- Here's my take on Erroll Garner and Johnny Burke's 'Misty', recorded live at Mr. Vain. / mrvainbrisbane
Garner was inspired to write 'Misty' while on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago. As the plane was landing, he looked out the window and saw a rainbow through the haze, and immediately started composing the song. Garner first recorded 'Misty' in 1954, and it has also been sung by Dakota Staton, Sarah Vaughan, Chris Connor, Johnny Mathis, Buddy Greco, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Keely Smith, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford, Andy Williams, Della Reese, June Christy, Peggy Lee, Vic Damone, and many others.
I hope you enjoy it!

Beautifully played. One of my favorite songs to play on piano or guitar.
Thanks, Brian! It's one of my favourites too. Particularly Sarah Vaughan's recording-divine!
...that music I hear...
I love that line! "... a thousand violins begin to play, or it might be the sound of your 'Hello'..."
NICE BRO
Thanks, cj403la!
