I just hope that Habs management realizes how valuable Arber is! Montreal is not the same team without him in the lineup. I also think Florian is a beauty, and he should have risen up the prospect scale, in my opinion.
The Xhekaj brothers are the kind of players you want going into a playoff series. Arber seems to always have lots of space to make passes or plays. These tough guys make extra room for themselves based on their reputation. I'm amazed at how little teams go after Arber. I think he's building a Larry Robinson type mystique about him.
Larry Robinson! I like Arber, but please, to put Arber’s name next to Robinson is a huge stretch “now”……maybe it can be, but for now, not even close. Robinson was a friggin beast and unlike Arber, when he dropped the gloves he rarely would fall down while throwing punches. Not to mention, he would pummel you with his quick fists. Ask that Philly Flyers goon, Dave Schultz. If his groupies didn’t quickly interfere with the fight, Schultz might have lost all of his teeth.

Remember when he has the surgery on his other shoulder (Same problem) and he said it himself, his shoulder is now stronger.

Imagine Florian and Arber on the same team. That's like if Rempe and Reeves were brothers. Crazy stuff. Not often you see brothers in the game team.

Xhekaj brothers Montreal’s version of having the Katchuk brothers. Both 6’4” Beasts forward n defence running the east for years to come :)
I think he is between 6'2 or 6'4. Hockey db is really inconsistent but ya both will be great in habs system.
I Watched game 5 Ottawa Brantford highlights. Apart from what seems like Florian playing for 60 min lol, he seems to fit in well at center. Solid on faceoffs, always goes to the net, yet has a knack for knowing to stay at near the blueline center ice to cover any counter offensive. He definitely has that growth spurt clumsiness going on skating wise, but that's expected. His skating is otherwise pretty solid. He sees the ice well, watching him support the D in front of his own net. The empty netter at the end of game 5 was well earned. Stepping up to block that shot prior, was great, but it's his timing of him moving up to block that shot was for me, the most important part of that whole sequence. Needs to get over his clumsiness, and work on his skating. If he puts in his time with his skating/ strength and conditioning, and mentally adjusts to pro speed, he'll be ok.
Players like Florian are exactly what teams need in on their 3rd and 4th grit,determination and hopefully add some scoring depth to the lineup
There is no reason Florian can’t be, at worst, a solid fourth liner in the NHL. And while that may seem like a meh kind of prospect, you need those players who can play some D, frustrate the other team and put the puck in the net in the rare occasion those chances come up. The Habs are already 1, maybe 2, top six players away from being a lethal team. The prospect cupboards are bursting right now, and with so many picks at their disposal, Hughes will no doubt trade for the impact scorers they need. The Habs will be a very strong contender in two seasons max. IMO.

The Xhekajs seem to be the prototypical "late bloomers". These types of players are too often relegated to the fringe of hockey prospects. Good to see Montreal being open to these types of players.

Florian has as at least good as chance as Brendon Gallagher did, although I think this 2024 team is more prospect rich. But maybe his "unicorn" status will play a factor.

I'm not surprised by Florian at all and I predicted he would get 30+ goals this year. If he plays in the OHL as a 20 year old he'll probably get 40+ goals. I expect him to be a 20+ goal scorer in the NHL. He will likely be similar to Josh Anderson and Tom Wilson where they are 2.5 liners. i.e. they're not entirely 2nd liners but aren't really 3rd liners either - they are somewhere in the middle. There is no way Florian is a just goon and but a 4th liner.

Josh Anderson and Gallagher are a serious drag on our roster. Anderson’s defence is the worst. The guy is lost on the ice.
How is Mesar -4 on a team that just swept their opposition? Doesn't seem so impressive to me. Sorry. Beck will be an NHL player, though, I do believe.
To this day, I am still wondering why Montreal drafted such a small forward; then a year later, traded two good picks to get Newhook, a similar size player as Mesar. I will be very surprised if Mesar makes the NHL !!!
@@powers1500I'm with you on both counts Daniel. I'm alright with Newhook, but if it's up to me give me Ross Colton plus the other pick, which is what the Avs ended up with from the deal.
all these guys irrelevant if we cant add a PPG player all star type player on the top two lines. Lets see if kirby Dach will become that guy...
