      I was watching the other day a video about the difference between a brand new 2500 elo GM and a 2800+ (Magnus) and it was already like taking candy from a baby. vs 2200 is just beyond mean.

      Just a small technicality....
      400 point difference means odds of 1 : 10, that is,
      you win 1, and they win 10, therefore,
      they beat you 10 times out of 11,
      instead of what you said "9 times out of 10".
      By the way, 400 point difference is 1 : 10 and, 800 point difference in 1 : 100.
      And I made the calculation, 1000 point difference is approximately 1 : 316 !!!

      Your accuracy depends on your response to your oppontent's moves

      Accuracy is determined by how much advantage you lose compared to the best move. If your opponent is consistently playing the best/book move which is pretty much what Hikaru did, your accuracy will be much lower.

      Accuracy does not factor in Elo. It's just an average of your relative advantage after each move.
      It's pretty easy to test. Next time you are in a winning position, just make a bunch of nonsense moves instead of making a quick mate -- you too will have a stupidly high accuracy.

      ​@@resu2026 The opening is always factored in keeping the average somewhat aloft.
      Take this example.Turn 1 their position is fine. Every turn their position gets 5% worse until turn 6 where the exposed their king giving the opponent has a forced mate (so their relative strength 0).
      Turn 1: (100)/1 = 100%
      Turn 2: (100+95)/2 = 97.5%
      Turn 3: (100+95+90)/3 = 95%
      Turn 4: (100+95+90+85)/4 = 92.5%
      Turn 5: (100+95+90+85+80)/5 = 90%
      Turn 6: (100+95+90+85+80+0)/6 = 75%

      No it's not. Alex did nothing to make him think. He walked just over her. When your opponent doesn't have a defence and doesn't give you any troubles at all than that's the result for a player that is much better than she is. Alex advantage is that she is much prettier than him.
