Everest is barely visible from Darjeeling even in perfect weather, which is best in Oct.-early Dec. Kanchenjunga is amazing, such a huge massif filling the horizon.
sikkim is one of my most favorite state also it's so fascinating how you are basically inside clouds. it's not fog it's just you are at same level as clouds are
Beautiful mountain village trapped in the clouds.. the Monastery was amazing. The fog gives the video ambience. So clean and peaceful. Great energy in the people. Great work again!
There is something about the northern India experience that is alluring. From your previous treks into northern India (Rishikesh etc) and now to Sikkim, there is a vibe I can't quite put my finger on but I like it. Top notch video as usual. 👊
There was a Buddhist monk named Mahinda from Gangtok, Sikkim who travelled to Sri Lanka in 1912 when he was a boy, learned Sinhalese and became a renowned scholar and fought for Sri Lanka's independence. He is a considered as a national hero today in Sri Lanka.
Gab, Your production values are through the Roof! Well done my friend. The visuals are crisp & audio is stellar! I am an early bird and found you nearly sunrise while sipping my medicinal chia nectar as I am healing potential throat cancer here in Boquete, a very special little piece of Gods handi work nestled in the cool mountains of Panana. Hi Gabe, sikkim is famous for treks. One of the top one is - Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek: One of the most thrilling routes for trekking in Sikkim, the Kanchenjunga Base Camp is an absolute must do for all seasoned trekkers coming here. The scenic route takes you through luxurious forests of rhododendrons, spruces, and pines, emerging into fairy-tale like meadows and pastures.
many people actually like the foggy wet himalayas, because of the fresh greenery, gushing waterfalls and also for the comforting sounds of rainfalls. but thats not quite the ideal situation for moving around for the panoramic view, so, lets hope weather gets cleared up in coming days.
I did the "Triad' Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Gangtok back in 1998. I went in July, it was wet n damp but just so lush. Great experience being in the "Clouds" not fog
The fog lends itself to the mysticism . In my minds eye i can imagine this place with no vehicles and dirt roads. The gentle scent of insence greeting you as an offering to your higher self. The views exsist in your mind as this is all just a thought in life....
There is a certain vibe in those areas...beautiful nature, vivid colors, smiling people..."tuk" maybe means "chapel", because it looks smaller than a temple🤔💖✌✨
Weather conditions were less than ideal for videography but I kind of like it. "Don't get your hopes up." 😂 Thanks for taking us along. I appreciate that you didn't feel the need to talk or voice over, all of the video. I really liked seeing the temples and hearing the music. Well done.
The Sikkim are the sons and daughters of the dragon like Tibetan, Bhutanese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese, These people are different from the mainstream Dravidian and Aryan Indians. You can see the architecture and the details, the dragon in painting and ornaments.
Hi Gabriel, at one point Sikkim must have been a remote location but over time people decided to move in and around these towns and cities. Just to get away from the crowded cities the views are magnificent on a bright day but with the growth of the population moving in and around these surroundings causing changes in the environment and I'm sure this is true in many places around the world.
This temple seems different then others ? The checker board floor is kind of a jux to position? I love it . The flags are so vibrant ..the primary colors of the temple seem different & brighterb
The art in the monastery is so nice. it helps that it's all new I suppose. I think the mist is atmospheric - after all , it's in the mountains ! TBH the culture in that part of the world is so interesting.
Good on you. I haven't watched you in a while as I am travelling too but it certainly appears that your panning has slowed down very well and it is now easier to watch. Cheers.
Even with the wet grey and fog I really like this. Something seems very relaxing and peaceful about it, especially the parts where you could hear the waterfall. I would love to walk around that place and then drink a nice warm tea and sit by a fire.
These are the small attractions around Gangtok. If you really feel like it go to the Wishing lake (Khecheopalri lake) near Pelling, get a guide and hike in that area. It's the definition of virgin forests. Also Sikkim is India's first fully organic state. You can explore that aspect too.
From Gangtok drive west to Pelling, one of the top places to view the Kanchenjunga range, the weather is likely to clear up from Sunday there, from Pelling go further to Yuksom. On the way to Pelling, you can stop at Ravangla for the mind-blowing Buddha Park and the titanic view point (my youtube profile photo 😀). Another great place, perhaps the best, to view Kanchenjunga is Singhik on the way to North Sikkim.
Enjoying your Indian journeys, such a shame that it is cloudy in the himalayas again but they are still interesting films really inspiring. Hoping to get to that part of India in the next couple of years again myself (once both my kids are at uni lol)
Still REALLY enjoy the views of the architecture and amazing colours! All those prayer flags!! Can you imagine zip lining in the Himalayas?! That would be sweet!!

Hi Gabe: Excellent video, as usual. Just wish the weather had cooperated a bit more. Be careful out there on the rocks in wet weather. We don't want to read about you or see you on television for the wrong reasons.
I hope the sun comes out soon for you, Gabriel. I'm a real stickler for blue skies and mountain ranges. Not being a traveller as such, I think I would self combust if I walked to see a view and it was non existent due to mist or fog. You are so Zen. I would be a screaming banshee. Hence why I don't have a travel channel. I still thoroughly enjoyed this town but I couldn't help thinking of the hidden charms behind the clouds. Keep up the good work and hopefully the sun will come out soon 🙏☀️👍🌟🎺✨
Hi Gabe, I enjoyed the video despite the bad weather. I have a question for you if you don't mind my asking.......Do you still use a windslayer on your DJI camera when the weather is wet?
What’s the etiquette regarding the prayer wheels? What do they represent, can anyone spin them, is there a certain order in which the get spun? Curious! Ty
The prayers can be spun by anyone, but it has to be rotated in clockwise direction, and on the prayer wheels are inscribed "Om mani padme hu" Which is the core mantra in buddhism, this mantra is said to bring inner peace to one you recites and to inmureable people who are suffering all over the world, and inside it few relics which have been blessed by monks are placed.
Wowwww what a nice Beautiful ❤️ Fantastic 😊 Breath taking vies With Fog Air i feel very very Cold There , Thank u so much sir Gabe for your wonderful walk around tour video in Northern part of Sikkim India stay safe Godbless from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Marvin 😍🙂👍👏👏👏

02:54 -- The signage is cool: "Bro, follow traffic rules. Save your life". 06:15 onwards -- Building exteriors and interiors are GORGEOUS. I could look at each all day! The colours (reds, blues, magentas, etc.) are magnificent. 12:13 -- The music is the same effective haunting music that you put behind your videos of ghats in India, where you showed dead bodies being burnt. Music can be so effective in relaying a message. I ❤ the song-chant. I have had cautery done whilst awake and I can tell everyone that nothing smells like burning flesh! The odor is as characteristic as that of burning marijuana and meth!
