counter for wolves. It offers pierce damage and the special attack is a 360° swing that for some reason will stun wolves for 2 seconds. In that time just sit back and regen stam then use the special attack again. It can make packs of wolves super simple to handle. For stone golems bring a shield that can parry. Fuck mining picks they are slow, you have no shield to block, you have to hug the enemy and if he slightly moves you miss and dig yourself into a hole and at best with 50 to 60 in pickaxe skill you barely hit 50 damage. The better way to handle them is to parry then strike 3 times rinse and repeat this will allow you to do 200+ damage each time you parry. For fenrigs once you can craft frostner or the silver sword those guys become pushovers especially with the ice from frostner slowing them down. If you dont have frostner make ice arrows with the drake glands and obsidian. Slow the fenrig down with the frost effect.
To escape wolves, run until you find some greydwarves and let them kill each other. Don't stick around though because the wolves will likely win, hopefully you put enough distance between the wolf and you by the time they are finished fighting.
Oooh. Had to pause to say - great tip about climbing with the pickaxe! I hadn't even thought of that! My friend struggles getting up mountains because he likes HP food. Thanks!
I just killed my first stone golem yesterday. What I did is equip my shield (I was using a round shield but an iron buckler would work also), parry the one-handers, then switch to the pickaxe to attack. Was a bit quicker than your method but more fiddly because you have to swap between shield and pickaxe a lot.
Parry the golem and you get 2-3 hits depending on you weapon after each parry. Goes a lot faster and their attacks are very readable so they are easy parries.
if your portal to the mountains isn't in the mountains take a frost mead... cape doesn't work if you are wet. if you don't want to waste a mead then take 5 stone and 2 wood and start a fire the moment you enter the zone and take freezing dmg
glad you mentioned the backup frost mead. i died in the biome and had my spawn point in a base on the mountain. body was too far away to get to it before I died and since that was my spawn, I had no way to get anywhere else (no portal). I had to enable cheats so i could get to my body and get my stuff.
Nice guide. The name is Fen-Ring btw, not Fer-Ning. It's from the Norse 'Fenrir' - a mithological monstrous wolf, who is a son of Loki. It's also the name of a cool character in Dune... Count Fenring.
Hi thank you for all your videos have just discovered your channel have learnt so much thank you again could you please help I am on valheim on xbox series s is it possible to reduce the grass ect so I can see items on floor better .
Have to carry soo much stuff (arrows, armor, food, potions) I barely have room in my inventory after that. They need to figure something out with the inventory.
I try to only take when I'm going to use such as he hunting I'd bring flint arrows for game otherwise I will leave them. So figuring out which tools to bring and what you plan to do. That's just what I do though.
1. The Ferlings are weak to silver, so have your self a silver sword and a silver shield and make short work of them after parry 2. Obsidian might be scarse on some small mountains, so make sure to use the first 4 bits for a tool shelf before spending it on arrows
I'm kinda curious what the best set of weapons/shields is when you stumble upon a pack of wolves.. because parrying is most likely only working on one wolf, since the other wolves attack from the sides.
Atgier is great. the swing attack had great range and has a guaranteed stun. Since wolves are stunned for a long time you will have enough time to pick them off after you stun the group
just fyi "moder" means Mother in danish, when pronouncing the D in moder think of it like the TH sounds in english, but keep the sort of lower note way you say the O moder already. aditionally, "drake" is dragon is swedish (it would drage in danish)
I'm hunting for Modor so this vid is perfectly timed for me haha :) Also popped by twitch yesterday (wigglyrayne) was super chill and fun will definitely try and catch more 😀 Keep up the good work dude 👏
Tbh, (this may be because I've only fought like two) but the fenrings haven't really cause me any problems. Get a stealth shot in and it's half way to gg
i tried to parry 2 wolves, the parry worked but it recovered and attack me so fast i didnt even have time and the few times i did it still staggered me through the block.
My starter island is like two big circles almost, on the outer rings its meadows and black forest and on the inner rings theres two massive mountains. But thats all there is.
A little late, but I just wear one of my prophylactics, i.e., my wolf or lox cape, with a backup frost pot cause I have taken a portal wet...derp... I'm good.
Quick tip: make sure you have defeated bonemass to get the wishbone and find a small mountain biome. enemy spawn rate seems to be lower and you should find enough silver to make a fully upgraded silver shield and cape then go to a Bigger mountain. Fully upgraded Iron Iron mace and silver shield plus your iron armor and the biomass power will make golem a breeze. Be ready to die stupidly if you over extend yourself from your teleporter or base with out food, the lack of stamina will see you die a lot for no reason. If you see a 2 star wolf, run to a high ground and take it from a distance or try to tame it
Tip for the stone golems: Get your best bow out and pepper the things with obsidian arrows. It’ll take a minute but golems are weakest to pierce damage and the obsidian arrows have solid pierce damage output and are fairly easy to make. Tip for the fenrings: Get Frostner and fight the things head on. They hit hard but if you bring a silver shield you can parry their attacks and get to whacking. Frostner does spirit damage which is fantastic for fighting those furries.
Since they only spawn 1 at a time, I trapped the stone golem inside of a rock that it busted and built a bunch of crap to make a stone prison around it 😂
Parrying stone golems is way better. Soneone tested it. Pick axe deals average 53 danage and if you parry and hit him with a mace its 207 danage. Sobyou can take diwn a stone golem in about 5 hits if you parry before each hit
The problem that I'm having is that I can't find a good-sized mountain biom for shit. Anything I come across is SUPER small, and has really no silver or mobs at all. I'm sort of wondering if it's just a bad seed, but I have some REALLY great examples of meadow/black forest/swamp/plains near one another, and I really haven't had an issue so far. Does anyone have ay tips for finding a large mountain biom?
Useless fact of the day if anyone hasn’t done it yet or needs to know instead of just a couple in game days any fermenting takes 20 minutes irl which is a couple days in game but just so you know it’s 20 minutes
Trenches... Dig trenches. The mobs cant jump down steep trenches. Also modor is easy when you prepare trenches. Modor landed in my trench and I ran around and smacked it in the butt. It could not turn around.
People often explore the mountains before the plains so it's just a suggestion for that situation. late game, needle arrows are pretty much always best
If you're new to fighting wolves, take a hoe and some stone with you!! Raise the ground under your feet and the wolves shouldn't be able to catch you. This way, you can shoot them from a distance!
"FULL GUIDE"!!!11! Then says "video link below" like 15 times... awful Edit: Your tips on combat (golem for instance) are also terrible. Only useful tips were the mead, picaxe climb and how to find silver

I noticed that as soon i start to build, chopping wood , using pickaxe then the monsters just come running from random locations.....so annoying . *They just SPAWN IN.* *How is that fair???* But i should not spawn in items???
Thats why i started to spawn in items... its faster .. and if the monsters keep spawning in, then why should i not spoawn in items???
The game should have an item or something that you can put on ground that gives you 3 or 5 days peace from mosnters at day time... this would be used in new locations where you build a base.
OR once i kill monsters from lets say 100 meter or 50 meter radius , then they stop spawning in randomly at day time. At least 24 H needs to pass before new monsters show up in that 100 or 50 meter radius, and they dont show up all at once, they show up sloely.
THIS WOULD BE ALSO A FIX. So the player can build a new base in relative peace.
__________________________________________________
Those are the fixes.
After second boss you can build device that send out crows ( or what ever ) to find the next boss location for you, or the runes at least...... and then a method for ORE transportation and base building in more dangerous areas.
As the game is now, i just keep using commands to save time in real life.
ohh one more thing..... FOOD EFFECT TIME is too short. considering the ingredients you have to get for some foods and they only last for 20 min or 25 min...... nah thats too short ..... i also spawn in food.... f that i have to do all the work for 3 ingredients for a food and then it only lasts 25 min.... f that .... i just spawn it..
Make combined food last 1 H or 2 H then i am willing to not use commands for it. Then it actually has value and matters.

You can spend 24h and you wont get 500 iron, while ispend under 20 sec and have 500 iron.
But i think you miss the point... the point is that the game has POINTLESS GIRIND.
Maybe you should watch some youtube videos that all point out the problem with VALHEIMs grinding.

@@tanelviil9149 500 iron really isn’t a lot, I could reliably pull more than that in 24 hours. Cheating like you do nullifies any comparison so what are you really saying here? The game isn’t bad just because you don’t like the way it’s set up
I've yet to touch a mountain because felt like a big beast. Thanks for doing this I feel more inspired and confidant to try!
Good luck! It's tricky so be careful 🙂
(Also you only showed people the hammer arm golem, there's also the spear arm golem).
yeah that pickaxe approach is so unnecessary lol. He could of even switched to his shield to parry and then switch back to pickaxe to attack also.
I hadn't realized the prompts signified aggro - very helpful tip!
And here I was running around occasionally popping into sneak mode to see if I had aggro. Your method is much cleaner!
Here are the cues:
Wolf: wolf will growl just before biting you. As soon as you hear the growl, block. You will parry them. Wolves stay dazed for a while
Golem: the single-hand slam animation is roughly one second long. get the timing down and parry.
I personally use Frostner in this biome which makes these mobs really easy.
liar !
You can kill a stone golem in about 7 hits with an iron mace if you:
Parry 1 handed attack
Swing mace 3 times
Wait until next attack
Parry 1 handed attack
Swing mace 3 times
Swing mace 1 more time
Stone golem is dead
It's worth noting that you should only attempt to parry the golem's one handed attacks. His double axe handle (the one that he actually takes longer to wind up) should always be sidestepped because it's the only attack that has a different parry timing and if you fail the parry, you take twice as much damage as his other swings. The good thing though is that simply block tanking it is quite viable as well unless you're also ganked by wolves and drakes firing from your front (because then you'd be out of stamina blocking the other things, thus leaving you with none for the double axe handle).
Best strategy for Stone Golem:
@@owa1985nope
Solid video, only a few things I would add. Healing potions are also great if you're in the mountain. They've saved my skin a few times when I've had to fight multiple enemies at once. Iron shield is best I think because it can full block most attacks even if your parry timing is off. Also just wanted to add that frost resistance potions are still useful after you get the wolf cape because they still reduce frost damage from attacks.
Best way to deal with golems is to dig a hole, lure him into it and leave him there.
But not a hole next to or inside a Rock object. They figured out that they can smash their way out of those. =/
Golem + Hole = Holem
Stone Golem easy mode:
- activate Bone Mass power (you can even facetank them!)
- hit them with the pickaxe
:)
That seems like the smart thing to do but the mountains without the Ekthyr power is miserable
Whoa, genius! I need to give that a try
Duuuuuude 200 IQ
Once you're kitted out in silver armour and drake helm, the regular bog standard wolves aren't an issue anymore. A special note should be made about the 2* ones. They are like faster, tougher, and stealthier fulings that will hit you for 30+ damage per bite in padded armour and 50 odd in silver. Pray you don't run into 2 of them at the same time... Like I did once. I died while considering making an impromptu taming contraption, which is to say, in exactly one bite from each. While wearing the gear I beat Moder in and about 150 hp.
So if you actually want to have an easy time in the mountains I suggest you try this
For wolves and wolf packs craft an iron Aetgir it is a hard counter for wolves.
You can kill golems with obsidian arrows as well. It takes a fair share of arrows, but you can keep your distance
Oooh. Had to pause to say - great tip about climbing with the pickaxe! I hadn't even thought of that! My friend struggles getting up mountains because he likes HP food. Thanks!
Loving the Valheim vids, keep up the good work my man!!
Thank you 🙂
I just killed my first stone golem yesterday. What I did is equip my shield (I was using a round shield but an iron buckler would work also), parry the one-handers, then switch to the pickaxe to attack. Was a bit quicker than your method but more fiddly because you have to swap between shield and pickaxe a lot.
I just love you!! Classic music is life! I can work better, think better, and be grateful for life
Parry the golem and you get 2-3 hits depending on you weapon after each parry. Goes a lot faster and their attacks are very readable so they are easy parries.
Not sure if anyone has even said anything but your chapter for FENRING is misspelled as FERLING.
fyi, obsidian arrows do exactly the same damage against stone golems, and using arrows makes them exceedingly easier to kill.
if your portal to the mountains isn't in the mountains take a frost mead... cape doesn't work if you are wet.
if you don't want to waste a mead then take 5 stone and 2 wood and start a fire the moment you enter the zone and take freezing dmg
best way to fight the golems are to parry them and use the mace and use the secondary attack in doing this you can kill the golem in 5 hits
glad you mentioned the backup frost mead. i died in the biome and had my spawn point in a base on the mountain. body was too far away to get to it before I died and since that was my spawn, I had no way to get anywhere else (no portal). I had to enable cheats so i could get to my body and get my stuff.
Really Helpful, ive found you can parry Stone Golems and do a lot more damage with an iron mace.
Parry and strong attack with upgraded iron mace will kill stone Gollum in 4-5 hits
if you press SHIFT once, your character automatically walks or swims yet you can still steer him with A and D. Until you press W again when he stops.
"like" just for the pickax trick. taught me something new
came for some mountain tips, stayed for the dad jokes.
Dad level has raised to 69
haha 69 is a sexual position
Thats not pg but i learned something mew
Nice guide. The name is Fen-Ring btw, not Fer-Ning. It's from the Norse 'Fenrir' - a mithological monstrous wolf, who is a son of Loki. It's also the name of a cool character in Dune... Count Fenring.
Also consider exploring the mountain with low level gear and without spoilers, it was a pain but still a good gaming experience.
So yheaaa I've been looking all around for hours and no silver! After watching this I now need to find that wishbone
Thanks for this. I was really lost up there!
You're very welcome!
That pickaxe while climbing slopes trick is tight af.
Silver sword works very well on Fenring. FYI
IF you can get above the golem you can just stand on top of it and swing your pick right into it's head
Hi thank you for all your videos have just discovered your channel have learnt so much thank you again could you please help I am on valheim on xbox series s is it possible to reduce the grass ect so I can see items on floor better .
Jump on top of the stone golum and use the pickaxe. They die in a few seconds
Bring a teleporter that goes back to home base and have a loot cart on the other side waiting for you
1. The Ferlings are weak to silver, so have your self a silver sword and a silver shield and make short work of them after parry
Whenever using 2-handed weapons, always keep a shield in your hotkeys so that you can switch to the shield for defense if necessary.
@@noxemistirpze4843 Think about making the Iron battleaxe instead of the Atgier.. it supposed to be better?
@@e.peters8563 the iron battle-axe is awful in my opinion.
The slow from the hammer makes fighting wolves trivial.
not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but you can no longer equip both wishbone and megingjord
Stone golems can be jumped on when they swing, then killed with a pick
Werewolves are weak to silver.
Silver arrows works best.
Silver blade / spear etc
_Iron and silver buckler shields_ ??
just fyi "moder" means Mother in danish, when pronouncing the D in moder think of it like the TH sounds in english, but keep the sort of lower note way you say the O moder already. aditionally, "drake" is dragon is swedish (it would drage in danish)

Tbh, (this may be because I've only fought like two) but the fenrings haven't really cause me any problems. Get a stealth shot in and it's half way to gg
Very good
i tried to parry 2 wolves, the parry worked but it recovered and attack me so fast i didnt even have time and the few times i did it still staggered me through the block.
I'm good.
How do you move the camera like that?
He keeps saying he's parrying the fenring while the game says he's just blocking it. I hope he knows the difference.
Do you know? Kan you explane it?
Quick tip:
make sure you have defeated bonemass to get the wishbone and find a small mountain biome. enemy spawn rate seems to be lower and you should find enough silver to make a fully upgraded silver shield and cape then go to a Bigger mountain. Fully upgraded Iron Iron mace and silver shield plus your iron armor and the biomass power will make golem a breeze. Be ready to die stupidly if you over extend yourself from your teleporter or base with out food, the lack of stamina will see you die a lot for no reason. If you see a 2 star wolf, run to a high ground and take it from a distance or try to tame it
When are we going to get some more youtube streams mate????
Tip for the stone golems: Get your best bow out and pepper the things with obsidian arrows. It’ll take a minute but golems are weakest to pierce damage and the obsidian arrows have solid pierce damage output and are fairly easy to make.
Tip for the fenrings: Get Frostner and fight the things head on. They hit hard but if you bring a silver shield you can parry their attacks and get to whacking. Frostner does spirit damage which is fantastic for fighting those furries.
Wrong
Since they only spawn 1 at a time, I trapped the stone golem inside of a rock that it busted and built a bunch of crap to make a stone prison around it 😂
A banded shield works a lot better parrying the higher level enemies
Parrying stone golems is way better. Soneone tested it. Pick axe deals average 53 danage and if you parry and hit him with a mace its 207 danage. Sobyou can take diwn a stone golem in about 5 hits if you parry before each hit
what's the point of having a shield if you can't parry with it ? lol
Tower shields are great for multible enemies.
Personally I just use a heavy block shield to hold aggro so my arrow wielding friends can pick them off
Yeah the whole point of the small shield is to parry. I don't get why people have a hard time parrying in this game.
How have you played this much and not know about jumping on the stone golems????
No pinned video on how to maximize the rested buff . . .
Awesome dad jokes...and the video was very helpful.
haha :) Thank you
The problem that I'm having is that I can't find a good-sized mountain biom for shit.
Check out the Valheim World Generator...
At the continents that are farther away towards the edge of the world there will be massive mountains there

what bow is he using??
i figured it out it's the Draugr Fang! i've already gotten it to max quality! that's like 65 silver bars lmao
I got a giant mountain biome on my starter island.
nice! :)
How to defeat a golem 1. Use bone mass 2. Tank all the damage. 3. Profit.
You dont fight Golems with a pickaxe XD. You can kill them with a banded shield and iron mace in seconds.....
Stone golems are efficiently killed with maces since they are weak to blunt damage.
They are not WEAK to blunt damage. They are just not resistant to it. It does normal damage to them compared to piercing or slash.
yay
Always mark silver deposits!
Yup
Useless fact of the day if anyone hasn’t done it yet or needs to know instead of just a couple in game days any fermenting takes 20 minutes irl which is a couple days in game but just so you know it’s 20 minutes
Trenches... Dig trenches. The mobs cant jump down steep trenches. Also modor is easy when you prepare trenches. Modor landed in my trench and I ran around and smacked it in the butt. It could not turn around.
Make a video on golem vs troll, make them fight
You can get on top of a stone gollum and mine the top of their head
How does the damage compare to weps when doing that? :O
the "drake" is dragon in swedish
Do what my friends do. Spam campfires
Who needs fire arrows against drakes when needle arrows are alot cheaper and 1 hit
People often explore the mountains before the plains so it's just a suggestion for that situation. late game, needle arrows are pretty much always best
Thanks Elon!
Stone golem with pickaxe is so wrong. Use a mace!
when he do this woleves will come
Golem can be jumped on and pickaxe his head 😎
If you're new to fighting wolves, take a hoe and some stone with you!! Raise the ground under your feet and the wolves shouldn't be able to catch you. This way, you can shoot them from a distance!
Won't you need to pop up a crafting station first?
@@YuliyValenko hmm, maybe. But even if you do it wont be really a big problem if you do it early before the wolves see you
