13:25 See that photo? That’s the clearest image you’ll be able to find of a certain psychopathic mute who’s usually in a plane. He’s right behind Chopper’s arm.
To think this game had 26 aircrafts, 32 missions, all voice acting , 30 or so songs, and almost an entire HOUR of cutscenes in 480p, all in a single DVD, is insane.
@JDS12451 To be fair there is a copy of the same guy infront of him in the briefing. I think legit Grimm was looking at Blaze in that story telling scene
By far this is and forever will be my favorite game. The story was masterful and so captivating that it inspired me to enlist in the USAF. Watching the scenes again brings all the memories I had from playing it 10 years ago. Thank you for the upload!
This game came out in 2004 it takes place around 2010-2011 and they chose Puddle Of Mudd to play on the radio... God I miss when games came completed and people had actual taste in music
Huh. From the first time I played it 10 years ago till this day, this game never ceases to amaze me everytime it comes to my attention. I always try not to obsessed / fanboying over something, but if I have to pick a game that *almost* reaches the epitome of perfectness, I'd pick this game. I used to think that this is not very objective because I'm just seeing this game from nostalgia glasses, but watching this vid of cutscene and the gameplay further convince me that I am right
I listened to "into the dusk" when I realized the beat drop and start of chorus for Zero has the same melody as The Unsung War - it's the leitmotif of Razgriz. It could be said that, despite not being shot down canonically, Cipher was the feared demon that became the hero at the end of the journey, that journey marks the first half of the Razgriz legend of Strangereal. The rest of the half, you knew what happened. The Razgriz squadron were hailed not as the demon like Cipher, but as heroes. Yet, they bear the same legend, hence the same leitmotif.
I had to watch this video to keep up with cutscenes since OpenPS2Loader couldn't handle it. I had to fight the 8492 squadron and do that entire mission THREE times, after struggling with it for months. Worth it.
@@six3594 If you have an all right PC, Google "PCSX2". It can emulate the PS2 and runs the Ace Combat games perfectly. That's what the commenter above is talking about.
Ok it's 2020 both in Strangereal and here. Project Aces should give us something this year at some point. Not even asking for a game but like an animation or just written records we can read online.
I cant believe how beautiful this game is, and i guess that i just remembered why i have such a crush on asian women when i looked at nagase's face, simply breathtaking.
I think it's pretty clear despite the ambiguity that they were gonna strike Yuktobania with the SOLG and then drop it on the Osean capital. That makes the most sense.
In all my time spent in ace combat 5,only now i realize with hindsight that there was a major hint towards hamilto being a bad guy,he is the only character that looks VEEERRY distinctive from the others
Fun fact: The carrier that Avril saw was the Kestrel 2 before she enter to Space Elevator, after Huggin and Munnin launched, they found the carrier Admiral Andersen with aircrafts and repair supplies(even in the cutescene before final lauch we see 2 Raptors inside)
If they ever made a stroy where the world needs a radriz again ill be buying 😂😂 where a new set of super rookies taking thier mantel and lead/command by one of the old squad members will be great😊
when the reporter told theres just there of the left, I doubt it. its four including us as a player, 1 capt.bartleet, 2. nagasee. 3. chooper and 4. us.
my friend watched me play through this, and she hasnt a clue of the ace combat lore. she cried when the Kestrel sank.
i did too.
The journey home..
I'm streaming the series to my friend too, and she was legitimately distressed when the missiles came in as well.
Keep that friend close.
wow..
That's Best Friend material right there
That opening never fails to give me chills
bigswordspikedhair same
bigswordspikedhair who does not get chills...
to me, what gives me the most chills is the shocking twist regarding Captain Hamilton.
As always with ace combat
I still tear up. Whenever so hear the story of Bella

Owh thats blaze, the psycho ace 😂
I'd like to think Blaze is Tom Cruise 😊

I miss when DVDs had complete games that worked, and not just a licence to download an unfinished mess
Every great franchise has that golden game that every game after it tries to achieve. Ace Combat 5 is one of those games.
The music in 5 is just amazing 10/10
KKsan its not...its 8492/10
It makes the game

Atention, Yuktobanian fleet, this prime minister Nikanor, representative head of your goverment...
What an autority and powered voice...

11:44 I just realize that Archer glanced at us (Blaze) a little bit in this scene, wow
Ah shit I never noticed that. Keen eye.

He was looking at Genette, probably.

@@lancerthedemonace7581 how’s it going you finish it
This is the year those spooky Belkan documents are gonna come out..
Well it didn’t really go too well all things considered
It appears you're up against Razgriz itself out there...
Sun_skimmer 89 Looks like they were the real Razgriz...not us...

16:35 Cue the "Zero" OST because Cipher was the incarnation of Razgriz and thats why the lyrics are the same as The Unsung War

24:29 I never played this game and still this hits me a train
To think that Pops, AKA, Huckebein the Raven, was the pilot the top ace that Dominic "Vulture" Zubov was ordered to take down in Ace Combat Zero.
This means the mercenary route is the canon
@isaac000215 arguably my two favorite games-- Ace Combat 5 and Ace Combat Zero.
No
It was Mercenary Soldier and Knight
Mercenary until mission 12, soldier (he faced Gault 1), Knight (he forgive pixy)

30:30 same song from the boy's harmonica at ac04
Yeah! Such a cool callback to AC04!
Really loved the VA of Genette (the journalist and narrator).

I haven't played this game in years but this whole video chilled me to the core so many memories I'm thankful ace combat was a big part of it
War never changes
probably the best of the Ace Combat installments. It's still my favorite
this opening makes me tear up thinking about how I played this as a kid endlessly
Here in 2022, the first half of that intro is suddenly getting more relevant to the real world.
best storyline of acecombat series ever.
Seeing this video gave me so many memories, I lost my PS2 a while back sadly, I would do almost anything to play this game again.

This is *the* best Ace Combat game, imo.
Mannnnnn my jet fighter childhood and the theme song "can you take it all awayyyyyyy"
This is my favorite ace combat game
I wonder how much Namco paid to get the license for Blurr, from Puddle of Mudd.
I don't care what anyone says, 'The Journey Home' will always be my favorite AC soundtrack. It's too beautiful.
AC5 were the best ones out there
To think the narrator is the one and only Matthew Mercer
Still the best ace combat game. Let’s argue
AC5 has the best written story, but Zero has the best campaign.
still waiting for those files from the belkan conflict
I tell ya, Maverick does sound like Captain Bartlett!
I'm here so early nobody knows the Belkans are behind it yet.
What a masterpiece

Most of the storyline are told within the gameplay. These are just cutscenes.
If it wasn't for the over the top anti war messages this game would be a masterpiece
It is a masterpiece BECAUSE its anti-war. All the best Ace Combat stories are anti-war.
