  • In this LearnElectrics video, we will look at the two-way lighting circuit tests that we must make. The video is about why we do the tests a certain way and what the tests tell us about the circuit.
    We’ve often been asked why there is a certain order to the testing, and why we make those particular tests. And another frequent question is about which wires, which conductors, are actually being tested at any one time. We cannot test every cable at the same time, so we have an order to the testing, a sequence of tests, that ensures that we do test all the conductors.
    Two-way lighting tests are easy to do, we just need to be methodical. And it is one of those skills, that once learnt, will stay with you.
    We begin with a basic two-way lighting circuit, with a three-plate ceiling rose and then apply the various tests to the circuit, identifying which conductors are actually under test at any one time.

      Thanks my friend. yes, treatment going well. Having to work around treatment weeks, they knock my YT schedule for six, but it has to be done. Once again, thanks for your kind thoughts, I intend to beat this. Dave.

    For the IR test we are thought to operate all switches in a sequence instead of just one switch at college?

    • @learnelectrics4402
      @learnelectrics4402  2 месяца назад +1

      If you operate both switches, you will end up where you started. If you start as lights off, flick the first switch makes it lights on, flick the second switch, back to lights off and then test, you are not proving anything. You need to check the wiring in a lights on position. Flick one switch, then test.

      @@learnelectrics4402 but each time u switch one of the switches, you IR test in between them so u still test the strappers each time you flick the switches.
      but is this overkill then and is it better just to flick one switch. Thanks

    Please which meter did you use for the IR test.
