Hospitals and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided .
It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care.

Agreed. I would love to see the benefits of increased nuts in those who eat WFPB vs those who are veg or vegan but not WFPB, and those who eat animal products. The difference could be that the latter groups all show a difference when swapping fats from animal products and/or vegetable oils for fats in nuts (a whole food). And it could even be that the effect only shows up for the vegans if they’re swapping high-saturated fat content oils (coconut and palm) for nuts, and that no or little effect shows up when reducing olive oil and increasing nuts (effect on LDL I mean…refined oil may still show other harms). I’d really love to see more studies around all health issues where those eating WFPB are included.

With the plant cell wall crushed and all the fat readily able to be absorbed, more will gain weight, and we all know what issues that leads to.
Also, much nut butter is mixed with hydrogenated oils which have trans fats which is one of the worst things you can eat.
