I played against Lenny Cooke in a hs summer league and expected him to have a ridiculous amount of success. Never would've expected what actually happened to him. He was hitting threes from 5 feet beyond the arc, windmilling and 360 dunking in game. And then nothing. Sometimes a boatload of talent only goes so far if an athlete can't get their sh*t together off court. I hope Cooper keeps his ego in check, good people in his circle and stays humble

Duke is a great choice for him. One of the best schools to get a solid basketball education that will either get you ready for the pros, or show you that you might want to think about a different profession. He's absolutely got the skills, talent and attitude, but let's be blunt here. A lot of the hype Cooper Flagg is getting is because he's the best white American prospect since probably Larry Bird. His hype is definitely bigger than Kevin Love's was, and Love has had a tremendous career in high school, college and the NBA. As a basketball fan, I'm excited to watch this guy. He will definitely bring in a certain type of new basketball fan, and, personally, I'm eager to meet and welcome them.

Christian Laettner was the one college player on the Dream Team and he was an All-Star just once with no championships, which is good, but its not necessarily what you'd expect if college success translated to professional success. JJ Redick had a very good college career and a very unremarkable NBA career, same with Doug McDermott, Frank Kaminsky etc.

You obviously know nothing about the level of Basketball Cooper plays at. Virtually every game Cooper has played for the last two years have been against teams stocked with college-level players. Monteverde plays a national schedule against the other 1-2 dozen elite teams in the country. Even on his own team, he gets zero preferential treatment. Last year he averaged only 9 points a game as a soph, then broke the EYBL scoring record in his first summer league game, scoring 52 points playing with teammates from Maine. EYBL (Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League) is a league only for elite level players. It is the level of all of Cooper's summer league games last year, when he really exploded onto the scene. I'm on the fence where Cooper will be just a very good NBA player or a Superstar...but that's the only real question about his future in my opinion.

Can handle the ball and shoot it well enough. Hes going to be a stud in college and if he gets off to a good start he’ll have a great NBA career.
He’s handle isn’t that good and he can’t really shoot of the dribble and he also can’t really creator his own shot at all but hopefully that changes
The thing is we don't know yet because it's literally high school. Wait until college when Cooper doesnt play tiny little highschoolers for some games and lets see how he does (no hate)

It is Prep ball where he plays against some of the best prep teams in the country along with the best “regular” high school teams.
He plays on the number 1 ranked HS team in the country…

You obviously know nothing about the level of Basketball Cooper plays at. Virtually every game Cooper has played for the last two years have been against teams stocked with college-level players. Monteverde plays a national schedule against the other 1-2 dozen elite teams in the country. Even on his own team, he gets zero preferential treatment. Last year he averaged only 9 points a game as a soph, then broke the EYBL scoring record in his first summer league game, scoring 52 points playing with teammates from Maine. EYBL (Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League) is a league only for elite level players. It is the level of all of Cooper's summer league games last year, when he really exploded onto the scene. I'm on the fence where Cooper will be just a very good NBA player or a Superstar...but that's the only real question about his future in my opinion.
Montverde isn’t playing tiny little hs tho
mb little overstatement but he plays the top ranked teams maybe once a month and even then the skill gap is huge because all the good players want to be on the dominant teams like img and monverte so dont say some puny ass ranked 15 can go up against montverte
