In this video, we discuss the issues with WoW Consumables and the gold cost of playing the game being overly taxing. Should there be a more effective way to pause buffs or perhaps make consumables more accessible to players? Let me know in the comments Mythic+ players!

M+ is so insanely costly and there is NO return on investment for running the dungeon. God forbid you're a Hunter and have the bow-durability bug to deal with too which guarantees a large repair bill even if you don't die. And since M+ is such a time investment if you want to get higher, you're not doing something else in the meantime that makes money back.
Less than 1,000g for timing a +10 or higher when some World Quests give 900g is so insulting
Until you do 14s+ just use lvl 2 flasks costing 100g each lol, food/rune etc adds so much less than people think. I am baffled that this is still being done so much in low level keys
I got 16,000 gold out of a pinnacle cache once. But usually like 1000-1600 or 3200ish rarely.
The dps doesn't really matter, but kicks and stuns do. You can time a +10 with low dps as long as the mobs are well managed and the mechanics are done well. So good dps are needed.
I think the problem is more on the side of raw gold gains has gone down since DF and the repair costs have gone up quite a lot actually too. I am currently making my gold by getting it from other players. Like doing weekly mining and sell the bismut. I made quite some gold by doing this since week 1 of TWW. And for example pay attention to the satchel for heroic dungeons. I got 4 runes out of a < 10 minute Ara kara heroic on my tank this weekend, and they sell for 1400-1500 at the moment. But the raw gold income has gone down, imo. Maybe level some extra chars and do the weekly worldboss on it for ~1000 gold each...
Pausing pylon also only works for the 5 people in your group in the raid group not the entire raid
Oh dear, I read that it was updated to those in range, might be wrong though
It's funny how the comments are full of "This is all because of the WoW-Token!" - meanwhile this part of the game was always there and maybe even worse back in the day. Farming for stuff like even your first mount and weekly consumables for the raid was such an existential part of the game - to be fair - there also wasn't that much more to do anyway :D
I'm a little bit torn on the matter. For a lot of people (me included) - M+ (and maybe Raids) are the game 99% of the time (at least in a perfect world). Levelling is a nuisance, so is questing and farming. I want to log on at 7pm, assemble a group, run dungeons or a raid for 3-4 hours straight and log off.
But I also understand that WoW is bigger than that and a lot of people enjoy that other side of the game. People love farming ores and herbs for hours. They run old content week after week for some mount or transmog to collect. They quest the same area for the 100th time to level their 200th Fury Warrior, because that's their way to play the game.
Even though I personally don't care for it a whole lot (anymore), WoW is a MMO. It's core is a vast world, with tons of different players who play the game the way they enjoy. And this world also needs an economy. And for that to function, you can't just give players more and more gold. There have to be systems that bring gold into the economy and systems that take it out.
Of course I'd prefer if my favourite activity in the game wouldn't be the gold-sink. I'd much prefer to get 10k at the end of each M+ run and have an access-fee for old raids instead. Or way more crazy expensive mounts from ingame-vendors. This way I'd never have to worry about gold, other people would. I guess sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. My hope for the future is that a lot of the economy will revolve around player housing in the next expansion. Another part of the game I don't care for in the slightest. Hopefully I can make a fortune selling all the carpets and cushions I loot from M+? Thanks Blizzard?
The Real solution is putting Mats IN mythic and adding Mythic+ Specific reagents. Think Thunder fury or Sulfuras but you know maybe not so fucking strong. These should be able to make side-grades with unique a flavorful effects and designs. The issue is Raiding doesn't make gold outside of Vendor and your share of gold from the mobs. You'll end up covering repair costs with what you earn in the raid. Add consumables in and it's immediately a negative. But you get a tradeable Reagent that someone needs to finish there Transmog set? That should help fill the raid coffer.
It was never that bad in the past.
you can clearly feel the shift at the end of Shadowland (for some weird reason)
There's 2 issues for me.
#1 The fact that they nerfed all past raid (that you could farm in a lightning and have thousand of gold selling the purple loot)
#2 The amount of gold we receive from anything is absolutely garbage. (The only solution i've found is park alt in shadowland for the daily/weekly for the boxes/chest they gives 1K to 3K gold)
obviously the simple thing would be to give us gold/mats in the chest at the end of a m+
Hard agree. Dungeons should be a farm for materials, not just gear
Mythic plus needs to reward a LOT more gold at the end, especially if you don’t get any gear. And ironically in that case, if you can’t use the gear, it’d be worse by how little it can be vendored for.
I don’t have a problem with the consumables because they’re used across all forms of content and your time can be wasted everywhere. It just gets really bad with mythic plus
Make it so consumables only run out during combat. Rather than it being on a timer, it should be on a % value that depletes based on how much combat you do, the same way durability only depletes during combat
No. Better yet.
Make seperate slots where u put multiple stacks, of the consumables u aim to use, in.
Then let their duration be additive and be a big timer like "100 hours worth of this buff in the current stack" and have these stacks be toggleable...
That way u can toggle them on and of and still have the money sink that blizzard wants.
They're selling gold for real cash, that's why
@@JohnnyJazZzZz trueeeee
I am surprised you haven't tried +10 yet. Did you do KSH in DF S3/4 at all? If so give a 10 a go, you'll see how much more horrid this xpac really is.
10s are not that hard tbh
s3 was a joke until +25, and s4 was fated aka basically a meme.
10s are doable at 600 ilvl if you're competent this season, and 600 is super easy to get to
We've been doing 10s in my group a month into the season or so with 615~ ilvl.
All employed, some of us shift working before you muster up something weird.
Idk. I don't get it, keys aren't that hard and I found SL S1 with prideful fisting your healer and tanks getting massively white swung way more annoying.
Just for some perspective what's possible, people pug keys with double the modifier of 10s and the highest keys getting run have tripple the modifier of 10s.
But bitching and whining is easier than just learning the game I guess?
10s are not hard. Haven't been all season. I have pugged 2/3 roles to KSH and am working on heals now. No problems.
Definitely might just to get it under my belt
@@nymphia21 no one said they were. They said it's a gold sink even when successful, because it is.
M+ cost like 500k per seasons maybe more if you have multiple characters
Tokens have made gold irrelevant. I don't do M+ for gold, don't care if I don't get any. What feels bad is running m+ after m+ and getting *nothing*...no gear, no crests, not even a fractured currency (eg "fractured crests").
M+/raid is meant to be a gold sink to get gold out of the economy. Given that now players can buy gold with money its needed now more than ever. If M+ awarded more gold thab what was spent everyone who dosent also raid would be millionaires.
Blizzard could move food buffs or flasks to a npc. Keeps money from going to players and that could help, but then they would screw over crafters. Alternatively they could remove the wow token but we all know Blizz will never do that.
Maybe not buffs but keeping those buffs like paysing pylon or allows buffs to persist desth
Since when is m+/raid meant to be a gold sink. Hard disagree with that bizarre take
@@briancates3576 literally since forever. That's the only reason for repairs is to be a gold sink.
Weather you agree or not dosent matter, that's why it's in the game lol.
That's why as blizzard removed other forms of gold sinks from the game the cost of repairs have increased.
@ repairs are a gold sink, yes. Dungeons and raids in and of themselves are not
The amounts of gold people are complaining is laughable. During week one of Vault in Dragonflight, I got forced to put the expensive enchant on a shitty weapon which costed 210 000 gold that night and dropped to 110 000k by Sunday. All and all to get a worse loot luck compared to week one PUG.
This is my biggest prob with mythic plus. 2000+ gold should be an award.
Wow tokens is how you get gold.
Still hate blizzard for making dragonflight consumes not work anymore was so lovely cheap and some times even better if u needed 1 stat more than another.
@cunix8721 I feel like I dont have this info, what exactly do you mean?
@@ShawnSetGO Basicly 2 months into The war within u could still use dragonflight consumes. Meaning u didn't have, to buy war within expensive consumes which made blizzard kinda mad. Because nobody was dropping gold on war within consumes, but basicly like runes and flask etc etc, for cheaper just less stats but still good.
@@ShawnSetGO U can even go look up auction house think some of it is called howling runes instead of the oil u put on now
You shouldn’t be pushing keys if you aren’t willing to use the best pots to help your group. R2 consumables for 2500+ and R3 consumables for 3k+
Imo: Consumables dont time down in a friendly city
@@SkullDuggery77 simple QoL improvement
'sum plz' would just become more of a problem when peoples portals are on cd
Heres the solution. Take M+ and make it a seperate game mode. Its not something that should be in an MMO it went from being a fun time waster that was also rewarding. To a toxic wasteland thats gotten entire ability categories nerfered. Just take it out of the game.
No brainer a key should be 250 to 2500g on completion.
@@theJoPanda at least break even for sure
I always flask and mana oil up, tried Zekvir last night ?? For an hour 👎🏻💩
I do my weekly attempts too, it's not great lol
Zekvir reminds me of a Dark Souls boss. You almost get it on the first attempt then spend the next 2 hours getting the win. There is alot of luck with RNG involved and Branns interupts. Classes such as Paladin have a much easier time with it.
Blizzard increased the gold reward from 50g to 150g. Isn't that enough for you plebs? xD
Yeh M+ is a massive gold sink and I think it's by design. The WoW Token makes Blizzard alot of money.
I miss the days of the mission table and passive gold income for casual players.
WoW is feeling more like Gacha day by day
Lol. stop being poor.
This is how rich people feel irl when people cant afford food....
Trueee
Lol, just buy gold from blizzard
I play a mail wearing class in m+. On average one m+ run will cost me $3K gold with all consumables and repairs. This is a timed key.
What. lol.
@@robertlenning332Yeah that sounds pretty overblown. You’ve got the flask, rune, weapon enchant and food. Theres no way for one of each that’s even close to $3k. And if you time it, the assumption is there’s little to no wipes too. I’ll take $1k but not $3k.
And as a mail wearer you aren’t switching between tank and healer so you’re not swapping out the leg enchant either; which I do on my monk at times because I only have one pair of legs to use. And that’s $1k each swap
1k is also unrealistic. Rune alone cost like 1200g.
