Loving the fact that you are building up a vintage toy collection while out sourcing to sell as well. I do the same but my thing is vintage Action Man and Star Wars. Adds a further dimension of fun and excitement to it all.
Yeah construction cost is always a big factor. We looked at exposed aggregate for the whole promenade but there wasn't enough concrete supply locally due to other projects in the area taking the resource
Nice to know the info about the pier walk when it was cordoned off with fencing and dug up there was an old vintage post on top of the earth It was lovely I tried to retrieve it but failed I hope it was reburied to save for the future lol I went to porthcawl chazzas last week I spent £2.50
The Globe - great venue! I saw those Polly Pockets a couple of weeks back and passed as well. Nice work you've done at Porthcawl, it's made a huge difference to the promenade and I hear there's quite a lot planned in coming years on the Pleasure Park site etc.
I am also a civil engineer, primarily highways related mind. I'm surprised you're not greyer after hearing this, having to negotiate with Councils has certainly made me greyer! 😂
@@MasterofPieces yeah S278/ S38 submissions are a ball ache these days. Not sure if it's the same over in Wales but around Yorkshire they are so by the book, no common sense involved 😂
I tried something last night that I'd seen on another video. I ended all of my listings (131 at the time) then posted them all again as sell similar so every item gets a new item number and apparently a 'new item boost'. Within a few hours, I'd sold 7 things, some of which were my more expensive and niche items, and some that had been sitting around for months. You have to be aware of not going over your free monthly listings, but it's worth trying, I also got a bunch of offers through.
Hilarious - I looked at that exact James train plushy in there (its my local charity shop) and decided it wasnt for me haha. Should have checked solds!!
@MasterofPieces I used to have one like that, but it was black with pink hair called shadow from Golden Girl.from 1984 I think it was a knock-off from she ra
Gigamic the company that makes that game makes a few more wooden games, like Quarto, Gobblet, Pylos etc - they all do pretty decent, worth keeping an eye out for.
Last years q4 i had a better Jan than i had Christmas strange really . I had a similar situation with LOL dolls bought a bundle of 11 at boot sale for £35 with accessories i need to go through i wanted to learn more about them . Great vid and nice pick ups
There is no profit in those books. He loves transformers and already has the books so his desicikn was based on,take them home and have doubles or leave them for another person to enjoy. Screwball Scramble might be missing the mirror thing the ball jumps through before it gets to the maze tunnel by the looks, might be worth checking under the game board 👍🏻 that’s stung me before
I absolute love your videos but you've gotta start mixing the sound when editing. One minute I'm cranking the volume up the next minute I'm wacking it way down
@@MasterofPieces Please do - the way you put together your vids and take time to talk off piste about other things make your videos better than your competitors by a strong strong margin. It's literally just the volume haha
Pet hate about charity shops....putting stickers on the front of comics!! Some are impossible to remove without damaging the front of the page even using gum remover. Spoke to a lady who works in one and she has complained to her manager for months about it.
But it's a hobby too. My daughter is a civil engineer and her job is so stressful. I'm an actress but I find going to car boots and charities really relaxing and mindful, and the extra money is a bonus :))
Ha there's a lot of work that goes in before the jobs get to site. Reselling is a hobby and always will be... I'll never pack my full-time job in for it

The charity shops in England are absolute shite compared to the 1s in Wales by the looks of em. All I ever find are Cliff Richard LPs and old tea cups.
hate modern urban architecture its creepy, austere and trying to be 70s brutalist but failing, far better days when we had seaside shelters with seating so us oldies could get out of the wind and take a rest and eat a sandwich on our trips to the coast, don't even have bus shelters in most towns and when they do there is no wind protection and no seating, its like the councils just want us to all die and clear off, and public loos are ugly filthy and never cleaned
Kool video Ian, nice work around Porthcawl !!
Some good find pal . Great video pal
Cheers kev

Finding stuff for the collection is one of the main reasons I do it!!
absolutely loved the insight into your job. fantastic stuff
Ha I might do some more then :)
Usual eclectic mix of stuff, ,,interesting job you have regards Chris G MCICES
Cheers Chris:)
Loved seeing your job! You are hands down the coolest.
Haha cheers lola :)
Great to see a bit about your day job, have been to Porthcawl recently and seen the changes, vast improvement.
The ebay stuff was great, but the real job bit was even more fascinating! Thanks for sharing!
Ha I might go round more sites then!
So interesting to see your full time job! You really put some thought into the finishing with what must of been a small budget and it worked
Yeah construction cost is always a big factor. We looked at exposed aggregate for the whole promenade but there wasn't enough concrete supply locally due to other projects in the area taking the resource
Got to love the passuon you have for your "real job". Love it

Quality vlog, ticked all the boxes for me.Interesting to know your job too Ian.
Appreciate the feedback olly
the intimate neck deep gig is like nothing else, so grateful i got the chance to see them in manchester rebellion, super small venue! so worth it !!
Tickets sold out in seconds. Lucky to get one on the day!! Was amazing. Manchester sounds class
well now i want a full spin off series showing civil engineering stuff. never appreciate how much design goes into places that gets taken for granted
😂😂😂 imagine that
I see you work in your garage. Interested to know about humidity or leaking and insulation etc? Keep up the great work
Ha yeah everything runs out the garage.

Chances of finding a Manowar t shirt ...excellent finds Ian .

Great video mate! My daughter is a civil engineer but she loves the charities too - a chip off the old block 🤣🤣🤣
Ha love to hear that Clara
Crikey that gig went off, I’m going to see Happy Mondays tomorrow night.
Absolute epic gig. Hope you had a good time at happy Mondays :)
Wow that xena comic book. What a find.
Ha I'm not believing that sold listing for 1 second
Some great finds in the charity shops Ian,I'm never that lucky finding graphic novels like those
Yeah having some luck with graphic novels/comics atm
I worked for a civil engineering company from Blackwood. They worked on the garden festival
Oh nice, what company was that?
@@MasterofPieces they were Robinson Jones then changed to Ryan Keltecs. My boss was Adrian Poller

Cos i sell mostly toys Oct and Nov are usually the best months for me. Nice one on the LoLs!!
Interesting when you said (about the books) ‘I’ll leave them incase anyone else is looking for them’ - is that not the point of being a reseller? 😂

What was more exciting? 🤔
The gig or Ian’s civils? 🤩
😂😂
Is it worth selling stuff on vinted ian? E bay to mes a rip off
I don't sell on vinted tbh... like to keep it all in one place. Less fees tho
