Everyone said the same thing about Ed when he was released: The complaint everywhere was that his damage scaling was so severe that his conversions were pathetic. Even pros said this. Many months later, it turned out to not be a problem. Even Rashid at launch was accused of needing better damage. Terry currently is excellent and his damage is fine. It will just take a few months for players to figure out how to use him. That we haven't yet figured out Terry is … eek … a skill issue! 😅
Terry needs a massive buff in order to be competitive, his frame data and combo damage without eating up your meter are terrible. All his moves have slow startups and half his moves can be blocked or heavily punished mid-string. There is no reason for his mediums to start up 3 frames slower than other characters in his archetype, and ESPECIALLY no reason for Power Wave to recover as slowly as it does.
@mortified0 I have tought of that myself after testing him out, and here are some ideas that I came up with for buffs/reworks: -Make L.Fireball -4 on block (up from -6) -Make His MP HP Tc -4 on block (up from -5) -Allow Ex Burn Knuckle to always crumple on hit, allowing for a lv1 follow up (Buster Wolf) In return they could make Ex Burn Knuckle more minus on block, maybe -8. -Some buff to Ex. Power Charge, maybe allow it to combo into its Power Dunk TC combo. -Buff Power Dunk TC to allow a juggle state after the 2nd hit, allowing for Dp in the corner. These are some ideas that i think would make him a better overall character. I would like to know some other people's ideas on what they could do for terry.
I'm just curious which of his mediums are actually three frames slower than the other shotos? Also a lot of terry stuff is safe and becomes better with better spacing. Not really sure what half his moves being super punishable are.
@@AlMoStLeGeNdArY1 the issue is that his specials are either very minus (l. Fireball is -9 for some reason, whereas ryu's is -5) or there interruptible like crack shot amd roumd wave(heavy fireball). This means that in order for terry to be somewhat safe after a blockstring, he usually has to spend meter on a drive rush, which isnt always ideal. Terry's medium aren't 3 frames, none of them are, his stand mp is 7 startup frame, has around 7-9 active frames and it has 16 recovery, and his c.mp is 6 startup frames, 6-9 recocery frames, and 14 recovery frames. What he needs imo is a way to not spend meter in order to be safe, quick burn would be good for that, but since its an overhead, it isnt likely gonna happen unoles they rework to no longer hit overhead and then perhaps make it -2 on block, which is personally what I would prefer. Heck, this could only be done for the non metered version and keep the ex just like it is. Whatever it is, terry needs buffs, cause as a terry main from a previous ryu main, something in his kit just doesnt feel right to me.
@chillidewd5582 I never said his mediums are 3 frames. I asked which ones start up 3 frames slower than other shotos. I think your approach to what terry can do is kinda wrong lp fireball is -9 because it travels under projectiles and across the ground so it doesn't interact with other projectiles. So if the move is -9 you don't use it in a block string. You gotta change it up you didn't mention what crack shot is on block. Spaced knuckles is plus. Terry moves can be safe when spaced and just because you don't go into fireball on block doesn't mean he doesn't have safe block strings. So you really shouldn't be getting heavily punished mid string unless you're doing something crazy like crouching jab to HP fireball. Or cr.mk cr.Hk drc st. Hk. Not really sure what you're doing to get blown up on block strings.
@AlMoStLeGeNdArY1 in comparisom to other shotos, terry's stand mp startup frame is 7, ryu's is 6, and ken's is 5, and in that case i wouldnt change cause it has more range than the other two, and it even travels foward a bit. Cr. Mp is 6 frames on all 3, which is reasonable. As for crack shot there are safe on blick at -3 and heavy is even -1 bit the issue is thaat its interruptable his light or parry as even the light version has 16 frames off startup. What i meant previously is that terry needs some form of buffs. Maybe not those i suuggestt it, but at least a bit more consistency.
Fighting game bosses in a nutshell. JP is definitely not the most unfitting character when we have a red blue demigod with wings and a female android with male voice that launch projectiles from her abdomen
He’s a satanic high priest… he’s doing witchcraft and spells with satanic chants all in ur face …😂 if u know ur in the known .. get there .. nothing zesty about his appearance brah
4:50 that was sliiick
Craaaazy move
Terry needs better conversions into damage. Each standard combo is like 13%
Terry animation got love, but he needs love overall with his gameplay/damage

@jayro792 Well yeah, rightfully so, shit costs 3 super and 3 bars of drive...
Welcome to Ed's world

Wanna work approximately half as hard as your opponent? JP is your man
Unfortunately, it’s a pretty smart decision
I don’t use JP and I even gotta say he’s not as brain deadas you think at a higher level
that was most possibly the dumbest statement ive heard in sf6
This JP character is so out of place for street fighter. Zesty as hell.

Goated comment
Imagine saying this when Gill, Fang and Dudley exist in the same franchise

If you don't like your FG characters a little zesty, are you even an FG fan ?
