I do Soft Start as well. For the first 15 minutes my grade 1, 2 and 3 class firstly finish any unfinished work and then have coloring, crafts, puzzles, card games, etc. just a fun quiet way to start our day. They get to talk to their friends and start their day off right. We also get organized, water bottles get filled, and someone may need a snack.
With your zippered plastic folders, you carefully unclip the black tab on the zipper and you can put a laminated label with a hole in it through the string and then redo the black tab. That’s how I label my plastic folders.
Thanks for sharing. I like the new posters you made. Classroom set-up definitely requires work from home! The parents at your school don't fill out the personal info form at the front office? Maybe admin can give all teachers the same form for the parents to fill out. Copies of the forms can then be made and the originals go to the office.
Yes they do, but a lot of teachers make another form. I also copy the office form. But there's a few extra things I wanted to ask for that isn't on the office form.
Could you please do a video(if it not too much work)on using Canva? I never used it and would lie to make ones for myself to help save money. Thank you. Alicia from CT
With my first day of school on Tuesday, I probably won't be able to create one for awhile. I'm sure there are videos already created that could at least get you started!
I am! At first, I wasn't sure because our district was still working on the COPPA paperwork, but now it's approved and we are good to use it. I thought about using a site called Class Equity that seems really great for a class economy system. But it doesn't have the parent connection piece and I really like Class Dojo for communicating with parents.
@@msrachelvincent Well Rachel, I wish I had things like Class Dojo, Class Equity, etc. these more positive classroom management things when I was a school student. - Dwight

Love that!
When you throw the messed up paper! 🤣 I feel you!
😂 I was so mad!

What a great tip!
Oddly, I am doing the exact same thing! Starting on fridays and see how it goes. Getting everything together now, thinking of rules etc…
Hopefully it all works out for the both of us! ☺️
The 0.3 mm laminating pouches on Amazon are perfect and much cheaper than the 3M ones.
Good to know!

Oh I love Ms. May! I'll have to go look for that video!

Did you continue doing soft start only on fridays or did you switch to everyday? How's it going?
I stuck with just on Fridays.
Hi Rachel,
Are you still gonna do Class Dojo?
