One thing I liked about BO1 is that you can hear the PC (Mason, Hudson and Reznov) call out these things in mid gameplay and not just on scripted moments

I like how more than half of the reload animations in the video have the guy eject the mag and load a new one while keeping the gun facing front with only 1 hand. Owning a Stg44 replica myself, the weapon is so front heavy that unless you are rambo incarnate keeping it facing front while only holding it with the one hand on the pistol grip is next to impossible, especially without having it wobble around, like most the animations in these videos do.
I could just hold the stock under my arm and reload
@@bigpapi4209 True, but then that displacement from your shoulder to under your armpit would have to be shown in the animation, which is clearly not the case in any of these.

It's the same weapon.
I don't think so...If I'm not mistaken, the MKb42 is a "Striker-Fired" Asssault Rifle, while the MP/StG44 is a hammer-fired Assault, that's the only differences I can reckon from both guns, correct me if I'm wrong at it.

Jon No, it isn't the first one as it used a full sized rifle round. Assault rifles use an intermediate between full power rounds and pistol rounds.
Germi the savage I'm not sure exactly but an example is the MKb-42(H). It predates the StG so the very existence of the MKb proves that the StG wasn't the first assault rifle.
Even the soviets had assault rifles before WW2 but development had to be stopped because the war started. In fact they even made bullpup rifles during the war, so what does that tell you?

I don't know why they gave these such high recoil when the real one was known to be very soft recoiling and controllable on full auto
Probably to balance it in games with mostly semi auto weapons
I'm no gun expert but some of these late 2000 and early 2010 games should learn when the right time to pull that lever on the side of the gun!

Little Fun Fact: When Hitler was brought this weapon with the name MP44, he rejected it but when the gun came back as the STG 44 he liked it just a name changed without him knowing which is hilarious
World at War and Black Ops are strangely the only ones that really show how the gun most likely handled. In real life the gun is extremely controllable. Modern shooters still say it is one of the easiest shooting assault rifles to this day.
Fun fact: all STG44 were on a safe mode

In Red Orchestra 2 and Killing Floor, that's an MKb42, not an STG44. Similar but different guns.

Common video game misconception: the stg is not an open bolt and doesnt have an open bolt safety notch and it doesnt have a bolt hold open.
It’s funny how the STG-44 (emphasis on the 44 (because 1944 was the year it was edit: made* in) was in battlefield 1942.

Question for gun experts/gun enthusiasts: how can you tell the difference between the different stg/ mp patterns?
the main difference is whether the gun fires from a closed or open bolt
StG means Sturmgewehr und MP ist ein Maschinenpistole.

There's a bug in Call of Duty 1, the STG-44's reload handle Isn't used in multiplayer, for some reason it is in Singleplayer, but in it's DLC, it got fix and (IMO) looks better than original did.

No weapon in world makes you look up and stay like that unless you look down again.
Really wish dev's would understand that reloading at the range vs in the field are vastly different. Nobody's taking their time to reload in combat. Been there four times.

Its so stupid how the reload animation doesnt show bullets in the fresh magazine. When they unload it doesnt which is right but not when they put a new one in. So bad
