I have an MSD 6A installed on my 1982 Toyota Corolla 3TC engine, for over 4 years. Lately, once engine's been running for about 15-20 min, shut the engine off then try to start but will not run. Is this indication of faulty MSD?? Also, I installed original Toyota module and engine starts and runs right up without hesitation. Please advice.
These are great ignitions. Thing is when you buy them, you need to buy three boxes. One on the vehicle and two in the garage. So in six months when the first one FAILS you have two left. So #1 get sent to MSD for repair and #2 on the car. While the three months of repair time goes by your second MSD 6A wonder box POS dies on you out in the middle of BFE. Hey we got another one in the garage thankfully........
“How to correctly install “you didn’t show an install and it also everything you tested work perfectly what happens when something doesn’t work right there’s no reason for anybody to come watch this if everything works right we are here because something doesn’t work right but all you showed is everything working right I’m not getting a signal from the white wire I don’t know why but you don’t have anything on that.
Great that you show the red LED being triggered by hand. The manual doesn't mention this. Now I know I have a dead box, thank you.

How do you check for spark with the ones with the coil on top of the distributor ????
and when you have a 6AL connected to a BTM ? is it the same procedure ?
