Both Flex and Nasser looked amazing
Flex is what the sport should be.
Size, symmetry and beautiful posing, even today nobody does it better than him, Shawn Ray and Melvin Anthony.💪💯👑
Lee Labrada also belongs in that grouping. All are amazing physiques. My only issue with Flex is he started to use oil in his later years. You can see it in his delts here in his posing routine, especially rear delts.
He liked to oil up his biceps, triceps and shoulders and even calves. I didn't like it when he did it and I don't like it in guys today.
93 Flex when he first turned pro, that was a mindblowing physique.

For me Shawn Ray had the most aesthetically pleasing physique, I just loved his posing routines and his arrogant nature suited him perfectly 😂

It's more solid with a more cobbled appearance and a slightly better division, it just didn't beat the Flex because of the back

All those saying Nasser should have won must have been hitting the crack pipe. Flex was arguably at his best here. Nasser does look great from the front, but he's pure s*** from the back.

Flexs rear lat spread is way worse than nassers...syntholed calves, soft hams and glutes , very narrow asymmetrical lats...
@TheLusianPopa Flex never had a good RLS. But that's apples to oranges because Nasser's was s*** too. That would be the only pose I would arguably give Nasser. Blocky physique, wide waist. Very thick no argument there, but a big soggy back with no detail, a got destroyed by Flex on symmetry, proportion, and muscularity. I would even argue putting Nasser in third behind Francois due to the better overall back development.
@@chrisballard5743 Nasser at east ws wide in the RLS, and he had real calves and some detail in his glute ham tie in.Yes hsi RLS was poor but Flexs was piss poor.
He has a wide waist, but also incredibly wide clavicles.So in many poses he still has a good v taper.
Whats the point of having a narrow waist if you have narrow lats and clavicles also?
I dont see how anyone can give Flex the Abs thigh over Nasser. Nassers v taper is miles better in that pose, despite the wide waist. And hsi quads are bigger.His abs are also more symmetrical, no small feat.
And you have to be really biased to say Flex beats Nasser on a front lat spread.Thats a width pose.Nasser pushed a prime Yates in that pose, something Flex could never do.
So thats at least 3 poses that flat out go to Nasser
muscularity? you do realize Flex was 225 lb in this show, and Nasser was 280? Nasser therefore is far more muscular than Wheeler is.Especially considering they're about the same height.
Ill be generous and give Flex the front double biceps, even though Nasser was amazing in it also.

No matter how you slice it its very close. Yes Flex would likely win the posing rd and symmetry rd over Nasser, and thats how he ends up winning the show.Nasser himself didnt argue the decision.He even admitted he was a touch off in some magazine 30 years ago

Dorian's back goes down as one of the greatest of all time. Nasser comes up short big time in that area. However, Nasser had everything else for sure ! When you compare Dorian next to Nasser with that insane back... just lights out.
@@cnealmartin Nasser was huge but he had fake looking muscles everywhere, an inflammation. Dorian had granite dense grainy tissue everywhere. Contests aint judge on who has the better bodyparts

As a fat, out of shape, middle aged man, I look at this and just shake my head at the commentary. In the past year, I have watched many video's on the champions and competitions of the various generations. I now have an understanding of how contests are judged and don't necessarily disagree with what is being said in the context of how these contests are judged. However, I definitively disagree on what actually looks good to a normal human being. It just 'sounds' insane to comment on Nasser El Sonbaty as if he is not in the best of condition even if according to the standards set, he is not.

Lo curioso es que mueren aquellos culturistas que se vuelven una amenaza para el culturismo. Ahí tienen a Nasser un poliglota que sabia hablar 7 idiomas, los hermanos Mentezer que eran ateos e inventaron el sistema heavy duty. Cedric McMillan también murió después de bailarle por detrás al Schwarzenegger. No lo sé pero algo no me gusta. También steve winberguer (primer juez y el más importante) le dijo a hadi choopan que si queria ganar tenia que tener la nacionalidad de EUA, pues lo hizo y se la dieron. También tenemos otro culturista que ni siquiera entro al 6o lugar que fue Paco bautista, de nacionalidad española. El hombre parecia una gran bestia. Lo mismo, no le dieron ni el 5o lugar y lo mandaban hasta las orillas cuando estaban las preliminares para que nadie lo viera (quien lo va a ver si son mas de 30 atletas y luego hasta la orilla) si el hubiera sido visto, el ganaba un Olympia. Cabe destacar como en las elecciones presidenciales, ya todo está arreglado y planeado, pero la gente no lo entiende, por eso es que se necesita votar, para dejar a la gente satisfecha. En este caso el certamen es una mentira. Ya tienen a los ganadores desde antes de que empiece el evento. Recuerdo que Arnold Schwarzenegger le ganó a Mike mentzer ya después de retirado y esa fue uno de los robos más cínicos del culturismo, busquen esa competencia y verán la gran diferencia y se lo roban porque Mike mentzer no es judio, era ateo. Lógicamente que al no ser judio, ganar un evento pone en riesgo a la federación porque como va a ser posible que un hombre que no es creyente gane una competencia de tanto prestigio. Piensen, despierten ya es hora. Siempre nos han mentido, noticieros, campeonatos, elecciones presidenciales, enfermedades, economía, religión, productos, medicamentos, alimentos, etc.

This is one of the many really stupid video jobs done on BB contests. Unfortunately, it is typical of most. Strange angles, weird partial body shots, are only some of the trash that masqueraded as contest coverage. As an example, when both Flex and Nasser were doing double bicep poses we saw a shot that included only their torsos.
Flex Vs Collman As Shwarzennegger Vs Zane Incompatible. Flex had everything. as does Shwarzennegger. But both try to compete against both these phsics Mistake.
And now Naser is dead for too long now and Flex lost his leg. Whats life eh...

Nas made Flex look thin. He WAS a BEAST!! I really dont know what the Judges were looking at. Of course, Lats and Back belong to Yates. But, I would have HAD to give Yates scores so low on that Front double bicep, he'd been at a deficit he would have had to make up, That just WOULDN'T have been possible that night.
Yates NEVER had a particularly strong FDB. He was crap in it from 94 on...so why would the judges all of a sudden penalize him in 97?
The fact of the matter is Dorians worst 2 poses were always( esp in 97) the front relaxed and fdb.Which happen to be Nassers best shots by far...so yes there is a huge discrepancy in those 2. But lets be honest, the discrepancy in the 2 back poses in Dorians favour over Nasser is just as great.
The remaining 4 poses are all close. FLS SC ST and AT.Id give a slight edge to Yates in the FLS due to his superior structure and lats, and a slight edge to Naser in the AT due to his superior midsection.
The 2 side poses are hard to judge. Dorian hits them better and is harder but Nasser has superior delts ad arms, esp in the side chest. Lets say for the sake of argument they slit the 2 also.
In the final tally Yates will still win FLS/ST/BDB/BLS and Nasser wins FDB/AT/SC
Personally i think Yates won the side chest hands down and theres footage that clearly shows it.
