It's great, but I don't think it's 'new'. Sounds like a pitch-adjusted version of the one he released during lockdown. Still brilliant, but I don't know if it's exactly new.
@@jedknight4389 It's definitely a new version, during lockdown it was an acoustic piano version with only a lead vocal and above all it wasn't a full version. On the album we have a full version with a completely different arrangement and some harmonies.

I am so happy for you, Jon! I just discovered you last year thanks to Baldur's Gate 3, but I'm really glad I did. BG3 was also how I first discovered Colm and Anna, and these sea shanties led me to find more of Caleb and Rich's work (I mostly knew Rich for video game music and Caleb from a few of Rich's videos). I can't believe what I've been missing out on all these years! Now I want to write a big, long story about this crew, using a lot of you guys' other covers and some of your original songs, too.
My personal favorite is Hoist The Colors. I cannot emphasize enough just how important it was that you kept the slow tempo of the song to give it its full weight. Wellerman places an extremely close second, along with everything else that has Anna in it. More collabs with Anna would be very welcome!

It's gives power when we are down (we recommend it to all those who feel the bite of depression). We've never cared for heavy metal but this is the most glorious and threrapeutic album ever! This whole album has given great inspiration for our Pirate/Sailing DnD campaign. My players are only going into their second monthly session and don't have a ship yet, but this album is giving me so many ideas and great inspiration for adventure hooks. Every time I'd listen to the sea shanty playlist on your channel, I'd put Barrett's Privateers at the end since it's the only one where all six (you, Caleb, Anna, Colm, Peyton, and Rich) get to sing. I was disappointed at first when I found that it was nowhere near the end, but then you hit us with that beautiful little flourish at the end, that beautiful, soulful cover of Leave Her Johnny, and now I can't imagine the list ending with anything else
This was awesome, especially Northwest Passage. I just got done listening to wendigoon video talking about the real-life event that Shanty is based on.

Drunken Sailor’s my favorite shanty in general, but I’d say that in terms of sheer production value the best are Hoist the Colors and Man The Cannons; especially the latter since it’s an original composition (plus the animated music video is SICK).

One of the smartest decisions for this album was including Anna. Even though metal isn't her genre she definitely has the voice for it.
