*Love my used black currant coloured Scion IQ. I've driven it just over 30,000 miles in 3 years and it still feels like new with over 100k total miles on the engine and counting. Scion iQ is the single most reliable and safe micro-sub-compact vehicles on the market and the only Japanese Kei car made by Toyota readily available in the US market.*
The US version of this vehicle was marketed under the Scion brand. My iQ celebrated its 10th birthday last July, its been trouble free since I bought it. After watching your video, I excitedly headed to my iQ and discovered that the seat belt holders don't seem to be in my vehicle. 💔
I have the 2013 Scion IQ. Same. Runs great after 10 years. Perfect city car as I can park anywhere. I don’t have the push button start. I don’t have leather or faux leather seats and I asked the dealer repeatedly about different seats. Hmm. There’s no strap to lift up the back seat either.
The Scion IQs have little hooks on the top of the rear seat belt housing you can slide the buckle up to and hang them off of so they don't rattle around.
I tend to use my iq for Supermarket shopping so keep the rear backrests folded down. The rear headrests can be removed and both stored in the compartment underneath the rear seat - a small estate ! A clever little car quite reasonable on longer journeys too.
Hi there you didn't mention the recess for your sunglasses at the front of the gearshift console! Also that the rear headrest fit into the dish of the bottom of the rear seat when you fold it down.
Somewhere there is a switch for the airbag on and off and you have to insert the vehicle key and turn it. If you have the keyless ignition you need to extract the emergency key from the side of the key fob. Once turned off the display by the radio should illuminate to say it is turned off, don't forget to turn it back on again once you are done. I believe its under the steering wheel area if you are in UK (RHD car). Or page 125 in handbook
I want to buy a mini car for tight city parking. I already own a Honda Jazz, but I can't fit it into hmm... irregular parking spaces. I am considering a Smart fortwo, which is ideal size wise. But the IQ is cheaper and probably a better ride. What are your experiences people with parking in historical city centers? I see that it has a great turning cycle, but it is 30 cm longer than the Smart. On the other hand, it's one meter shorter than my Jazz. Advice is appreciated!
I live in a big city, and parking is a breeze with the IQ. A Smart is smaller, but the IQ is a much better car, and also a much better driving car. Can recommend it for sure, it fits almost everywhere.

They're great cars! I believe the storage under the rear seat is for the rear head rests. Cheers

Yeah it is reliable and reasonable interior quality too!
It's not a Kei car.
@@BobSaint Allthough it does fit the size requirements just not displacement and poweroutput
@@njlschpprkjrsvk Check that again - Kei regulations demand width of no more than 1.48m, and Toyota iQ's width is 1.68m.
@@BobSaint im dumb sorry
I never knew about the seat belt holder!
Wow. I literally thought there was no boot with seats up. I thought it made you choose between seats and rear passenger.
tiny boot hehe
great video! super useful!
Very nice compact car. Love the colour
Thank you so much for sharing this. 🙏🏽👍🏽
thanks for watching

@@toms_garage Hi. Battery ok. I was wondering whether a fuse has blown
@@Discodude5900 I am not sure, can you get it to a mechanic, tow truck or something
It's ok, the garage picked up my car today. Should get it back tomorrow. Thanks
I love this car! ❤ I have it in the limited edition - City Racer ❤
Hi! Do you know where to buy leather covers for the seats?
I don't sorry, these seats were factory fitted.
Hi there you didn't mention the recess for your sunglasses at the front of the gearshift console! Also that the rear headrest fit into the dish of the bottom of the rear seat when you fold it down.
good shout!
Wow. Had the car a few years now. Didn’t know about storage under the rear seats or the seat belt holder
Thank you for this info. Do you know how to switch Passangers airbag off? Plz as worrying about my dog.

I have a 2012 Toyota Scion iQ and I don’t have any of those features 😆 but it would be nice if I did.
do you have the seatbelt holders in the rear?
@@toms_garage that’s the only thing I have 😂
@@81redddd oh that is good
Hey now we have the "storage" in the back too 😂
What would be the best suited engine out of those three for an IQ ?
Hello where are the isofix points in 2009 IQ model please?
I purchased a tire and wheel and it fits just right on top of the folded down back seat
Great. But how do you turn the seat belt chimes OFF?
you buckle your seatbelt in :)

A blast to drive .. and the parking is unbelievable.. i park in really tight spaces.. and very reliable ;)
The rear headrests store under the rear seat
Does it have a spare wheel?
no. i think it has sealant and a compressor
How are people supposed to sit in the back seat
it's a bit tight especially behind the driver's seat, but i have driven with full car no problem
@@njlschpprkjrsvk you must have tiny legs lol
There's rear seats?????
I thought they were a 2 seater....
Cool little cars though
yeah 4 seats in total :)
