I was born in 1945, so I really grew up in the 50s. It was great ! The freedom we had as kids was unbelievable. Playing in the neighborhood until your mom called you in for dinner. We all played outside. We were so much more physically active than the kids of today. No computers, or cell phones tied us down ! Life was good in the 50s ! 💙💙💙

Born in 53 and the things I've seen over my 70 years do not compare what I see in the pollical arena today. Disgusting times now.

This music makes you feel that everything was so great and wonderful back then. Did you see the Alabama pic. With the line for white people and a line for colored people? that is how F’d up our country was. Not to mention the Korean War back in the 50’s.

I was born in 1950 so I grew up in the 50's. My folks moved into their first house in January 1950 in Pico, Ca. (now Pico Rivera, Ca.)about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. We lived on a dead end street so every one knew each other. Our lives there was like watching Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best or Ozzie & Harriet. No one locked their doors or their cars. There were 9 of us boys all born in1950 and around 15 of us born from 1949-1951. We always had enough to play baseball, football, basketball and hide-n-seek. In the late 50's we'd go to the local kiddie matinee at our local theater on Saturday afternoons to watch sci-fi, monster, horror, cowboy, war and comedy movies. We saw a double feature, coming attraction, 2 cartoons and either a Laurel & Hardy or 3 Stooges short for just 15 cents. For another 15 cents you could buy a popcorn, a soda and a candy bar (Milk Duds or a Sugar Daddy for me). In 1960 it went up to 25 cents. Talk about inflation!!! The only really bad part of the 50's were the polio shots, practicing the "duck and cover" procedure (like hiding under your desk and covering your head was going to save you from being vaporized in a nuclear attack) and the testing of the air raid sirens on the fourth Friday of every month at 9:00 AM for 10 minutes. Were we supposed to hide under our desks just in case?? They claim the 1950's was the best decade to be raised in and I believe it after seeing what life it like now in the USA, especially for kids.

I remember wanting to eat my eraser. It smelled so good. Eating spam sandwich’s. Born in 1944.
