Hey!! Congratulations, excellent video. I want to ask you why when I open the ram file in navisworks I can't select a single item, like a vessel or a pipe, like you did ?
When I put command export finished I get a error message saying that '(75,170) Cannot open output file In line 19 of Command/Form Input' What would be the reason for it?
This procedure shows the use of autocolor settings which replicates the same colours in Navisworks which you see in DESIGN module. However if you want to change the color settings during export then you have to specify the color of each and every element at the appropriate hierarchy level (zone, equi, pipe, stru etc.) The typical syntax will be : EXPORT AUTOCOLOUR ALL STRU COLOUR 10
Ok, this can happen due to multiple reasons. Are you trying to export the same STABILIZER site in sample database of PDMS as shown in this video or some other model? If you are trying to export your own model then possibly you have not configured the autocolor setting for your model.
This is not a routine procedure and technically its possibility is limited. This is because converting from a mesh type geometry (navisworks) to a solid geometry (pdms) has limitations.
Godd stuff!! Nice and easy.. job done! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks, this was very informative. Is there any way to get information regarding piping connections from the exported NWD file?
How about vice versa. How to create PDMS file using review model .nwd file with PDMS database .txt in a .rvm or .pdms file with attributes?

Hello
Thank you for the good information.
By any chance, I need Navisworks 2014 so could you share the file with me?

the problem could be the path you are specifying for generating ram file, make sure you have write access to the drive/folder you are specifying.
inspiring... but i have problem when upload to navis had error message,'couldn't load rvm file because the contents are corrupted'.... have a suggest?
The same here, btw. the exported .rvm file as a very small size, like 59KB, so it seems not to have any content.
could you send me the snapshots to show what you are doing, so that may be I can identify the problem
Is the process same for Aveva Marine?
not sure, but it should be similar

Dear Sir,
thanks for the above tutorial.
I am looking for video in which we can convert file from Navisworks to PDMS.

thanks for your sharing
