I love how everyone's personalities and tones of voice still come out in their styles of singing. AJ still sounds like a cowgirl, Rarity still sounds like a fashionista and Pinkie still sounds like someone you'd want planning your party. Their singing wasn't drowning out the ponies they were and I love that.

The "oh how I used to wonder what friendship could be" is a call back to the opening lyrics when twilight says "I used to wonder what friendship could be,
Until you all shared its magic with me." that's heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time because you get this feeling of proudness for twilight because of how much she has grown from day one but it hurts because you know her journey No, our journey with her has ended.... i never knew it could be this deep

I just realized! It brings so many memories back
Well put! This whole song is such a love letter to this series and references the opening and the Elements of Harmony. Pinkie Pie's "the party will still be here, with some fun new games to try" = "tons of fun", Rainbow Dash's "big adventure's waiting, obviously" = "big adventure", Applejack's "and it's something true to pass on down to generations yet to come" = "faithful and strong" and references her representing the Element of Honesty, Rarity's "and we'll never stop believing in the generosity of the friendships we've won" = "a beautiful heart" and references her presenting the Element of Generosity, and lastly Fluttershy's "and because of the love that I feel for every single living creature is something that is real" = "sharing kindness" and references her representing the Element of Kindness.
They've all reached their goals and have achieved their dreams, Rainbow Dash has not only joined the Wonderbolts but became its leader, Pinkie Pie is still having fun and spreading happiness with Cheese Sandwich and their foal, Rarity has attained her dream of becoming a famous fashionista/tailor (though she realized Canterlot wasn't all that she thought it was), Applejack is still working her family farm and helping to raise and teach the next generation of Apples, and Fluttershy is still caring for animals and sharing kindness alongside Discord who has found his own, non-destructive path in life where he can use his abilities for good instead of evil and remain Fluttershy's friend. And, of course, Twilight Sparkle has become the new Princess of Equestria, having finished her friendship lessons, founded her own school of friendship, brought together the different races with the help of her friends, and now has a protege of her own whom she is teaching the magic of friendship to.
Truly, this last episode and this song are shining examples of how to satisfactorily end a series. It still makes me so sad though, because this series brought me a lot of joy and taught me some stuff as well. But, better that it ended on a high note instead of dragging on like some other shows unfortunately do, until eventually petering out. It's unfortunate though that G5 has turned out to be such a disappointing successor, or at least that is what I hear. Can't say I'm a fan of the CGI myself, I prefer 2D.

I remember when they first showed it on tv. I was still in 2-3rd grade. Im 17 now. and i cant belive im still there crying..gee..
This show will be in my heart forever. This show bought me so much joy to my life. No words can describe how much i will miss them.

I saw it back in like 2014-2015 when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, even though I am still living my childhood, this has enough nostalgia to make me teared up
I'm 20 and always wanted to watch this show. Always snuck glances at the tv when big sis watched it. But whenever I wanted to watch it they looked at me weird and with the bullying I went through at school at the time, I didn't need more judgment. But when the pandemic started I began to binge the series and it was everything I hoped for and more. And the last episode felt like I was losing friends I knew for years. I wish I'd watched years ago, but I'm grateful that it helped get me through 2020. This show is special and it will forever be in our hearts.

I've literally watched mlp since I was young and now it's ended it's so sad and you realise how much feelsies you get, like you literally see her at first with no friends to becoming a powerful unicorn and 'taming discord' and then you see her turn into the princess of friendship, then you see the young new element spirits of the elements of harmony, then the mane 5 grow old and will eventually die and I can't help but think what twilight would think and it's so sad because they literally talk about their friendships as if they are about to die
Obviously Twilight is technically immortal since she is an allicorn, but even tho the mane 6 ( other than Twilight ) look older, the elements will keep them alive since they connected to them spiritually

i have a feeling i understand why i always liked and favorited this show more than any of the other cartoons. it’s because everyone was different and had their own interests, nobody changed for nobody. the show really says that we should always be ourself. i love this show, always & forever.

I have a habit of almost never crying when reading or watching something fictional, yet this is one of the closest times I've come to crying about something fictional. This series is truly one of the main series of my life that I think will influence my life in the future.

Returning brony here. I think that’s what they wanted. They wanted the audience to carry the show’s lessons into the real world and their messages to remain in our hearts for as long as we live. And hopefully, like Applejack said, it’s something true to pass on down to generations yet to come, who will carry out our mission once we’re no longer able to.

I like MLP and it's one of my favorite modern shows.
This was 10 years of my life and you can bet I started bawling my eyes out when I heard the melody of the main theme play at the end of this song. It was a journey and I'm grateful to have been on board.

I cried like two times. Like the main character, I didn’t think I’d be into it but now that I do, I’ve been loving it like five-ever. When I saw this episode, I couldn’t believe it until I started crying.
Just finished the finale and the episode ended beautifully ❤ my favourite part 2:27 their final sing because they show all the major supporting character as a tribute past years thank you to the cast and crew for making this production.

As a brony I’m one to not cry yet I enjoyed the series so much and this last episode really broke me down but it was sooooo good. I literally grew up with this show
I'm now in senior highschool.. ah.. all those years and episodes I'm happy about the ending
I don't think I can ever love other shows as this one because mlp sure did an impact on me a lot
I grew up with My Little pony, this is my childhood, I would watch every season with my best friend! We watched season 9 together and cried from how our favorite show ended, and we may be almost 13-16now, but, we still love this show hopefully, G5 doesn’t ruin everything....

Accidentally clicked on this and spoiled myself but this song shows how much little time I have with show now that I'm on season 9 and to enjoy it while it last. I was a year or two late into its release, started watching it when I was around 7 in 2011. There's this aching feeling every time I listen to this song and I have to cope with the idea that My Little Pony has ended and I kid you not, when the book closed in the episode I sunk into an hours worth of mourning. I've practically grown up with the main 6, learning the friendship lessons in each episode, nit-picking favourite characters and assigning roles with my friends to fit which pony represented each of us (I was applejack), collected dolls and figurines, downloaded the songs onto MP3, this was the childhood I had and I'll forever cherish every moment of it.
Come a day into my old years, if ever a new generation were to mention My Little Pony, I'd find myself smiling, silently thanking the show and the characters for the childhood they gave me

As one story ends another begin, I found this show by accident, I never really even liked MLP. But this show changed my view on it and I legitimately enjoyed every minute of it, was I made fun of yes did I care no. And while the show may end the fandom will continue as long as there are fans who make stories and art this show will live on forever.

If I just listen to the lyrics before Fluttershy’s part I remember the amazing journey that they’ve had and then I hear her sweet voice and it makes me think that that amazing journey is over. Not to even mention when Twilight says “how I used to wonder what friendship could be” and it brings me back to the first episode and the theme song and then the little tune at the very end after they stop singing that is part of the theme song makes tears literally come to my eyes. Never thought this (or any) show could make cry as much as watching the finale for the first time did.
When the last line of the lyrics was sung along with the mlp theme gave me chills

what a great song to end the show. i started watching this show when i was grade 1-2 and loved it so much. i still remember playing with my mlp toys and singing "this day aria". i did lose interest since i was in my growing up stage or idk something like that, but im so glad i came back and watched the whole show. i literally learned so much the past 2 months about friendship that i didn't realize i had to learn about. I'm so thankful for the producers, directors, voice actors, animators, everyone behind my little pony. thanks to them, i now cherish friendship and know that it is very important in life.

I've never had any friends. They were my only friends.. I grew up with them. And like everything else, this cartoon also came to an end. But mlp is not just a cartoon. Mlp taught me friendship. This gives me such a strong feeling of nostalgia even though I largely dropped out of the show by season 6. It just was the thing for me when I was really worried about leaving the nest and throughout the entire process of growing the show was always there for me. Whenever I feared I would lose my self to adulthood MLP was there to remind me I could still be young.

Anybody else there when the first episodes were on TV? I remember watching the episode of the time they went to the gala for the first time, or the first episode when Nightmare Moon returned...I sat there watching the whole thing with my brother until it came out on Netflix 😢 then I binge watched it so many times.
This song is so special to me. It makes me cry everytime. No other song does that.
So many beautiful memories. I’ve grown since the point i finished it, but no matter what, I’ll always be grateful for this series and what it taught me.

When they say "this is where the magic happens" that really hits me. And how the same book that opened in the first episode closes in this one. I just can't help but cry.
Childhood TV series are really damn good at making their finales extremely emotional. It’s hard not to shed a tear or two at endings like this one, especially when the final song is this beautiful.
I remember I felt the same with Phineas and Ferb’s finale 🤧 This episode’s final take of the Mane 6 gives off the same energy as Phineas waving goodbye at us

I only got back into mlp when I heard it was gonna end soon and nearing its final episode. I didn’t really watch the episode,just caught up to it with clips on the official website and analysis videos. I loved this show as a kid and brought me a lot of comfort. I listen to this song from time to time to feel nostalgic. I feel like cry everytime it ends and I hear the beginning of the intro song🥲just beautiful
Can we talk about Applejacks and Raritys verses tho they're such incredible singers

And also, seeing the 5 of the Mane 6 with middle age looks, Twilight being Celestia-like, the CMCs and the Young 6 being adults, Granny Smith being dead, and the book closing breaks my heart💔

I almost cry, when I hear It's how the magic of friendship grows in 2:48, because everybody sing. Not only the girls. All voice actors sing, so I imagine all the characters in the backgrounds in the real movie, even Tirek's, Cozy Glow's and Chrysalis' voice actors?
I would like, if Cozy Glow, Chrysalis and Tirek got reformed. Even Grogar and Bray, who is totally forgotten. Oh, and I wish that Scorpan and Gosty would come back. Even Tirek's Gram gram.

this show really filled my childhood, i would come back from school and sit infront of my father's pc and jist endlessly search for mlp thumbnails cause i dont understand english yet and mlp truely helps alot with my english. i stopped watching mlp cause idk where to watch them but now im 16, im rewatching this show again and tears just wont stop flowing

I honestly wish they would’ve shown Flurry in the scene with Pumpkin and Pound. She would’ve been an adult by then. The Mane 6 were in their 20s in the series, and judging by how they’ve changed, they’re roughly 50-60 in the final song. We would’ve gotten to see what Flurry’s Cutie Mark was.

Esta serie me acompaño desde muy chiquita y no comprendi hasta su último capítulo cuanto apreciaba esta serie y fue un golpe emocional como se emitió el último capítulo y verlo casi estando por cumplir 18 años, fue alto timing y me dio una sensación super extraña.
La serie terminó pero el vínculo va a durar por siempre y el hechizo que aprendí fue la magia y el valor hermoso que transmite esta serie.
Con emoción cerramos un ciclo y espero que la gen5 sea igual de hermosa que esta.
Ya yarios de nosotros ya casi llegando a ser jóvenes adultos o llegando a la mayoría de edad vemos a las 6 amigas cerrar un ciclo y una generación.

This show came out when I was 6, I remember seeing the preview for the first episode on my tiny little box TV. 11 years, man. 11 years and the show thrived through all of it. I can't listen to this song without getting chills.
I grew up watching them when i was 7 years old (now 14) and i didn't stopped watching them they were always been my fav show😭💖

first off... oh no! 8 months late... second this show was my childhood for 5 or 6 years because one of friends talked about it. we were a group of 6 and i remember i played pinkie pie and we would all go on quests during lunch at school, it really was an adventure. two of my friends in that group are in my high school and i’m so glad! although i have watch episodes from random seasons (i didn’t follow the storyline cause i was like that before) i’m really thankful even to this day (yes my youtube is filled with MLP cause i’m bored 😂) this show has showed me what true friendships really are about.
recently, i had two best friends who i thought were gonna be with me forever however, i had my hopes too high up as they both betrayed me. (this was the first time i experienced this btw) started bullying and cyber bullied (ridiculed my last name) me for no reason when i let them be partners and sit next to each other. i suffered depression for 4 days, crying non stop of how they repay me. (oh no the tears are coming). i wanted to end my life but i tried not to think about it.
i have moved on but i realised that i have so many other friends that are always there for me, i’m really thankful for having friends... not friends, real friends. they showed all the elements of the main 6.
and if you don’t have any friends, feel alone or have been betrayed/bullied. i’m always here because i suffered this once. although you are somewhere in this 7 billion population, i’m always there no matter what.
When they teleport to ponyville, idk why but it gives me a vibe of nostalgia and sadness and happiness.
