Had a few questions asking me how I set these up so here you go 😊 Hope you enjoyed the ricefish update as well! Be sure to follow me on Instagram @ryowatanabee for more pictures and updates
If rice fish are hard to find many types of guppies can be used in place, the most important thing is that the fish is a surface breather and remains semi small, hope this helps :)
Your channel was the first time I'd ever heard of rice fish and I recently found some of the blue rice fish at 3:56 ! I have some in a heavily planted vase in my room! And thank you for this video, I'm gonna multiply the heck out of the buce's I bought and then share the love with my fishkeeping friends!
Great vid Ryo! One substrate that I like to use with tissue culture orchids is high quality Sphagnum moss. It has anti bacterial properties and If you get the really high quality stuff (not the compressed dry Sphagnum) it will come back to life. I just wet the moss with my regular orchid water (orchid fertilizer added) and the orchid seedlings make the transition from the sterile environment to the outside world without problems. Of course with orchids you slowly (over the course of a few weeks) lower the humidity so that the leaves harden off. You're better off keeping aquarium plants at 100% humidity so that you can more easily transition them to the aquarium. Cheers, Chris
Your positive attitude is so contagious. Would love to see the 60planted be fed the ember Tetras are so beautiful now. Muchlove from Pagosa Springs Colorado.
Already rocking that Uniqlo cup noodle shirt!! so cool - they sold out super fast here in Melbourne. Great video as always Ryo - can't wait to see you making your own pond one day
You've definitely inspired me to restart on my dad's mini ponds 😤👌 it's only been a month so far so we'll see how it goes -- well definitely try out the small farms
hi loved the video i have an old gold fish bowl if i fill it with quartz gravel and put some anubias nana petite in it would i have to cover the bowl up with cling film and mist it every day and what that spray called that smells like mint cheers
I really like what you doing there. After seeing this, I will definitely try to set up some simple Wabi-Kusa. For a start in a small plastic container with Bucephalandra or Anubias, perhaps. I am curious how it will grow for me. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your videos are always encouraging love to experiment from my end. I got few questions 1. Anubias in the glass jar you added substrate of ada and what are the other fertilizers you used. I want to try from my side. 2. You are trying to propagate busifalandra In the anthracite will it grow. Kindly advice I will be starting after after your advice
amazing video..u r best..mini ponds are beautiful..plz can you suggest me some plants which can i grow in emerged in my mini pond type tank 30cm 18 cm 12cm
I think I'm finally going to set up one of these rice fish mini ponds. I've watched a few of your videos on them. It doesn't seem like they require a lot of water really. Trying to pin down the mininum water volume needed.
Don't know if my question will be asked after one year of this video released but I wonder how water can keep being clean from CO3 and ammonia unless you change it from time to time? Is one big plant enough to consume all the contamination fish produce?
Is there an update on this video? I started something similar.... 7 types of Bucephalandra, but whit plantsoil and small lava rock from JBL. btw. great video's Ryo...
I have never seen rice fish for sale here in Bangkok. Perhaps too hot? How do you keep birds from eating the fish? I use a noise and flasher motion detector for my outside fountain. By the way, what happen to Brownie?
It gets 40 degrees C here in the summer so I don’t think it’s because of the heat. Birds don’t really come close to the mini ponds. Browny is in Singapore with my mother
0:57 I am trying to find something similar to this container you have, any information? I'm trying to make a small growing area for my plants before i put them into my tanks.
Hey buddy! I was wanting to do propagation like that but i have a question though. Once propagated that way, means its not submerged. When they are planted in a tank fully submerged are they not going ti rott?
Ryo Watanabe that's cool. Thanks. But there are some aquatic plants that are ok to slowly converting to immerse form. Like i did let my bacopa caroliniana grow out the tank when i found out the it flowers so nice.
hello, I have 2 suggestions 1) I would not close the lid of your containers because plants need CO2 and if you leave them in opened air, they have unlimited amount. But there is only so much CO2 in a container until the next time you open the lid again. 2) Instead of your gravel, you might try a good soil for plants.

I test all... thé best is dennerle soil
Come on ADA, sponsor this kid!
I wish rice fish weren't so hard to find in the US, they seem like such an easy patio pond fish!
I agree completely. For now I’m using golden white cloud minnows. It’s the best I can come up with
In France they are banned...
@@lukasleclercq6860 why?
im in Thailand and im also get inspired by his rice fish but cant find them

oh to be a grasshopper nibbling on a leaf in a well-maintained rice fish pond in japan

Green water good👍🏽
I love the idea of a larger pond.
Very interesting natural aquariums
Awesome video! Glad I found your channel!
Great vid Ryo!

Thank you for the tip. Really appreciate that 👍👍
@@RyoWatanabee the moss also propagates pretty quickly, especially in a setup you did with the aquatic plants or as a tray in the sun.
Your positive attitude is so contagious. Would love to see the 60planted be fed the ember Tetras are so beautiful now. Muchlove from Pagosa Springs Colorado.
Nice Japan 😍 and also your Anubias 😍
Wow it's beautiful bro
Love your videos please continue to bring us more!?!!
Hi loved this you inspired me to make my first outdoor ricefish pond
Already rocking that Uniqlo cup noodle shirt!! so cool - they sold out super fast here in Melbourne. Great video as always Ryo - can't wait to see you making your own pond one day
Great set up with the ponds like the idea growing our the plants 👍😎🐟🐠
I used old salad/meat containers for my grow out bins. I do the same with my monte carlo, and weeping moss.
This is my first video from your channel . Thanks YT for the recommendation. More power Ryo! Road to 100k.
Just took the biggest dump ever. great video. 10/10 would recommend.
Really like the jars. I have an old 2 gal drum goldfish bowl that I am going to turn into a terrarium with Anubis, cryptocoryne and Bucephalandra.
Nice done👌🏻 greetings from the Netherlands 😁
I see Nuphar japonica with the Hydrocotyle. Great plant.
5:48 sounds like a great plan!
Agreed 👍
Great video . Inspired to start one...
You've definitely inspired me to restart on my dad's mini ponds 😤👌 it's only been a month so far so we'll see how it goes -- well definitely try out the small farms
That's great building up future material!
Yes, so you’ll never run out :)
Another awesome video mate
Love your videos as always.
Thank you :)
Very nice aquarium and I appreciate your plant culturing process 🙂👍
hi loved the video i have an old gold fish bowl if i fill it with quartz gravel and put some anubias nana petite in it would i have to cover the bowl up with cling film and mist it every day and what that spray called that smells like mint cheers
Ricefish also hard to find in europe which is unbelivable 😆
Loved your video
aquatic plants are great when they are underwater but I also like the emersed version. :)
I love your shirt 😅
Ditch the fine gravel, use hydroponic ceramic media. Use a much larger, taller container.
I really like what you doing there. After seeing this, I will definitely try to set up some simple Wabi-Kusa. For a start in a small plastic container with Bucephalandra or Anubias, perhaps. I am curious how it will grow for me.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Very beatifull
I learn so much from you ♡
Thanks 😊
Very nice matter. Greetings from Poland 😉👍
Thank you 😊
Good stuff, I think I'll try this!
Go for it! Its pretty fun to watch the plants grow
fish water plants Ryo great combination.
haii Bro awe videos we love it
Hey Ryo, Love your vids! It would be nice for you to do a vid on how the grow out farms are doing. I have some Buce and plan on doing similar.
beautiful i love japanese gadens
Thanks
Hi Ryo... Can we see an update on the Bucephelandra
8:47 nissin cup noodles ftw lol
I wonder do you often open that jar to exchange air? I mean that anubias need co2 to grow right?
I'm ur big fan❤ ur vedios u do great job for your age
My aquarium plant is just guppy grass n hornwort. I'm newbie :))
Ringo Yosep Casela stick to it lol its easy to grow lol
Your videos are always encouraging love to experiment from my end.
I got few questions
1. Anubias in the glass jar you added substrate of ada and what are the other fertilizers you used. I want to try from my side.
2. You are trying to propagate busifalandra In the anthracite will it grow.
Kindly advice I will be starting after after your advice
Love the cup noodle shirt🍜🍜🍜
you should make some water changes in the rice fish pond because if you only add water the water will get too hard as time goes by
quick question, how many hours of light they need? is the light sunlight?
How is those BUCEPHALANDRA grow now? any update video? I've used soil and the lava volcano for few Buce species, but the result were not good....
Where did you get the stand you use for the planted 65?
It’s a GEX stand
Can I do the same for other types of anubius ???
amazing video..u r best..mini ponds are beautiful..plz can you suggest me some plants which can i grow in emerged in my mini pond type tank 30cm 18 cm 12cm
കൊള്ളാം 👌

Hi Ryo.. would like to see a follow up video of the setup
I updated in my last video
Good day. Just came across your channel. Great content, look forward to other videos. Greetings from Costa Rica...👍😉🐠🌱🌿
You used only Laterite to plant mini anubias and Bucephalandra?
Супер
What volume of water in each mini pond? Are plastic planters healthy for petsmart minnows?
hi there ryo , is there any aquarium shops or fish farms in Singapore selling rice fish ?
Where can i find that light ?
Hi what is the brand and name of the donut fish food that you give to the ricefish i would like to buy some ?
Love your content! Keep it up!
Thank you so much 😊
I think you should call that aquascape tank as "plants islands" 🤗
Hey @Ryo is this anthracite a crushed coal?
how many ppm of spray fertilizer is in that spray bottle
Wow great idea, might try it. Can i use those plants in an aquarium later? Love your garden by the way
👍👍👍
Great video! I love watching and seeing the updates on your projects! You have been doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work! 👍🙌🌱🐟🌿🙏
Don't know if my question will be asked after one year of this video released but I wonder how water can keep being clean from CO3 and ammonia unless you change it from time to time? Is one big plant enough to consume all the contamination fish produce?
Are u sure that the spray doesn't have pesticides in it?
We have akadama and benibachi substrate in my country too imported from your beautiful country japan great substrate for advanced shrimp keeping
Yes, akadama is really popular for fish/shrimp keepers :)
Hi! Was wondering how you planted the buce? Did you bury the rhizome?
No, just the roots under the soil
Not sure what it is about your vids but I love them! I'm not even a freshwater hobbyist! I'm curious though...
It could be you like Ryo's enthusiasm and contagious optimism?
Thank you 😊
Is there an update on this video? I started something similar.... 7 types of Bucephalandra, but whit plantsoil and small lava rock from JBL.
btw. great video's Ryo...
nice job !
what's the name of the redish plants in the 60 planted tank please ??
How long is your light cycle for the farm?
About 5 hours + some sunlight
Have you changed your camera? The video is super fine.
Have you tried beta ponds? I been thinking about it
Hey if I make a setup like this will the plants die back if I eventually plant them underwater? Thank you for the info 😇
0:57 I am trying to find something similar to this container you have, any information? I'm trying to make a small growing area for my plants before i put them into my tanks.
How wet should the substrate be?
pretty wet. damp substrate is good but not too much
Loved the video, looking forward to also making content like this! Very cool that you can do a variety of projects around your house hahaha 👍🏻👍🏻
Sometimes those pots if it is terra-cotta the water can absorb into it and run out
where in Japan is this?
How to make it submerge plant without melting?
It might melt, it might not. If you don’t want it to melt, then you got to do a submerged plant farm.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey buddy! I was wanting to do propagation like that but i have a question though. Once propagated that way, means its not submerged. When they are planted in a tank fully submerged are they not going ti rott?
No it won’t rot.
Emersed to submerged is ok 👌
But submerged to emersed is not good
Ryo Watanabe that's cool. Thanks. But there are some aquatic plants that are ok to slowly converting to immerse form. Like i did let my bacopa caroliniana grow out the tank when i found out the it flowers so nice.
present!
Give us an update on your arowana please
Please update the buciphalandra growth
do you have update on this?
