Fun thing about Stave Off that you can't do with most similar cards is that you can target your opponent's creatures to fizzle their pump spell or knock off an enchantment.
I used Whispergear Sneak in a Chaos draft to peek at my last pack and, seeing I had Jace Vryn's Prodigy coming up, I had a better idea what to draft for it.
15:28 Very late, but didn't Kenji use this on Marshall instead of the other way around? I distinctly remember the face Kenji made as he opened the booster pack, smelled it, and then looked at Marshall.
Long time listener, first time commenter. Love Crack-a-Pack. I do have something for the suggestion box. When doing International packs and Graham is guessing what the card is, could there be the English language version of the card beside the International version? I can see the angle of "guess along with him", but as a relatively newer player it feels a bit one sided. Not sure if others feel the same, but I thought I would throw it out there. Love all the content you guys put out!
It's kind of funny that there's been multiple cards in this one where I had the name wrong and the text correct. Some cards and names are just very similar
@@GrizonII I suppose the more accurate version of the joke would be using Foretell as 'Kicker you pay up front' but i was mostly just going for the 'every MTG mechanic is just Kicker' bit.
@@gaz-l621 Yeah I get the bit I just think there are better examples to use for it since that's one of the mechanics that wouldn't actually be able to be done using kicker.
I'd wager Graham at least knows his katakana judging from him immediately knowing respite was an instant as he, I assume with the pause, looked at the type line.
Hey that's me! We bought this in Japan in 2017 (I think?) Nice little surprise to see this pop up 😊
Translator's Note: "Keikaku" means plan.
I keep forgetting this, and I constantly assume that quote is just "Yes!! All according to Kate Kaku!" who is just like a Kamen Rider villain 😅
All according to cake.
Oh I remember "Someone's Egg Has Exploded" A classic commander card.
Ah yes, the Spell of Trans Your Gender
Grenzo's epithet in Japanese literally translates to "Dungeon Manager" and I find that unbelievably funny
Angry Karens in a prison probably would like to have a word with him
Being able to add a bump in the night to any deck sounds like a beejlander rule.
Fun thing about Stave Off that you can't do with most similar cards is that you can target your opponent's creatures to fizzle their pump spell or knock off an enchantment.
I'll have you know, Cinder Wall is great in my Defenders aggro deck! It only cares about being destroyed when it *blocks*, not when it attacks.
Actually inspires me to make a deck where creatures lose their abilities just to run walls with deaths shadow 😂
And in a format with Warmonger's Chariot too
“Grenzo goes really well with this Bump in the Night, a draft format that doesn’t exist” it doesn’t exist *yet*, there are always future masters sets…
I see why you didn't call this one "Japanese Conspiracy"
Oh. Is that a whole bag of worms?
I immediately guessed Dream Fracture based on the art, it's very iconic and memorable to me 😄
I used it a ton in Eventide standard.
i appreciate how much paul this has
I don't Say this enough: Thank you Heather, we all like Heather here.

Yo I'm excited for the new Bumpscosity Draft, where you just get to take a free Bump in the Night at the start!
I played Grenzo in a Tiny Leaders deck, and he was actually really good. Turns out, BR makes really good sub-3 mana aggro cards.
I opened so much of this specific set, I knew all the cards. Don't at me. And dream fracture is legit in multiplayer.
Graham's happiness at getting these right fills me with joy.
It's okay, Graham. I also thought that was Cogwork Spy. I guess we all just remember that card more than this one.
Very cute to get a Japanese Bump in the Night too 😂❤
In the vein of starting with "Ohio" I'll say "toy touch a mustache" for this crack a pack!
Glad to have this back, keep it up
Delightful as always!

Oh HELL yes. New episode!
i love the enthuiasm
Japanese Cinderwall, for some reason, is destroyed at the end of turn, not the end of combat
we back baby! heck yes!
I'm suprised you haven't invented a format like dan-dan with just bump in the nights.
I want to go to BIG MAGIC now!
9:20 So disappointed he didn't say "I haven't the foggiest idea." Would've been perfect. Alas.
Silly Graham, every set has Kicker. Kaldheim? Kicker but you have to attack first. WOE? Kicker but you sac an enchantment to pay for it.
If for Kaldheim you mean Boast that's not kicker since it's an activated ability, not a cost paid while casting.
@@GrizonII whoosh

Every ability is Kicker or Horsemanship, is that the bit?
Im sure I missed it somewhere, but I really miss a FamJam for WoE... Why wasnt there one? I had to draft 8 hours by myself 😕
Man, I wish I hadnt lost that pack of Japanese Aether Revolt :/
box even

I thought "ohio" meant "oh god oh bus they're getting stronger" in Canadian
3:14 egg
I would love to see wheeler do a non English crack a pack.
Yeah! Love me some Crack-A-Pack :)
Conspiracy for the conspiracy god!
💙
Crack! A! Pack!
Ohio should mean “rust”, not “corn”.
I know this is a silly ass question, but where did you guys get your jumbo solid color dice? Also just to say love the content!
