Exandria Unlimited was the first Critical Role series I viewed. This was the point where I became addicted. Thank you Opal and Nancy for making a old man laugh till his ribs hurt.
I love how the CR cast has always talked about Liam as the intense, and always in character player, someone who brings the energy of being in the moment so powerfully that they feel incited to be in character better. And I love how Aimee Yes And-ed him into a stupor, so caught unawares that he can only play keep up. It's the out of control whirlwind of chaos (that the entire table is riling up into more amd more madness) that he can only follow and pick up a semblance of normalcy from. That table is insanely chaotic, and it's only mildly chaotic when considering the "average" dnd table Lol
I do love how he's taking a backseat and letting the newer players (and Matt) take the spotlight and drive the story. He's there to support, a true team player

I'd think of "she knows what she's doing" as "she's a skilled improviser" rather than the mechanics, but honestly she's also picking things up pretty well for a first-timer!
I love how the whole thing started with "we need to sneak into the city, I'll cause a distraction," immediately followed by "I'll help with your distraction" and then "I'll cause a distraction too" and everyone else deciding to join in with "causing distractions" until the whole scene became all about them each loudly drawing attention to themselves as they "sneak" into the city.
For some people, D&D immediately just awakens a passion in them, like pure playfulness, commitment to bits, etc. In his podcast with Sam about the original game, Liam described Laura immediately going into and staying in character as Vex with no hesitation. Some people feel awkward when they first play D&D. Others feel alive.
Props to Liam for going with it, but Aimee's double 20 was so perfect i am sure god with some angels was watching and was like, oh wait no no no we gotta see this shit.
