- I was heavily dissapointed they didn't use "Brother My Brother" on this scene. So I decided I'd try and fix it myself!

Finally! Someone who understands the Pokemon classics!
Clearly the people in charge of this movie didn't.
@@Draezeth I will be honest... i don´t like that (new) movie... and i don´t think that song fits with the new movie... it just feels wrong for my opinion...
there were soooooo many parts that disappointed me in this move, but this was one of the largest ones. some of the other large bits being the lines about Pokémon tears, and other changes to the script....
The original movie was a classic in both languages.
🙄
Over 20 years later and this song still hits me incredibly well. Such a wonderful song too, even if really upsetting in a way
The movie while not canonically accurate was great up until this point. And then they had to fuck it up. Thanks for fixing it.
Omg you even lowered the music when they started talking!!!! Your the best!!! Wish ya extended it and added the sad music for the next part aswell but, thank you for this anyway, its perfect and you deserve a medal for hittin me with the best nostalgia rush if my life!!! Stay Awesome my brotha!
I love this song
Glad i stay up
I still think the new movie sucks, but with this song the scene is infinitely better :)
You adjust this scene!
THIS IS SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE WITH THE SONG. I would’ve literally started crying like the first time I watched the original.
I hear ya.
i saw it and the part where i cried and i cried again like in the original one back in 1999
LITERALLY
When I saw the remake of this movie I was like why the heck didn’t they have this song in it?
Quick question, what song did they use for this scene?
You're doing Arceus's work, good sir.
Mewtwo would kick Arceus ass
@@RobertK1993 wrong
Agreed
@@kritikill7779 wrong??? Did you not watch the movie where arceus gets owned by regular pokemon?. Arceus sucks
Mew is the god of pokemon not arceus
the heartbreaking moment when your old enough to realize they werent fighting a regular battle no it was a battle between life and death and only the strongest will come out on top
Survival of the fittest
@@xxAryAryxx um no. Even when the fight is equal it comes down to intangibles. For example the clones knew nothing about compassion and do not have a will of their own. So the originals will to survive could he the difference in some of the cases.
@@xxAryAryxx
Thank you
@@mikemarek6243 they do have will of their pwn
When you realize this is all happening because of what Giavonni had done to Mewtwo by telling him he was only a tool for his own use and because Mewtwo was a clone Giavonni disregarded him as a living being.
I saw the movie and I’m sitting there wondering “where is it”. Thank you for fixing it
Did you really think they would buy the rights to this song again?
@@elinacarmina3050 Yes
@@RaiosSephi That was foolish thinking.
Yes thank you for fixing it
For real, now the scene makes sense, also it gives me chills once my child self felt it as good as the day I watched it on theaters.
I can't believe they didn't use this song. That was one of the few movies that ever made me tear up
What's up with that?.
@ArmanAditya Basu So? It's not even the worst thing to happen in the dub, the removal of backstory was much worst.
@@FunkyStudios It wasn't removed. they dubbed it and it was a special feature for the home version, but the cinemas didn't want to show it.
I don't care what anyone says this song still fits with the movie and it's message and has become one of my favorite songs ever since I first heard it. Brother My Brother is a song about equality and acceptance something that should be played more often, especially in today's day and age.
@ArmanAditya Basu -- Needlessly harsh towards the song itself. I think the song on it's own is very pleasant. I prefer the American soundtrack for this movie all the way, because it stands out so much from the typical anime music, making it very memorable. Gives the movie a unique vibe, even if it's from mostly corny pop music from the late 90s. That, and the actual original background music they made for Mewtwo's scenes are incredible, and create a far more fierce and intimidating atmosphere than anything the JPN soundtrack did. Listen to (Mewtwo's Theme - Pokemon Suite) ruclips.net/video/2WZsZReahfg/видео.html
It may be nostalgia talking for the pop music shenanigans, but Mewtwo's theme music holds up.
@ArmanAditya Basu Weeb
@ArmanAditya Basu he does have a point why the song fits both versions, in the japanese version mewtwo and his clones want to kill their originals because mewtwo feels he doesnt have a place in the world and believes cloned pokemon are the superior race.
The exchange the trainers have isnt about fighting is bad, its about that although these pokemon including metwo are artificial they are just as much as alive as the originals and they deserve a place in the world as much as the original pokemon do.
The whole song about war, being brothers and that they shouldnt be fighting fits. Because mewtwo thinks the only fate and place he has in the world is to destroy their counterparts they were cloned from.
Its only in the end does he realize nobody but himself decides whether he has a place in the world to live or not. That it never mattered he was a clone, or what he was made to be. That doesnt determine who he is.
@@JuniperGreen162 you are correct. The 90s and 2000s are perfect for dubbed anime.
I Had Idea But He's Dogfight
But Almost Catfight
I dont know what made them cut it honestly, especially in the time of the world it came out in. This was needed. Growing up this movie had a value lesson. And it was right here in this song.
I think it’s due to copyright issues or something.
This song was just not presented in the original version. It was something the english localization come out with. The anti violence message was also not in the original.

you know I can see why you were disappointed, in fact why wasn't there a cover of this song?!
Because A) It wasn't in the Japanese version, B) The "fighting is wrong" message was stupid and had nothing to do with the movie, and C) Getting the rights to this song would cost money
Budget cut perhaps?
@@elinacarmina3050 Well, just trying to recruit the original bands for the opening songs would have been difficult enough.
@@elinacarmina3050 brother my brother has not to do with film?
Are you serious?
Is the most beautiful song, and say about a brother fight with brother without a winner, without a propose, without a objetive.
C'mon, this is the perfect message, and had been perfect with this scene.
Im Brazilian, if has something wrong with that it wrote, im sorry, but i'm expected that you understand me.
@@ScorpionTube The message is supposed to be "all life is equal, no matter how you were born". "Fighting is wrong" has nothing to do with that. The whole series is built AROUND battling!
I started singing it in my head as soon as I saw the fights start, and then realized it wasn't actually playing. Good on ya for making it right
Same. The song's ingrained in me at this point.
@@hawktalon7890 right
Damnit I was fine not crying when I watched this and now you added the music. Instant tears! 22 years later
Me too
Me three
This scene would have been the only reason I would have watched the film, every time I watch the original I cry and every time I hear Blessed Union of Souls I tear up (not even ashamed, gets me every time). Thank you for fixing it (why remove the best part in the first place?!) and also for saving me from watching the rest of this pointless remake (remaster? Whatever, they should keep their focus on the burgeoning CGI/Live Action franchise)
Because it wasn't in the original Japanese cut of the first movie. It was added by 4kids. I think Pokemon Company is trying to erase 4kids because it leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths.
@@glitchhunter09 too bad cause it really made the scene for me.
Mainly bc in the Japanese version it was much dark theme than the US dub. There are times where 4Kids actually did a good job, like with this song and how they did it with yu-gi-oh. The duel between joey and yugi only showed the duel arena in japan. But the Dub did a flash back of their time together and with a great song. “No matter what”
I am watching it now and it hits so damn hard still even years and years later. I’m crying and it’s no shame
You don’t know the amount of disappointment I felt once I started singing the song and didn’t hear the singer singing back. I even started humming it at the beginning of the movie. Thank you so much for adding it in the scene, it’s part of our childhoods and it didn’t hit as well without the song.
I agree with you, however when the slow motion parts played in the original, they played a different song to emphasise how the battle was taking it's toll
It really bothered me too that this wasn't in the movie, every step of that fight I was waiting for it to kick in and it never did..even if it doesn't line up the same way it did in the original with it just being overlayed like this, it still does a number way better than the remake did without much for music in this scene
Thank you for fixing the most iconic moment from my childhood so i can show it to my son now! This is amazing and its even his birthday today so thank you very much!!
This is why fans love the iconic dub soundtrack of the 90s
Like they said in the original movie...
"We dreamed of creating the worlds strongest Pokémon...and we succeeded."
Hopefully they dont ruin Entei with a remake.

Its a great and powerful song and that scene needed it and thank you for doing it
Brother My Brother i love that song
I've been watching it when i was a kid.
2:36 they’re getting overwhelmed.
I literally came searching for this after watching the remake and it hits the same 23 years later with this song. Thank you for the tears 😂❤
Imagine if that song played during the war scene in South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut.
Love it, but I kinda wish you'd also used that bit of instrumental that kicked in from the moment Pikatwo sent Pikachu flying in the original. The song was always great, but that instrumental is also a massive part of the impact of that scene. Though it looks like that part goes on a bit longer than it did in the original movie (and I don't like the others' after dialogue as much tbh, what was wrong with "Pokemon aren't meant to fight... not like this." I LOVED that line in the original)
@ArmanAditya Basu Wrong translation or not, it had a way deeper meaning, especially cause of the pause, you could really feel the emotion the VA put in, this, to me, seems like just a bit of dialogue added in as a filler.
@ArmanAditya Basu Your english makes no sense
@ArmanAditya Basu I felt it was a pretty good localization of that line of though in the 2d version dub. Rather then an abstract and blatant aseop insert of "they are all alive" diologe that we got here. it's a more grounded "They are all pokemon" kind of thing and well as.. pokemon ARE meant to fight. but... "pokemon aren't ment to fight, not like this..." because every pokemon battle seen in the series is more a sporting match, MMA type of thing. Where the pokemon agree to the battle, and try their best to win (look at ashes charazard's history to see what happens when a pokemon refuses to fight). but this.... this is just fighting to eliminate the enemy... it's not a sports match... it's more like murder. While the 3d might of been (and probably was) a more accurate translation of what was actually said original. It probably was more natural in English to go the way it did in the d2 dub. English media doesn't normally do straight up explanations in my experience unless it's toddler media which wasn't really the viewer base pokemon was gonna get in the US. english media prefers to show the audience what the characters are thinking through action (most media does in fact regardless of language but modern English media can be a bit extra with it) or give small lines of diologe that make you hash out their "thoughts" kind of like how you would have to for a real person.
They both have their charms and uses as methods of translations IMO. I just prefer the one in the 2d dub due to my tastes in narritve, as well just... ya know... nostalgia.
I dont understand why so many people are afraid of copy right on RUclips. This is wn example of it being good and positive
This makes it more watchable... but it also shows, that the fight scene in the newer one... was SHORTER
The song ends when Pikachu is thrown into the air
Then they show the other pokemon getting more and more tired cued with sad music.
Also, can we fucking talk about how Brock pretty much repeated Nurse Joy, then Misty repeated Brock... with in 10 fucking seconds of each other?
Did that happen in the original? I dont recall that happening in the original.
Yes, it did. In both the Japanese and the English version of the original film, the writers repeat the lesson multiple times in a row.
So regardless if you're getting the "fighting like this is wrong" message or "copies or originals, they're all living creatures" message, the movie's moral does get spoon-fed to the audience many times in a short session.
It's probably one of the big downsides of the first movie, in my opinion.
People complaining about why this song was originally in the remake, and I just stand here wondering.. why did you watch it in the first place when the original 2D version still holds up?
3:06 These lines sum up everyone fighting over a remake and the original source.
Dubs from the 90s and 2000s rule (except for the dic/Cloverway dub of Sailor Moon).
I turned off the movie when I realized there was no "brother my brother"
I've not seen the end of it
as did I
with immense disgust
I thought I was the only one being so picky that this song wasn't included.
Thanks for such a good work, is all this scene needed to be perfect.

Removing this song in the remake was an ENORMOUS mistake. Between the music and the intensity of the scene, it was obvious it has a message after all.

Well funded studio with the original source material fucked it, but it only took one youtuber to fix it, I love your existence, you've appeased the angry 9 year old in me and bought him nostalgic happiness

1000% agree. I enjoyed the movie, but this scene felt empty without this song.
Wow…like I don’t know why they remade this…it just look soo bad compared to the original, and I know some people will say, that that’s just my nostalgia clouding my view…. But like, the models for the humans, or at least the main trio, look cursed as Heliolisk…. This fight scene had soo much more impact in the OG too, it just feels so empty here. Plus they got rid of the Meowth/ Clone dialogue, which was an amazing piece of writing….!! They really should just stop remaking stuff or if they do, just update the art style and never step foot into 3D modeling….so far the only amazing 3D modeling/ animations ive seen are from fans and the community of shows and movies…most of the time bug companies screw it up.
2024 and i still getting goosebumps an teardrops in my eyes
" I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."
The fact that Netflix had the NERVE to remake a great classic was enough to say no.
Pretty much my opinion
Thank you for this... i hated the movie when it came out purely because the missing OSTs ❤
Nurse Joy: Pokémon aren’t met to fight not like this. It’s useless what could come out of it?
My God yes!! This movie was missing this and missing the whole Pokemon the First Movie Soundtrack like damn! Thank God for doing this we needed this for the movie. I told my friend about this movie he loved the first movie and he asked me was the music in it I said nope he was like I'm out.
@ArmanAditya Basu you can’t get rid of nostalgia and the soundtrack of the dub is totally a 90s treasure.
Should have fixed the audio 100%, though... as soon as Pikachu gets flipped, the music cuts out and transitions to the sad violins, which adds a lot of emotion
“Pokémon aren’t meant to fight, not like this. It’s useless. What good could come out of it?”
“Why can’t Mewtwo understand it’s not right to make Pokémon battle this way?”
“They’re all living creatures. This just proves that fighting is wrong.”
“I was prepared for trouble, but not like this.”
“Make that double for me.”
You will never be able to latch the level of emotion displayed in the original. The actors actually knew what they were doing when they spoke their lines. Now they just sound pathetic.
I think that has more to do with a direction problem than a script problem in my opinion. I've seen these same voice actors do better in other projects before.
I swear! The timing of the song where Ash gasps in shock is just PERFECT! I love it!
This is beautiful, i just watched with my daughter yesterday and i was really upset they didn't used the song.
Thank you so much for doing this! It was really bothering me, as well! Gah, it's got me tearing up again. My daughter who is 5 could see a huge difference, and now she really understands this scene better 🥰
Excellent, I'm glad someone had this idea
Thank you for adding this. Song still hits so deep hearing it so many years later. This song should be played in the whole world at the same time so one can appreciate its impact all at once
Correct
Yo the best Dewario my guy, amazing video
you're doing gods work, thank you
The fact that Pikachu is such a pure hearted hero, he refuses to fight even a piece of himself to the death speaks wonders about how much he values life. A fake little electric field mouse has more value for another creature who breathes than most real life human beings. So much so that he's willing to let himself get beat down just to make a point.
Best cartoon 😉😉😉
You good sir has restored humanity in the world of Pokémon.
Amazing!
Removing this song is an awful decision.
Orbot: Boss, the fighters and the clones stop fighting each other!
Cubot: Yeah! What does it mean, Eggman?
Dr. Eggman: It means they’re all collapse. Metallix and Sonic’s power of the Emeralds have drained out his Super Smashers. The Hedgehogs are still keeping fighting.
The fact that they didn't include this song is the only reason I probably won't watch this version again.
Psyduck is a brother fight
The 4Kids music score and soundtrack are better than the Japanese’s version.
@ArmanAditya Basu the 90s American pop songs were put on the soundtrack because kids were use to those kinds of songs.
I just finished watching the original 1998 movie & it’s still enough to make a grown man cry
I love how they make the old movie 3D,yet they still keep the old song I Love "brother my brother"
"So what if their parents were clones? They're all living creatures. They DESERVE to live! And they DESERVE to know about themselves just as much as you, or me, or anybody does" - This quote from Meowth from Pokemon Mewtwo Returns always comes to mind whenever I hear Brother my Brother.
Loved it
I will never understand why people don't like this song for this scene. It adds to the message of the movie.
I'm glade I wasn't the only one borthered by this as Pokemon the 1st Movie was the first ever movie that I watched as a Kid with my Father.
Ok... I have to say that Pidgeot was a horrible 3D model... May Arceus forgive me.
The 1998 movie was so much better.
agreed you have done this a great justice
This... is perfection
Mewtwo and mew are the only ones that were still fighting while the rest of the Pokemon and mewtwos clones couldn't keep going Pikachu was the only that refused but his clone just wanted to keep going
Begun the clone wars has and this time is just as bad
If Pikachu encountered Raichu (If it appeared in that movie) it would've been even funny.
Damn...seeing this in cgi and now with the song added its more painful and heartbreaking to watch...their behaving like real life animals trying to fight for survival
This video is super awsome great job on it
They missed such a good opportunity what a shaaameee. This would've gone back up in the charts along with M2M's Don't Say You Love Me and made their numbers so much better.
How did they not use this song in the remake?!
It would be too long for the movie

Because it wasn’t in the original Japanese version.
This right here made that scene 1000000x better!!! You sir are a Saint and I thank you.
Pokémon and Yugioh are 4kids’ only best dubs.
excellent video dude .you deserve more subs
I remember seeing the old animated Pokemon movie in theaters when it came out back in 1999. The theater was packed with kids and fans of Pokemon! Good times. The thing about the older animated movie is not just action scenes and Pokemon but it also had a pretty decent soundtrack that everyone who saw it back then associated with their youth and nostalgia. It's in their memories when they were younger and happier so that's why that appealed more back then. Also the fact that Pokemon mania was so huge back then and became a huge phenomenan! Everyone was playing the Gameboy games in school, bringing their Pokemon cards everywhere in the library, and all the merchandise being sold in every stores. Everywhere you look all you saw and hear about was Pokemon. I'm not gonna judge today's younger fans because they're the next generation but those of us who experience those times is something that happens once in a lifetime! It was like an event, it was you before graduating high school, it was your childhood that you'll never get back and it was your memories! The music and those other things associated with that adds even more to that beloved nostalgia!
I will never understand why this was cut from the remake
Let's go! It's me!!!!!
@Ash Ketchup hi
wtf
I litterally skipped to this part on Netflix to see if the movie was worth watching. Such an impactful scene to my younger self. Thanks for making this and helping me scratch that itch.
The only reason why I didn’t like this one, is because they kept out all the good music yo!
You people are my crowd. Nobody I know personally grew up with this movie.
You can just tell the pacing in this movie was too fast this scene would have had such more impact if it was just slowed down just a bit
On the other hand... animations are so dragged out that you lose interest. Ia this weird cpmbo of dragging out unceaery things and going past at brakeneck speeds the things that matter.
I still remember watching the original when it first came to theaters and this was my favorite part because of brother my brother, I had never heard the song before then and it instantly became one of my absolute favorites and I immediately went out and bought the cd so I could get this song.
