  • In Japan, there exists a culinary tradition that’s an absolute feast for the eyes - and for the eyes only. Called shokuhin sampuru, or “food sample,” this little-known yet remarkably detailed process creates delicious-looking food molded from silicone, crafted from resin, and colored with acrylic. In other words, it’s completely fake…and it’s also a multi-billion dollar industry.
