Ngl, he looks good to me. His touch is just off. The drives he makes, especially in the game before this one, look amazing for 7'1". He's mobile as hell and is obviously skilled. His rebounding and rim protection is legit, and he sees passing angles
I don't know wtf he did in Australia...but i followed him when he played in europe...and for me everytime biggest red flag is when players struggling in youth tournaments...and dude was struggling big time in 2023 fiba U-19 tourney...i really not in million years watching him in u-19 tourney though damm thats crazy talent..future top 5 pick..
Wiseman would never be this inefficient scoring but he’s horrible on defense and can’t pass or handle at all which is worse and why he’s not playable. Sarr should be fine with experience and getting in the weight room but his offensive ceiling might be more limited than some people thought
I’m only basing this off the highlights I’ve seen from overseas and SL: I feel like he tends to play away from the basket instead of working on getting closer. If he only focused on Defense, he could be decent but on O he’s gonna struggle for a while.
Wiseman looked horrible. He didn't know how to play basketball. Sarr's only issue is his attempts not falling. These hook shots and dribble drives he attempts are okay. He doesn't have to bump a defender to under the rim just cause he's 7ft. And he's a good defender, rebounder, passer.
he reminds me of how Ernes Kanter was a project but by the time he was ready he was already bouncing around the league. i feel like that's going to happen to the Wizards since everything they do is fail.
im not mad. the potential is there. can have 0 points but will have 11 rebs and a couple blocks and he moves like a forward too. if he finds his shot, boy we're looking at a Kevin Durant type player
So, you're saying he could go from not making any shots from 5-feet away, to making most shots from 25-feet away. I, then, might look like a KD-type player. You yourself could be the next KD in a few years.
Let’s make one thing clear.. he wasn’t drafted for his offensive game.. he is known as a showtime defender.. someone who has the footspeed to stay with 1’s & 2’s off the switch and the ability to guard and nullify 3’s-5’s. His offensive game was always seen as high potential but with a lot of work still needed. He will have a great defensive season for the Wizards and right away will become their best defender and defensive anchor but I’ll say around season 3-4 look for him to have a huge offensive jump similar to Bam Adebayo’s and avg a cool 19-24 points a game. This kid will be ok
And tbh… I don’t know one 7 footer in the league (aside from KD who loves to say he isn’t 7 foot) That can cut guards off on their dribble like Sarr can do… not even Wemby can he’s just excellent at staying with guards and using his wingspans to alter their shots but Sarr literally looks like a guard guarding other guards… that can and will never be a flop in the NBA straight defence alone
Why didn’t the Wizards draft Sheppard? Especially after trading Advija? I mean Sarr’s development would coincide with next years tank for Flagg, but so would Sheppards. And they just signed Valanciunas, are they really starting two non shooting bigs? Weird ass franchise man, but at least their roster will grant them a top 5 pick next year
He's atrociously bad on offense, and not that good on defense either? So, in today's league, draft order is decided on how the players look like they might defend switches on pick'n'roll. Because Zach Edey was the best college player for the past two years, and he was predicted to be drafted in round 2, because he doesn't look like he can defend guards.

He's very versatile. He misses from close range and from long range.

You can see the talent, he reminds me of a taller Andrei Kirilenko, who btw also had a very limited offensive game when he first came in the league

Way better than Wiseman.
@bkelly625 he's already better than Wiseman. Why does he need to be a scorer? Casuals are being reactive as usual.

Alex Sarr fitting in with my Wizs kids already.

For now looks like a very bad summer for the Wiz.
Traded there future franchise player - Avdija. And the draft pick doesn't look promising.
Has there a been a good summer for the Wizards?
I wonder if Wizards pick this dude to tank for Flagg
I know. You cannot help but think that is their strategy.
He had 11 rebounds though. The effort is there.
He hasn't put any effort on working on his offense.
Bronny >>> Sarr
Such quick feet for a 7 footer. He’ll be very good defensively right away and that jumper will eventually start falling
I think a bigger concern for him is his finishing. He’s weak, and his touch around the rim is poor. But he has great defensive upside like you said.
Yeah he wont even be on Deandre Ayton’s level at this point
