I live here... Again! I grew up in the little town and came back to the same house 30 years later. I love this place! It's got pretty much everything! Knowing the history of the place will make you love it even more. Great video, btw!

Your map for crime was interesting to me. I did read an article that had Carrollton as a bad place to live due to very high crime. That was surprising to me. The neighborhood Providence Park on East side near lake Carrol, looks to be right in middle of purple if I'm looking it correctly. That was a neighborhood that I was looking at to consider a purchase as well.
My grandmother actually lives in that subdivision, so feel free to reach out to me and I can tell you more about it!
@Living in West Georgia and East Alabama OH ok, thanks for the reply. The map you showed in the video looks to have this Neighborhood in the high crime area with dark purple, so that is concerning, unfortunately 😕
You are correct. It is worse than major cities. They give too many lite sentences for serial offenders.
Great honest video. I lived for 6 years and I loved it out their. I used to live in SOMA governors court and then lived on broad street. I will say I have seen a change in population getting crowded and like you mention the crime rate has increased. I just hope Carrollton won’t be a Douglasville

Enjoyed your Carrollton review, brought back some fond memories. In 1978 I moved from Columbus , GA. voc.tech. School and got my first job as an Operating Room Technician as a young 20 yo kid at Tanner Memorial Hospital. Got to be part of opening there brand new operating room. While working full time dormed for a period at West Georgia U. And took classes. It was positive to have young open minded students mix with this conservative town, gave it a more balanced blend of ideas. Ironically you mentioned Little Hawaiian restaurant. Well After a year at Tanner I moved back to my home state of Hawaii, graduated from University of Hawaii BS in Nursing and remained. Recently I helped my daughter move from the DC/Virginia area to North Atlanta for Research Scientist work. First time back in Atlanta since Carrollton days. Funny I don’t recall Carrollton Lake…hmm, but I do recall going to Tanner beach..as we called it. I grew up a lot in that 1 year in Carrollton, met a lot of wonderful folk, and had such fun great memories. Keep up the good sharing of Carrollton life.

Is it a high or moderate crime ridden area?
According to neighborhoodscout.com (which is where I pull all of my data on these figures) Carrollton has one of the highest crime rates in America!

High crime. I lived there on 23 acres and was attacked and robbed by the neighbor. If you can't live on 23 acres without being assaulted, it isnt a great place. Drugs, meth, robberies. My neighbor broke into homes and stole.

I worked for Giovanni's and interacted with cops a few times. Most of them aren't racist. Most of them are just trying to do their job and not get shot.
As a black guy that has lived in Carrollton ga for 22 years and I can confirm this is in fact bs🤷 I've met one racist person here and tbh he was also kinda cool he just didn't like Getto people but he was cool with me and my homies 🤷
I also had a cop let me go when he stopped me with a quarter of weed and a gun... Well he made me stomp my bud into the dirt but he gave me my gun back😅
