As I mentioned in the video, I truly do appreciate having each and everyone of you guys here. I appreciate you all following along through all of my ups and downs. This video is far from the best footage of the conjunction out there, but I figured I'd give it a shot with my setup. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays! Cheers, and clear skies
It was something... I actually had another clip for the video explaining my first view through the eyepiece, but the sound was fubar heh. It was breathtaking though... certainly did not seem real! Glad you got to experience it for yourself!
We are with you from Australia! We watched the conjunction from here in Melbourne, Victoria Australia, where it was low in the West as it got dark. On the night of 21 Dec, rain and low cloud so glad we saw it earlier on Saturday, and very happy that you have also made this video - keep them coming.
Brother, I appreciate your straight forward, no-nonsense approach . Thanks for all the info. I still cant get myself excited to look at celetials I cannot see in detail . Don't get me wrong thats really cool but our Moon is the Only Celestial object I bother looking at because I can Actually see it up close.
THIS was Spectacular!! Thanks too for your tutorial!! Thanks so Much!! I did subscribe and hit that bell!! You did one Super Incredible Job!! You ROCK!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Joan Smith
I was worried all week for rain today.. and then what happens? The biggest fog bank ive ever seen in my entire life comes rolling in... Fml... Glad you got some great skies to witness it however my friend! At least the conjuction "kinda" takes place over a few days!
Thank you. I wasn't able to see it and I don't have a telescope yet unfortunately, the event is amazing and unique, I'm glad you brought this to us who couldn't watch it. Thank you so much.
I wish I was able to see it in person but last night I came out too late and it was below the horizon and then tonight some thin cloud was blocking most of the light
That was awesome. I was hoping to see something on this "sky party", and I am happy it was you that came through. I recently gave my telescope away, so I will watch vicariously through you. Thank you, Garret and I wish you and your family the best for the holidays.
Heh I figured I'd through my hat in the ring anyways! I appreciate the kind words as well, your comments always make my day. Stay safe out there, and a very Happy Holidays to you and yours as well!

Nice footage man, I had to work night shift on the big night but made the most of it on the 20th, was amazing to see both the giant gas planets in the same field of view
As always another great video shame we didn't get to see it in Sydney as we have had clouds all week. :( Hopefully will see it pass by tonight but not looking good. Clear skies :)
On the 20th I went outside in my front yard with a camera and an Orion Starblast 4.5. The sky was clear and I was able to get some very crude pictures of it. The next day as you mentioned the morning started out cloudy but the forecast showed that it would clear up. I took my Starblast to work leaving it in my car until I got off work at 5:45pm. I spent 10 min observing and taking photos in the parking lot of my work with the Starblast setting on the trunk of my car.
Forgot to mention. On Dec 20th while looking at Jupiter It appeared that there were 5 moons. I know that Jupiter has 79 moons but thought only 4 were visible. Not sure what I saw concerning the 5th moon.
I had to travel about 30 miles away from my home. Because i don't have a telescope to watch it. Anyway i believe one day i will own something powerful like yours. Thanks😄
Dude that means a ton! People on here make it look so easy hah... but there is such a steep learning curve to all this, and so many little details that are always skipped. Heh I just do what I can to show the process all the way through... the good and bad.

Hey bro awesome video I need to talk to you sometime about telescope eye pieces to to telescope astrophotography.
That sky wasn't clear. Its full of aerosols due to stratospheric aerosol injection. I miss the blue skies. Good video though. Thanks
Thats beautiful man. I saw it through my little scope tonight. All these years I've never seen two in one eyepiece. We are blessed
It was something... I actually had another clip for the video explaining my first view through the eyepiece, but the sound was fubar heh. It was breathtaking though... certainly did not seem real! Glad you got to experience it for yourself!
@@AmateurAstronomyStormchasing haha for real though. Just think it won't happen again for so long. Nice, clear skys brotha
I’ve seen them all summer in the sky over NYC but now Mars is overhead 😢
Kp
I've watched both these planets all summer and by xmass they were below my horizon. I have the same scope. I love it.
