      +abhokie1 Thanks :). I'm a busy dude so I just do this as a hobby but I try and see and review as many films as I can haha. I'll definitely be doing The Death Cure in a week or so, and the big movies like Han Solo, Avengers etc.

    Good list. Has Call Me By Your Name or Lady Bird been released in the UK? Those are two great movies you should watch.

    When Logan was reference all the horrible shit that happen to the x men and mutants, I was kind of dissapointed knowing the entire X Men series was completely pointless (especially Days of Future Past). I guess this was the film's objective.

    What a peculiar and interesting list you have there mate. Here are my thoughts on each number:
    10. Haven't watched it yet. Glad to see Steven Soderbergh directing again though.
    9. Thought the villain was meh but the actress' performance is amazing. Overall, movie was kinda shallow, lacks depth and the perfect popcorn flick. Loved Korg though.
    8. All of the Marvel movies this year are def better than this. Boring first act and a jarring third act and twisted it's morals, this is the most overrated movie this year imo.
    7. Deserves to be higher, the way the story is told is unique and bizarre.
    6. It's a 2016 film, 1st act is cheesy
    5. One of the best movie this year imo, a blessing to the eyes. It has many layers that I can get past the fact that Jared Leto is kinda meh.
    4. Overrated imo
    3. In the same vain as your no. 9 spot, entertaining, but at least it understand Batman's psychology.
    2. Overrated imo, hilarious but not as good as Ed Wood, a better movie in the same genre.
    1. Understandable and with you all the the way mate, it's fucking exhilarating, beautiful, poetic and heart wrenching as hell.
    Wish you filled the 2016 movies with actual 2017 movies, but whatevs, this is your list anyways. Here's mine though( haven't watched Three Billboards):
    BLADE RUNNER 2049
    GOOD TIME
    IT COMES AT NIGHT
    DUNKIRK
    LOGAN
    THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER
    MOTHER!
    BABY DRIVER
    GET OUT
    GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2
    RAW
    COLOSSAL
    SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING
    OKJA
    THOR RAGNAROK
    KOE NO KATACHI
    SPLIT
    JOHN WICK CHAPTER 2
    THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE
    Lemme know your thoughts on my list. Advanced happy New Year, mate!!!

    Tell you what might be a nice format, or an additonal video. Doing your top 5 best and top 5 worst films of the year, possibly as a seperate video? Might be nice to hear you ripping on stuff pretty hard

    • @FilmRant
      @FilmRant  6 лет назад

      +joeborder Might be more balanced than a top 10. 5 of each. Could do that next year.

      I wrote my comment before seeing the whole video, but now that I have I am a little surprised. I'm shocked you canned Baby Driver, especially with your love affair with Edgar Wright, and even more shocked by picking Logan as #1. Frankly I think it's overlooked by most as an early release this year but I remember watching it and being like, shit fam this is pretty hard hitting - where as normally you expect a marvel/xmen movie to be at least somewhat triumphant in the end - you make a good point about time/age being the prevalent nemesis to both Charles and Logan, while at the same time giving you some sliver of hope that the mutant kids made it to safety (although I've no clue what safety Canada provides them in the context of the ending).
      Either way, good list, good effort and well justified as always. I rate 5/7 perfect score.

      +joeborder 5/7 is what I aimed for. Yeah I didn't like Baby Driver's story, and some things the characters did didn't sit well with me.

    John Wick 2 is shit? Nah man, whatever your opinion on the film is, it is a FACT that it is a well-crafted, well-coreographed and very well-directed film...

    • @FilmRant
      @FilmRant  6 лет назад

      +mrlelle111 Action scenes are good and it's well made. But the story is just stupid. The first one was so simple and focussed, but the second one was dull and it seems like they made it for the memes. Lawrence Fishburne didn't need to be in the movie at all. Everyone in it seemed to be some kind of assassin (that ridiculous scene at the end as he's walking out of the park) and that scene where they had the 'secrer gunfight' with silenced pistols was just too much.

    • @mrlelle111
      @mrlelle111 6 лет назад

      Well, we all have different opinions... I for one loved the story as it expanded the world of John Wick and didn't rehash the original concept. Also, the final scene doesn't necessarily imply that everyone is an assassin, to me, it was a great way of showing that John is, for once, actually afraid, at least paranoid. And I don't agree about Fishburn not being necessary, cause his part was necessary for the world-building. With Number 3 and a television show coming out, that is needed... And besides, the movie doesn't only set-up the future, it is its own thing. But hey, that's just my opinion, and I do respect yours :)

    • @FilmRant
      @FilmRant  6 лет назад

      +mrlelle111 I think saying Fishburne is important for world building is like saying the porgs were important in The Last Jedi. Sure, they expand the universe but they're just kind of... There. I totally agree that JW2 successfully expanded the universe, I just didn't think any of it was particularly interesting. The first movie is so so good and I was disappointed by the second :(. By the way, I did a review of it on my channel if you're interested :).
      You definitely have the more popular opinion by the way. Everyone I know loved it.

    Lego Batman is NOT better than Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk, or La La Land. Just my opinion, but it isn't in my top 10 of 2017.

      +Ryan Nilsen if you actually watch my video I say they came out in 2017 in the UK. So to me they're a 2017 movie.

    All those super hero movies could be trashy comedy gold if they just didn't take themselfs so god damn serious and would't be so pretentious.
