This and your other Double-D video were a great when I was starting in Double-D/C, and it is now my favourite tuning for the banjo. It would be great if you could do videos like this for other tunings, since seeing how simple and rewarding it is to grasp a new tuning is an essential part of clawhammer.

Jesus cristus! You have convinced me to learn the banjo! Your videos are very, very well made + learning. Some day I will challenge you on a banjo duell ;) Thank you! Greetings from Finland.

    Nice tune Cathy .
This is a great exercise to get students to hear the 1/4/5 thing in double D.I love this tuning a lot. In fact last summer at our local clawhammer contest it was used three to one to any other tuning. Funny.I have been working at using this tuning for dorian mode work lately. Nice to meet you here,Yours Guy
Try adding a hammer- on the third note (third string fourth fret ) at the end of the passage ending the B part (instead of a hammer on the same note second fret. :o)

I'm sorely missing my banjo, but am throughly enjoying your vids, anyway! I think you have a good sentinal for the woodpile (by the nose), are a natural teacher, and great player! Have you ever tried flipping your video, when done filming, sometimes the result is as if looking over your shoulder when playing it is fun to try, your hand close ups are great........I do this "flipping" sometimes, when taking lessons on slide. again thanks!

Hi and thanks for all these awesome vids! I am wondering though if it is physically possible to tune a Epiphone MB-100 banjo in those chords? Or you need some specials caracteristics on the banjo?

Wow thanks for quick reply! Do you think it would also works for all the others modal chords?
Note: I might make some mistakes I'm french.
