As a new owner of the TLX Type S (one delightful week and 240 miles as of today), my early impressions of Acura's "True Touchpad Interface" infotainment system are as follows: There's an enormous difference between using the system to control the car's own native systems (i.e. selecting among icons on menu screens, navigation, audio, etc.), versus using the touchpad for Android Auto (and presumably Apple Car Play as well). I've found Acura's touchpad easy to get used to for controlling the native systems/apps. After a couple hours behind the wheel, aligning my right index finger's position on the touchpad with a corresponding item on the large center screen has become second nature to me, and the screen's relatively high and distant location, combined with vivid highlighting of selected items, allows me to choose and execute commands with virtually no loss of "eyes on the road." In over a thousand miles of wheel time in my wife's 2022 Volvo SUV, I still find that vehicle's touchscreen interface less intuitive and more distracting to operate while driving. In my opinion, the Acura's system only falls apart when it's being used for Android Auto. Because Google's system wasn't designed for the "True Touchpad Interface" system's direct spatial correlation between finger position on touchpad and icon location on the screen, when using Android Auto the touchpad becomes just an ordinary touchpad ... the same interface one would use as a mouse alternative for a laptop computer, but with one crucial difference; there is NO cursor! This means I must swipe around on the pad until I notice the subtle blue outline around whatever happens to be selected (much less obvious than the native system's red highlighting) and then swipe from there to my intended target. It takes much more focus away from driving. It's so bad that I now habitually set up my Android Auto screen (typically Waze and a music or audiobook app) before I shift the car out of Park. The TLX Type S is simply a joy to drive, even while adhering to a "break-in" regimen as I've been. For me, this car's virtues far outweigh its drawbacks... so I'm with Jay on this one!
I find the hood unnecessarily long on the TLX, considering it's a transverse motor. Is that because the motor hangs past the centre line of the front wheels?
Which one of these two superb sedans would you take?
It’s almost an insult to compare 😭 but the TLX is just stunning and nicer.
Exactly, it's apples and oranges.
Love Acura. I have an Integra A Spec and love it. The TLX is out of my price range but it looks spectacular.

Crown shape is beautiful
You don't need a crossover until you hit a 2-foot deep pothole that blows your tire and causes $2,000 in paint damage.
Acura no contest
Apples and oranges
😂 tlx wins I’m getting one
😬😬😬
What color?
what makes you think these 2 cars are a comparison??? lmao
What makes you think they aren't competitors?
