I feel Gram woulda enjoyed sitting on my porch here in Oklahoma and pickin’ with my friends…..he was doing what we all were- unfortunately didn’t survive the experiments…. God bless all who love his music.
These rare live recordings are priceless. Thanks for posting. Just hearing him talk... Discovered Ingram in 74 and have never looked back. Read the book "20,000 Roads".

Thank you for this - I truly cannot get enough Gram Parsons. You have to wonder what might have been had he not left us at such a young age. As it is, his influence will continue for generations to come.
Dear lord this is good!!!! 40 years ago today our favorite Gram passed on! This absolutely just made my day....was poking around RUclips and for some reason just thought to check for some Gram...wasnt even thinking about the day's significance. Ive actually never heard this recording before and Im a total Gram-o-phile. Thanks for sharing, may this music last forever!
@@mattthompson9826 yeah thanks Matt i 've read those and i would add Breakfast in Nudie Suits plus Rogan's biog in the Byrds Timeless Flight', though the former is about the Submarine Band. I really hope one of the living participants of that tour finds the literary urge to give a first hand account. Probably never happen now but i live in hope.
MrPhilfridge yep also Road Mangler Deluxe discusses it a little bit. And Emmylou is said to be working on her Memoirs and I am hoping she will cover this era in some detail.
MrPhilfridge I would like to interview Phil and investigate Gram’s death a little more. There is something very suspicious that hasn’t been addressed in all the accounts I have read.
Jealous! But I've heard a few Burrito Brothers live bootlegs, none of which were much good. I gather that they had somewhat of a shambolic reputation as a live act. So, how were they when you saw em? Either way, an unforgettable nite of music, I bet! Cheers! 🦃👍🦃👍🦃👍
I saw Gram with the Byrds in London 1968, and the Burritos in Dec. 1970 after Gram had left. I found a recording on YT a while back of the very same Burritos gig, they were awesome.... I guess he put more effort into the Fallen Angels as this recording is great.
Gram was just the most beautiful singer ever.Funny story,i have a framed pic of Gram and one day my sons friend came in to the loungeroom and saw it..she said "your Dad,right?" :) what can i say? in MY dreams! my lad does resemble Gram i must say and like me is a huge fan :)
Kinda accidentally came across these Gram Parson posts. Such a unique voice. Had only heard a little of his music before. Love his singing. Always loved Emmylou Harris’s music.
Thank you so much for posting this! I have signed the petition, and will encourage my friends to do the same. Now to enjoy some Fallen Angels... for which I again thank you joyfully.
Anyone have ANY IDEA if Emmylou or Fallen Angles ever recorded " If you don't love him" at least that's what I'm guessing she's singing anywhere but here ? . It's such raw Country and such early Emmylou. I can't find it anywhere but here , it's like this Song never existed which I find hard to believe , I love the instrumentals. Anyway I just like to imagine that Grams Wife Gretchen Burrell is in the Audience and Emmylou gives her a look every now and again while singing this.
Thanks , it seems she just sang it Live with " The Falling Angels " this could very well be the only recording if her Singing it or for all anyone knows the only time she did.
I'll check that out and I hope your correct but it sure would have saved me a lot of wondering if they hadn't had it listed as " If you don't Love Him " on the Albums playlist, Yup sorry for ? you but I can only find " Bonnie Raitt " version and it's much , much slower and the Instrumental that I like so much in the " Live Fallen Angels " is not there or I guess it would be the Steel Guitar but since it's so slow it wouldn't really make much sense. Unfortunately I don't like the Slow Version.
Gram sang with Fred and played piano on one of Fred's albums. The song is You Don't Miss Your Water. You can hear Gram's sweet voice towards the end. Fred was noted for being good to younger musicians. He once invited a young Bob Dylan on stage.
@@TR-yi8up I read Keith Richard's book for two reasons. One was to find out from someone who's been there why they start using an addictive substance. Sounds like looking for a little comfort and peace. No problem with withdrawals at first; feels like flu. But then your body can't function without the stuff. And people like Gram may actually have had brain changes from childhood trauma that cause vulnerability. Sad for them and for us.
The sound quality is a little rough here, but the performances are solid, especially compared to the Flying Burrito Bros. live at the Avalon Ballroom, where they opened for the Grateful Dead-- I bought the 2 CD set and was quite disappointed-- they just weren't playing or singing their best That night.

Gram Parsons was really more hard country than he was rock.
And a dynamite live performer. He could really connect. Love the Fallen Angels CD.
Anyone got the story of him playing with Fred Neil? I haven’t read Hickory Wind in years, so I’m not recalling any connection of the two
