- Is it strange that this movie comes out in 6 months and I'm already making a video with one of of the songs?? Shows how much of a fan I am :D
I don't care what my mother says: I am seeing the midnight showing when it comes to our theater (she'll probably want to come with me [my mom's awesome like that :D]) and I am dragging my friends with me (Wolfie-cough-cough [and Sisko if she wants to come {she'll probably only come if we have to get out of school for it}])
Actually, THE HOBBIT is in two parts . . . and Part Two comes out in 2013 . . . I get to go see TWO midnight showings!!!!! :D
A full version of this video will follow when the soundtrack comes out, I buy it, and Movie Maker stops being a bitch (that's the only reason this was done on iMovie).
And if I ever decided to cast THE HOBBIT Hetalia-style, the dwarves would all be the Nordics (and probably all their little micronations to fill all the rest of the parts) :D They're just so dwarfish and deep like that :D (I use this face too often ^~^)
So anyway.
I tried to match each of the Nordics with their most prominent element:
Norway: Mountains (His are the tallest of any of the Nordics :D)
Denmark: Earth (He doesn't have much else other than one of the longest beaches in the world. That's pretty earthy, right?)
Sweden: Forests (He is known for his forests and lakes.)
Finland: Wind (I see Finland as having more storms and gales than any other Nordic. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not; how will I ever know?)
Iceland: Fire (Volcano. Duh.)
All: They're also known as a group to have very strange and prominent folklore that is eerie, strange and exciting.

There are people who say that the song is boring or that it's a song for you to sleep. I think it touches deep and it takes me to another place, is just close my eyes and I love it. I always remember norwegian places and tales with these songs haha..

The first two images reminds me of the fanfic 'The Dragonheart'. It's probably one of the best in the fandom.

Reading you talking about the movie coming out in theatres is so weird to me. Having spent much of my memorable life watching the Hobbit series, I never thought about it having come out not that long ago. It's such a good movie and this is such a good song
And thus, I scour the internet to tide me over until BotFA comes out, even if I am in no way mentally prepared for it. But still, this is AMAZING!

Dwarves are of Nordic/Germanic origin. Which means they are technically speaking of Viking mythology.
+Th. Noatak actually Anglo-Saxon and Briton myth was born from Celtic lore.. any roman lore is well birthed from Greek lore. Plus Celtic lore did have elves but not the same. Celtic's mythology was known highly for the Faye myths which are in a lot of the Forgotten Realms books.

They comprised people from Germanic tribes who migrated to the island from continental Europe, their descendants, and indigenous British groups who adopted some aspects of Anglo-Saxon culture and language. So I'm guess Celtic and Germanic lore melded during this time period.
+Th. Noatak actually I never looked up Germanic history just I knew of the Celtic tribes fought against the Saxon's and some Nordic tribes that sailed over. I just thought the Saxon's where just another indigenous tribe. well I just learned something new. lol

Sipu97 actually the title "Lion of the North" comes from this one swedish king in the 16th century ( www.reformation.org/lion-of-the-north.html) - and that's why Sweden is called Lion of the North, and many pictures shows him with a lion ouo
Furthermore, all Scandinavian countries got lions on their shields, it seems to be some ongoing theme among them XD
