My theory behind them not showing their faces is that usually they're representing the character they're rapping about and maybe showing their face might "ruin" the feeling of thinking about that character spitting. But I do get your point scru, sometimes knowing their faces makes it easier to recognize them in these cyphers

I dont know if you knew scru, but like back in 2018-2019, the community used to green screen amv's where they stood in front with their mic and preformed the song. But slowly the community shifted and kinda agreed to move towards whats poppin now

I'm going to clarify some things. Most of the artists you don't listen to their songs only listen to the cyphers. Where they appear for like 15 -30 seconds. Did you know they have rap battles on twitch on swabadi channel. They do show their faces but they don't really care.
They originally showed their faces. Look at videos in 2019 or early 2020 they show their faces. There are many reasons they don't is during cyphers you won't know who they are talking about unless you see the characters or series. Many things they show is referencing what they are rapping about.
Yeah, i don't really see it as a problem and definitely not as a lack of commitment to do the amv style videos. Most people aren't searching X anime rap so they can see a dude in his flat. Besides that, usually, the amv enhances the rap. When I'm not that familiar with the anime, seeing what they are talking about helps with catching the bar and also witj having a general idea of what's going on

Just leaving a comment because I think you’d really enjoy listening to both of those songs. Also, try checking out “The Apex” (Hitman 3 rap song) by The Stupendium featuring NemRaps (from Nerdout!). The video is a mix of video game footage and the artist showing his face, and the song’s just all-around well-made.

I feel like the argument for not showing your face is.. maybe some of these guys chose to do Nerdcore instead of Rap rap scene is BECAUSE of the somewhat anonymous nature, people may have anxiety or feel uncomfortable showing themselves when they do certain things, and always being behind a character probably helps with that.
