Gold Panning Vs Fire Assay Pt 2: Smelting and Assaying High Grade Gold Ore
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 окт 2024
- Smelting and assaying a sample of high grade gold ore and comparing to the gold panning results in part 1, we determine how much gold was liberated by crushing and panning vs assaying. The lead collector metal was cupelled in an electric furnace for better temperature control and the results of the full 2 kg of high grade gold ore are determined at the end of the video.

This was one of my jobs at the gold mine I used to work at. borax, lead, calcium, a couple of other ingredients.
Professor, I really wished I was in that country and would come to meet you ❤🎉
I learned so much from your excellent videos! Thanx for all the valuable info! Love seeing you do recoveries from the #2 slot. You’re equipment is the bomb-diggity! Go MBMMLLC!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great series of videos, congrats on the interesting results. However you need to get a more accurate scale. They have scales on Amazon that go to 0.001 grams for cheap (I just bought one) and you can easily enough get ones that go to 0.0001 grams, which for assay testing you really need something like that.
Just ordered a .001 and a .0001 scale! You will be seeing them in up coming videos, thanks for the tip. I didn't realize they were that cheap. I paid around $300 for my .0001 scale. It will be well worth it
Macgyver gold refining with whatever is laying around. I dig the setup... goes to show you can rig up a couple of things on the cheap, just think it's funny because you have state of the art processing equipment. Love this series and channel... keep 'em coming!
Right on
Awesome results. Good luck on the mine dump and future testing.
Fingers crossed!
Thanks for the videos again, great information and you do a great job explaining your process. Very exciting results on that one there! Best of luck
Thank you!
I like that Rock pulverizer. Vintage
I was waiting for the blink
Thank you so much .. really enjoyed the video .. really good comparison! .. learned alot ..
Really love these videos, thanks for sharing 👍
Glad you like them!
I have a question. When you are pouring the material out, does the liquid gold just sink to the bottom even though the container overflows during the pour? Very cool concept and absolutely fascinating to me.
Yes, exactly. The gold and lead are so dense they go right to the bottom
Saya suka tehnik pengolahan mblk
I'm noting that when you overflow the mold, the extra is just falling over the side, you can see it just run across the top and out. Isn't that the part you most want?
Funny you should mention the dangers of sulfur dioxide, while I was deployed to Iraq the insurgents had light a fire at a sulfur plant and we were downwind. Needless to say, I have a serious lung disease now because of it. According to the doctors I lost about 40% of my lung use because of the two weeks we spent downwind of that fire.
Yes, nasty stuff!
Just curious, did you discover the danger before or after you started hard rock mining, and how?
Are you sure it was SO2 you were breathing because sulfur dioxide is lighter than air and rises into the atmosphere when formed. Around here (Alberta) we have quite a few sour gas (H2S - hydrogen sulfide) wells and H2S is heavier than air so a cloud could gather on the ground if there was a leak. So when there is a leak, they burn the H2S and turn it into SO2 to get it off of the ground. Both are very nasty and can kill you even with small concentrations.
Nice video except it is unclear what you did [ did you add more borax/flux to the matt lead to get a new button ] ?
Thank you so much....you inspired much.
Where do you purchase your cupels? If you don't mind me asking.
Wanted to ask your opinion if it js okay with you.
Outcrops grabbed from on top of the reef on the ground surface fire assayed 0.22g/t and 0.19 g/t respectively. What is your general opinion of this?
I live in the UK and have enjoyed watching the videos you have done, but it was just a thought that would it be better if you was to have a bigger mould to poor your molten mixture into instead of having some of it poor over the edge that I've seen you have in the videos I've seen you do so far keep up with the great work 👍 👌
Great idea!
I think you should’ve kept the flux composition consistent for more accurate results, but thank you for the video!
Nice job on the video!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello . May i asking . I made melting and i use porax and soda ash and every thinh . But after 3 hours its be like sticky and not liquid . Why that happened is it need more heating ?
oh wow is this where "get the lead out" comes from?
I wish your company sold an inverted iron mold like you made and use all the time.
take a picture of the one I use down to any metal fab shop and they should be able to make you one no problem
So are you able to toss the vessels when you are done with them or do they require some sort of processing?
They are still full of lead. Check out this video on recovering the lead: ruclips.net/video/QHY1K2_AODM/видео.html
Is it necessary to add lead for gold collection?
How much do the quepells cost? Can you get the “lead out” of them and re-use the lead ?
Cupels cost about $1 each. Here is a video showing how to recover the lead: ruclips.net/video/QHY1K2_AODM/видео.html
Did you every just get the material and kilm it .
Awesome
Is that tailings pile yours or can you lease it? Or are you just playing around?
Its in the works :)
now we just have to get you some real pouring tongs one of these days!
:)
Is there a way to recover the lead from the cupel?
ruclips.net/video/QHY1K2_AODM/видео.html
🍻👍
Does that process leave the silver with the gold?
Yep, any precious metals that wont oxidize
So I'll be roasting. :)
Thanks for watching. Glad you like the vids!
