Just to say it loud, BTS DOES NOT PAY FOR ADDS and BTS IS NOT FULLY SIGNED TO ANY US LABEL (Only signed for distribution to Geffen). BTS’ MUSIC IS OWNED BY BIGHIT ONLY. Blackpink are the biggest Kpop account that do this and they got called out about it. Although I doubt it was the members themselves that set it up more likely their company did that.
HYBE refuse's to use those sort of methods and BTS have spoken out about these little scheme's more than once as they've been offered them by BTS and HYBE refuse to do take part in 'Short Cut's eg pay your way to the top.

As someone who worked in the media industry before, I could explain this a little.
RUclips or any other streaming platform would look at the ROI a channel/artist is generating for them. So, if an artist is generating crazy streams and views, but not using their ads, autoplay, promotional real estate on apps/website - basically any feature that gets them to pay these platforms, they aren't necessarily profiting off the artists as much as they want to, especially when you compare to other artists who pay heavily for ads and playlisting.
Instead they would end up paying the artists for the streams/views. That's the reason for these sabotages.
A lot of other artists - western and asian, pay a lot to get promo on these platforms, so much so they sometimes never even earn back half of what they spend on getting visibility. It benefits the platforms.
Interestingly, BTS and every single member never do that. No YT ads ever, no heavy playlisting on Spotify, no radio rotations EVER (no payola) - they don't give these platforms the kind of profit they make from other artists. They don't even have a western label that could take a share of their earnings. Which is why there's this lack of fair support.

    • @rafaelsmith5737

In simpler terms it's nearly impossible to be popular without industry support, that's always been the system and the music Industry prospers by exploiting artists.
Unfortunately, artists like BTS are such a menace since they're not as exploitable.

  • @alexandras6709
    @alexandras6709 Месяц назад +30

Hey ! Just to add a couple infos :
About RUclips views, first BTS never used adds, not once. But majority of K-pop acts use them and we are not talking about a 100k or whatever, we are talking about dozen of millions of views that come from adds for some MVs (we can now see it clearly, since YT charts exists, because they are not counted for the YT charts so we can see the difference between the counter views and the views in charts and know exactly how many adds were counted as views).
And labels have to pay for these adds, so I would not be surprised at all if, in addition of the views from adds, YT is just nicer (a lot) with the filtering for channels who buy adds. BTS has never gave a cent to YT so they probably don't want to give them the max of views they could have, also because remember YT has to pay the artists for their views. So YT is playing a loosing game against BTS. The group is not giving them any money, but they are one of the most viewed act on the platform so YT has to give them a looooot of money for these billions of views. Not that surprisig that they filter them heavily, in my opinion.
And it's exactly the same with Spotify, BTS is not using "discovery" (this is a feature artists can pay to have and that is what push their song on autoplay or on the homepage etc...) and they are clearly NOT paying for playlisting considering how bad their playlisting is on Spotify despite their popularity and being, once again, one of the top 10 most streamed acts on the platform... So like YT, Spotify is playing a loosing game, where they don't gain anything directly from BTS but they have to give them a lot of money for their billions of streams.
People often talk about little money musicians gain from streaming platforms, Spotify being the worst, but they also forget that when we are talking about acts like BTS, it's still a lot of money. They are gaining an average of 12/14 millions streams daily on Spotify lately (while being on hiatus) and that just on their group profile, you then have to add their solo profile/streams for each member.
They have, if I'm not mistaken, around 37 billions streams on Spotify on their group profile (probably around 50 billions, all solo + group combined) that's a lot of money that Spotify had to send them over the years.
(And yes both of these platforms are gaining from the premium accounts of all ARMY streaming, but that's not directly and a lot of us would have those accounts with or without BTS, so they gain a little from that but not directly and it has to hurt their pride/ego too)
Anyways, there is a lot more to say about this video but I'm going to stop here, that's already a lot. And yes, Boracity is an amazing channel for BTS related videos, there is some videos more informative about the industry like this one, other that are more on the fun sides, or some very informative about their discography etc...
Thank you for the reaction, have an amazing day !

They get the same opression in Korea, wile other groups get a ton of media play and benefits from playing by the rules. This is one point that puts army at odds with the rest of the kpop community, it’s hard to accept that the artist they follow has had privilege and sometimes sketchy promotion, so they won’t call out a system that benefits their favs even if it’s incredibly unfair for artists with less “connections” or that are not willing to compromise in these fraudulent practices.

25:26 No no, Jungkook has the song with the biggest streams for a korean soloist "Seven" has 1.7 billion streams on Spotify, 3D and Standing next to You, from Golden as well as Seven, have 500million (almost 600mi, just one or two more days and it will reach it) and 700million respectively, his song with Charlie Puth has almost 1 billion streams as well. Jimin's Like Crazy has 1.1 billion streams, which's also extremely high!, but the song with the biggest streams for a ksoloist is Jungkook's, you're confusing it.
Jungkook and Jimin are the biggest k-pop soloists ever! Golden was extremely waited for and successful, and also it reached more of the general public than Face, I'd say, that's why more people were talking about it, but both are extremely successful projects, Golden was just more mainstream, and it had more american promotions than FACE.

You made some interesting comments, but BTS is being treated unfairly. Another example is V’s real name Taehyung was blocked by Twitter from the early days. Twitter classified ‘Taehyung as a common name so this name was muted. Taehyung used to tread every day on Twitter back in the day and so they muted his name. There are so many examples like these. I never heard that happening to a western artist.
By the way, not sure where you got your information on jk. Jk got a #1 on billboard as well. And his song ‘seven went viral and currently has 1.7 billion streams on Spotify while jm has 1.2 billion for’like crazy’. And total streams on Spotify for jk is currently 6.4 billion, jm 3.6 billion and v with 3.2 billion. While timing plays a part as jm released his album about 5 months before V and JK. jk blew up the American pop scene with his music. All the solos from the members did brilliantly in different ways but 6 members got #2 positions for album sales on billboard 200 and that in itself is unheard of, especially as most of them didn’t even promote in the US, like V only promoted in Korea and Japan, RM didn’t either.

I've only been an Army since October 2022, but have been following since January 2022, so I'm newer to this as well. But just from my short time as an ARMY, I've seen a lot too.
I don't have all the receipts that Bora City has shown in this video, but here are some of my observations and opinions.
    1) BTS doesn't do ads. Not in the way that affects charts is what I mean. Other artists, will buy ads, so the ad is their music video or audio which then counts as a stream. So everytime their music is played as an ad, it counts towards charts. BTS does NOT do this. There's pop ups too. So you might be on a website, and an ad pops up with a music video, these counts as streams!
    2) Other artists/labels also pay content creators (like tik tok influencers) to use their music in their videos. These videos go viral, and then people are suddenly searching for the song. I don't know if the song will count towards charts when it's being played in the video - maybe someone can confirm or deny this. If it does, then that's another way of getting streams. There was a new group last year that confirmed their label spent $6mill promoting their song by paying influencers to use it, and to be placed in playlists. They eventually were able to chart, but now they're suing their label because they owe their label that money now. I don't know if we should be promoting or celebrating this behavior. Yes it helped this group get noticed, but at what cost? They now owe their label millions before they're even making any money? And what if it's a one hit wonder? Now they're going to be forever in debt? That's crazy!
    3) BTS also never does bundles
    4) V and Jin have said in interviews that they were offered the chance to be even bigger (I believe this is referring to paying for ads, payola, being promoted in the USA, etc), but they turned it down. Because as Jin said "wouldn't it be better if we lived in a world where music is being made in more honest ways"? - You tell them Jin!
    5) RUclips Deleting Views. RUclips deletes views like CRAZY!!!! Butter by BTS is the record holder for the most views in RUclips history with 108.2 million views in the first 24 hours. That video was released in 2019. The BTS fanbase has grown exponentially since. You're telling me, that in 2019 (with a smaller fanbase) they could get 108.2million views in 24 hours, but in 2024 we can't even break 10million streams in first 24 hours? How does that make sense? And in the first hours, the likes on these videos are higher then the views. Explain that! Army also has sooooo many time lapse videos of watching the view counts freeze, or even reducing. I have witnessed this myself, but I didn't record it. As Boracity mentioned, it's impossible that a random BTS video has more views in it's first hours, then an official BTS music video drop. Also, when the members were still free and did lives, explain how their lives have more real time viewers then an official music video drop in it's first 24 hours!! Mind you, these lives are maybe 10 mins or an hour long, at odd times of the day due to different time zones. So a random 20 min live at 4am EST can get 8 million real time views, but an official music video can't break 10mill views in 24 hours?!? please explain.
Moreover, there's another content creator that did a cover of Jin's Astronaut. He was sooooo surprised to see that RUclips was deleting his views on that video. It wasn't a crazy amount of streams he was getting, but i think it's because it's a BTS related song, so it triggered the algorithms to delete it (speculation). coz why would "bots" loop a random person's song cover video which then triggers youtube to delete the views due to "bot" behaviour?
Whereas there are other groups that have close to 90mill streams in the first 24 hours. How come their streams are all counted? Unless maybe....they're bought? (speculation)
    6) Spotify. I don't follow the stream counts of Spotify, but i did notice the autoplay feature. I mainly listen to BTS. Before I i turned off the autoplay, after the playlist i selected finishes, it automatically plays me other songs. I'd get it if it was in the same genre, but many times it's completely different music. It's the music they want you to listen to. So those are extra streams counted towards charts
    7) Let's be honest, the music industry wants 200% control of everyone and everything. They don't want BTS to be massive, because that will send a message to other artists that they too do NOT need to rely on their labels and the music industry. They too can make it without shaking hands with the industry. How can the music industry allow that to happen? Of course they want to squash BTS. Didn't Bebe Rexha recently post something about being so fed up with the corrupt industry and wanting to spill all the beans about it, but said she was scared that they would punish her? well...there you go.
    8) Media. Media ALWAYS down plays BTS's success....especially in Korea. When there's a negative thing to talk about (however minute it is) they love to blow it out of proportion. But if it's an achievement, they don't. I've seen videos of content creators stopping people on the streets of south korea asking about BTS. Yes, they all know who BTS is, but many of them don't know how big they are. Many have said they were surprised when foreigners would ask them about BTS. they didn't know BTS was so popular overseas because they hear nothing about it.
I want to say that I have no hate towards other groups. Everyone is free to like what they like. You can't force me to like country music, and i can't force you not to like what you like. However....it does bug me when other groups clearly uses all these media and weird tactics to look or seem popular, and then the fans try to place them on the same level as BTS. NO, i'm sorry. BTS got to where they are purely on the shoulders of ARMY. They didn't pay media to say they sold out their concerts, they didn't pay media to say "they are the first male group with 7 members in july 2024 with a mole on their face to do so and so or achieve so and so". If you phrase it like that, obviously everyone is the best at something. There was another group touring last year....i don't even follow them, but they were in my feeds more then BTS (explain that to me first of all). I had to search for BTS content on RUclips, even though that's 90% of my consumption on youtube. There were times when i was subscribed to a channel, but even their stuff wouldn't land on my home page. I couldn't even find it if i searched it. I had to find the channel, go to their videos tab and scroll down to find the video i was looking for. But this other groups just keeps getting forced upon me? Even though i've already checked off that i'm not interested and don't suggest me these videos anymore? anyways...i was seeing everywhere that they have sold out all their shows....well...when they came to my metropolitan city....they did 2 shows at a small arena. Not even the usual concert arena that everyone plays at. There was sooo much hype before the tickets went on sale that it would be sold out instantly, blah blah blah. i have several groups of friends that ended up going. NONE of them had trouble getting tickets. I also saw friends try to resell the tickets on social media. Even on the day of the concert at a discounted price, they were still trying to sell with no biters. I then heard some people even got free tickets. I was also trying to get Agust D tickets when he was doing his tour. Since i was still new, i didn't expect it to sell out so fast. I didn't attempt to buy tickets until the 2nd day. it was COMPLETELY sold out. I couldn't even see resell tickets. When this other group was saying they sold out their concerts, i got curious and went on ticket master. there were SOOO many available tickets, and they weren't even resell. that's media play for you...but fans will take this and run with it and say they're bigger then BTS...sorry...they are not. and that is ok. but stop.
thanks for letting me vent. now back to work. 💜

So glad you watched this! I tend to be extremely critical and skeptical in general. I don't just agree with fan theories without proof. Over my years as ARMY however, I have seen happen what Bora said in this video -- many of her other videos explain the different phenomena in more detail. (This video she made as more of a summary overview.)
For example, your question about RUclips ads; many labels buy YT ads and use them to get autoplayed music video streams for their artist. We've all probably experienced that. BTS has never done this, therefore RUclips doesn't make money off their music videos. Jin has gone so far as to say during an award acceptance speech that the industry tactics should be more honest and based on what people enjoy. He phrased it in a well mannered way so that it wasn't targeting any artist or label specifically, but from then on it was clear to ARMY that BTS is frustrated by these tactics and wants people to genuinely enjoy their craft. BigHit founder Bang Si-Hyuk has also been clear about wanting to focus on artists who love and believe in music; it's why he left a big label to create BigHit.

  • @katen542
    @katen542 Месяц назад +5

At the end of the day it just comes down to money. BTS/BigHit have always operated independently such that the rest of the industry ecosystem doesn’t make money off them. But, because of ARMY, BTS still rises to the top, and gets in the way of artists that DO make the industry money. That’s really all it is.

BTS choosing not to attend the 2023 Grammys was honestly such a power move. They always got invited, then mentioned as a 'coming up' throughout the entire running of the show, just to get robbed of their nomination and get to perform a singular song right at the end, while other artists got to perform multiple tracks. They clearly just got used for views and engagement and they said 'no thank you'.
And don't get me started on music award shows adding a kpop category, just so BTS can't win any of the bigger awards.
EDIT: Because I haven't really seen anyone mention it - the girl they kept showing that you asked about is Olivia Rodrigo, she's a great singer

Tbh, I watched BTS videos from an account that did not have Premium, and the adds to BTS videos are just adds to certain products, where for other artists I've seen music videos as ads. Also, aftter seeing this video I've paid more attention to the first day of streams on YT for a BTS member video and I saw how hour after hour tens of thousands of views were deleted. More than a million ( can't remember now for which MV it was tbh - I will edit the comment if I remember ) views were deleted in the span of 6h for a comeback in the first day. Then I also checked that song a few days and then weeks later and the viewes keep getting lower. I liked your reaction and comments. It’s hard to understand because you’re so new to BTS, but they really are sabotaged on lots of platforms including media. Also, different version do count for billboard for charting, so like crazy English version does count for charting on charts since they are combined, which is why for example, Taylor swift has multiple versions of her songs which help her chart on BBhot100 Or 200 charts. but not for streaming only the explicit and clean versions combine for streaming, versions/ remixes count separately. I think you might be confusing Golden and Face streams. Though Face is extreme popular, Jungkooks Golden is actually the most streamed album, and seven was the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams, he also has been the most streamed soloist since his solo collab with Charlie Puth. Golden has definitely generated more gp success and it helps that the songs are in English. But he had 3 top 5 hits on BB100 alone from his Golden album. Again Face is extremely popular also, but Golden is most streamed.

BTS' English songs have mostly been considered K-pop because they are Koreans. But Billie Eilish and another (Spanish, I think?) artist made a song in Spanish and got an award in the 'Latin America' category, despite neither of them being Latin American.

And with RM's Come Back To Me too, the fandom was so united at that time because of the whole hybe drama...there is no way he received only that much streams. Also do you know about not having Smeraldo garden marching band available for preorders by the American label they have a distribution deal with and when ARMYs started calling it out, we got a very unproffesional reply back. So the ads comment was not about having normal ad breaks in the video - instead, some companies will pay for an actual music video to take the place of an ad in another video. So you are watching, say, an Allonsyyy reaction video and when the ad break starts, it is an actual music video. Even if you skip ad, that still ads a metric to the music video that played in place of an ad. That is specifically what Boracity was referring to.

I've been in the fandom since 2015 and i assure you that we saw all the patterns and the rules targets the boys... For I think it was RM, and another group I won't mention because they don't deserve hate (it's just an observation btw, I don't have anything against anyone, just saying ^^), at some point RM got something like 2M likes out of 5M views while the other group (much less famous) got around 15M views and only 300k likes (numbers are wrong but this is something along those lines), this isn't normal at all, and this was not the day after its release but days later so there's definitely something fishy about those counts...

It's laughable that ARMYs streaming songs is considered "bot behaviour" but paying to play a song on the radio that everyone is tired of hearing is considered "organic"
BB confronted BTS about ARMYs mass-buying being considered "unfair". RM said that it wasn't their or ARMYs' fault. He said that BB could give more importance to streaming rather than sales if they wanted to. And that they were easy targets because they are Asian and a boy band
K-pop fans laughed at them when BB changed the rules to give more importance to radio play, saying that Namjoon should have kept his mouth shut and that they would never have another #1 hit. Without realising that it hurt other K-pop groups more than BTS. In the hand, they got more because no-one stops BTS and ARMY 💜

Can't wait for more Boracity videos, she has a lot of great videos about BTS and the music industry both kpop and western.
As for what BTS thinks of all this- during one practically bad hit piece interview from Billboard (where they called all of their #1s from fan support fraudulent in the same special edition billboard/BTS magazine that they were trying to charge ARMYs $125 for) RM said after being insulted throughout the interview "But if there is a conversation inside billboard about what being no.1 should represent, then it's up to them to change the rules and make streaming weigh more on the ranking. Slamming us or our fans for getting to no. 1 with physical sales and downloads, i don't know if that's right... it just feels like we're easy targets because we're a boy band, a K-pop act, and we have this high fan loyalty".
I mean, it is great that BTS/ARMYs are being successful without industry support (like how Jimin's Like Crazy still did so well), but the constant accusations of fraudulent behavior when the industry's tactics are so underhanded (with their fingers constantly on the scale) is problematic.

others have already explained the bit about BTS not using youtube ads or paid discovery features on spotify so i'll just share something i find ironically funny about Like Crazy
its clear even BigHit was expecting the English version of Like Crazy to gain traction & possible radio spins in the US & show results on charts, given the fact that the 2 remixes were for the english versions. We know how both the song & jimin were fcked over in that regard by BB & even Spotify (it didn't even get a low entry on the TTH biggest Spotify curated playlist despite debuting on Spotify Global #1, being stable in top 25 for quite a while as well as a subsequent BB hot 100 #1, ever).
Now ALL the incredible records & accomplishments Like Crazy has - from its fastest 1 Billion streams (unfiltered & soon filtered), longevity on BB 200 charts, Spotify charts, etc are all for Like Crazy Korean version. Its the most streamed Korean song on Spotify us, 1st Korean song to reach 1B streams on Spotify, most streamed solo song by a Kpop soloist on Spotify history, etc
Clearly Jimin has made an incredible song & language has nothing to do with it, but i also personally believe that they really done pissed a whole fandom off so bad that along with locals & non fans who simply loved the song, we've just been giving it our all for the Korean one instead.

The thing is that BTS themselves said once (i think it was V who specifically said it) that when they first entered west, they were proposed a deal that would help them achieve stuff "easier", but they declined. Industry wants you to take the hand they're offering you and when someone refuses, they'll make sure you regret it. There was this Korean industry specialist who talked about this issue, bc news about BTS achievements are not reported on the same scale as other acts who achieve (let's be honest) way less than the boys. When they got nominated for the grammys, the korean news painted it like "BTS failed to make it into main categories", so it's not exclusive to the west. This guys said it's bc BTS didn't go through the institutions other artist did to achieve the level of success that they have right now. They didn't attend tv shows much, bc the hosts were treating them poorly, that's why RunBTS became a thing. BTS had to promote themselves by YT logs, bc back then korean music industry was controlled by bigger labels. When BigHit announced tha BTS will hold their online concert on their own social media app Wevers, Naver (korean google) didn't like it, bc they were the owners of VLive (the streaming app all idols used), bc they were losing big money, so they invested in another big label, at the end of the day Weverse acquired 51% of vlive and combined the apps, Naver owns the rest 49%. The industry is trying to hold back something, they have no control over, bc BTS doesn't need the industry to be successful and they don't like that. They don't get any profit out of the boys. BigHit did one thing right and they own 100% of BTS masters, only geffen gets some % for the distribution deal, but that's it and it sure isn't enough since their employees are shading BTS on X.. They also started sabotaging BTS by not providing pre-order links early enough and wait until the last day, didn't provide the european version of Jimin's new album with no inclusions, so it'd count on UK charts, even tho we were getting these before. I know it might seem like we are paranoid, but we've been robbed countless of times in the broad daylight and even some non-fans noticed it. BTS do not buy ads on YT (that snake), if you see an ad with bts mv once in a blue moon and check who is the owner it'd be a fan account. Also many artist use streaming farms, bc tell me why when you check streams of the "most popular songs" you'll see that most of them came from a small town from US with like 10k citizens (seen it with my own 2 eyes in 2019). With radio armys were gaslight for YEARS that there was no demand for BTS songs to be played even tho the amount of requests from armys was MASSIVE! Armys also used to send gifts to radio stations like flowers and cupcakes, but later a gc of radio DJ's got leaked and they talked nasty stuff about these gifts and the fans, that the cupcakes were poisoned etc. and that they won't play BTS songs. They used to keep armys on their side for years by giving BTS songs 1 spin at zombie hours, so armys had false hopes it'll become better. After the gc was exposed, we gave up radio all together, tho it's still fcked up that majority of the points for charts come from radio that is untouchable, but charts will change the rules as they please depending on BTS numbers. Every time BTS or members release music, somehow the charts' announcements get delayed due to some "issues" and then suddenly our filtering rate gets crazy, just to lower the streams just enough for them to be behind the song they desperately promoted (happened in 2021 with Butter 1st day streams on spotify just so Olivia Rodrogo's (the one you said 'must be huge lmao') song would go #1 bc she had a crazy promo deal with spotify, where people were getting free car wash if they stream her song or free ice cream.. and if you think it's just bitter fans talking Butter got 20.9M unfiltered streams and 11M filtered streams which gives you over 43% filter rate and even tho it broke an all-time record for the biggest debuton spotify global chart, it just so happens that they ended #2 and suddenly Olivia's song garnered 12M 'with a new daily high' streams and the song was released for a week or so already. The chart release obviously was delayed for a few hours and we joked that they had emergency meeting about how many % of filtering rate they can give BTS without looking sus) There's a lot of people who don't know what industry plant is and will argue about it with you, but the perfect example would be the abcde song that was a tiktok one hit wonder or like i mentioned before Olivia, who got such crazy deals with spotify we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw this circus happening in real life and her career also started with a tiktok drama, so... also i worked in a mall in clothing store, the store had bought pre-made playlist from spotify and the songs would repeat over and over to the point we as workers had enough of them, but that's how play listing works and we couldn't play anything else, bc a deal is a deal.. Also have you ever thought why the grammys are separating latin artists from the main show? They now want to make an asian version as well 💀 You wouldn't believe how many Kpop groups were promoted as "the next BTS" (what a joke) or "BTS sister/brother group", the amount of times BTS got mentioned in articles about other group supposed "achievement" downplaying and lying on BTS success just to make the other group look better (happened recently).

ARMY doesn’t gatekeep BTS because my interactions with other ARMYs from across the world is the closest thing I’ve ever seen to world peace. Millions of people from every nation in the world supporting BTS’ message of love yourself, love others, end violence, end bullying. (Except for those few militant ARMYs who bully people for BTS’s sake, which I don’t think the members would actually approve of) And when you run into another ARMY whether it’s in a gas station in a small town in Montana, or a Pub in Ireland, or the airport in Fiji you are automatically friends because you know that for the most part, ARMY is good people. Do you remember that 80s movie, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure? Where the government sends someone back to the past to help Bill and Ted graduate high school because in the future they will form a band that brings world peace? I thought the concept of a band creating world peace was farcical until I saw the power of BTS. Although I know that that concept puts a lot of unasked for and unwelcome weight on the members shoulders it’s just kind of a side effect of the messages they put in their music and the great example they show the world through their charity and activism.

The only thing I really dislike about k-pop is the ridiculous fan wars. I am a Stray Kids fan first, I also love Ateez & BTS. Some fans of all groups can be very toxic, unfortunately. Just keep in mind, these groups have a lot of respect for each-other & many are friends. Stray Kids have said they look up to BTS and have even done a cover of one of their songs..same with Ateez. There are a lot of friendships amongst these groups as well as others. I try to ignore any negative comments directed at other groups regardless of who it is. Even groups I may not be a huge fan of. They all work hard to be where they are and many develop close friendships during their trainee days. Honestly most of these groups would be extremely disappointed at the behavior of some of their fans. I would say just be careful about ever comparing groups as people can get very sensitive about that. I look forward to seeing more Stray Kids, Ateez & BTS reactions! ❤

Why I don't listen to radio?
Because radio plays certain songs to death like 2 - 3 times in an hour...
So I rather create a playlist on Spotify and listen to songs I actually want to hear.

30:58 this happened again today with jimin's new album. This is hanteo, this chart is supposed to update every hour till midnight and then it would reset. Jimin's album sold aroud 700k copies in just 4 hours, which was 5 pm in korea, the chart stopped updating after that. So muse ended the day with 700k copies sold according to the chart, but thats not accurate at all and the actual sales are probably double of it or even more than that. This innacurate data is then counted towards music shows and year-end award shows, which is just unfair. I can bet my life tomorrow they're going to post an "apology" saying it was "technical error", it would be possible to believe them but how are these "technical errors" ONLY happening to bts? There's new albums released every single week, yet in the past 1.5 years these "technical errors" have only happened with 3 albums, all three of those were bts albums.

Bts didn’t pay any YT/ Spotify ads & buying view like other K-pop groups.
More views bts got, more money YT/ platforms needs pay back to them. YT can’t making profits from bts so that’s why their MV views always deleted by YT. ( eg. Over 1M views of ‘’ON’’ MV had been deleted on the release date)

I didn't see a comment on this, so I thought I'd add my two cents in. You were talking about "bot behavior" and typical fandom behavior for a new release, but ARMY isn't a typical fandom. We literally go out of our way to avoid what YT might consider bot behavior just because of the way YT deletes view. We don't put a video on loop, we take breaks in between watching and rewatching the video, and so on. When it's ARMY watching a newly released video, nearly every single view from an ARMY is a person who has pulled up the video and physically clicked "play". In no way is it bot behavior, and yet millions of views still get deleted. BTS videos still get so many views because ARMY works so hard to overcome the crap that YT and other platforms pull.
With Jimin and his song, Like Crazy, his place on the charts was driven by sales more than anything else. ARMYs tend to buy multiple copies of an album, especially since Hybe often has a fan meeting or special merch that they raffle off and each album purchased is one entry into the raffle. So, Billboard changed the rule and counted emails used to purchase albums instead of actual albums. Of course, that doesn't entirely count for losing 90% of Jimin's sales, but that definitely would have lowered the numbers and it's a rule that didn't really affect anyone else on the chart. Jimin dropped from #1 down to #46. Even more telling, during the time between the announcement of the first eligible week's standings and the second week's standings, a number of industry people were talking about how Jimin might have gotten #1 that first week but, "just wait and see what happens in the second week". In other words, they were absolutely positive that there would be a significant drop in his standings and that could have only been possible if his fall on the chart was rigged. Also, ARMY has tried countless times to get BTS songs played on the radio and unless an American company is somehow involved with the song, it was nearly impossible to get them played. It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you and it has been proven time and time again that that's exactly what's happening with BTS and BTS members.

We want BTS to chart just so more of the general public can get to know this music and this group that has been free therapy for so many of us.
And the more commercial success, the more funds they can put into future projects.

    1. So it seems you confused something about RUclips ads.
Boracity was talking about ads in front of RUclips videos that are music videos, so they get streams out of random people because they have to watch the ad.
Of course, BTS music is used for example in Samsung ads and also in TV announcements, but they never paid for ads on RUclips that are solely their music videos.
    2. Yes, the English version of Like Crazy would have counted to the original one. This also applies to remixes. This is why artists sometimes release multiple versions of one song, they all count for billboard.

11:15 19:01 actually Black Pink views aren't really deleted cause they put their MV's in people & blog category not music. Which means you only need to 3 seconds to count your view as view. In BTS case you need 3 min or watch the whole MV to count as view. While it also constantly gets deleted cause it's in the music category.
Also, Blackpink agency YG Entertainment is known to use a lot of RUclips ads to inflate their groups views.

I see BTS pushed by all the big shady ppl in America. I NEVER see any other kpop group pushed out to the masses. I think the industry will inevitably kick BTS to the curb with its members solo stuff 1) bc of their fandom. When you constantly scream victim, no one will want to touch your stuff, and 2) aside from the solo stuff, BTS hasn't put anything out that I've seen recently. You can't pimp something that's not there.
I know starting out, they had a tough time in the US, mainly bc of the language barrier...but when you turn on the TV and only see one Korean group (even though US fans are just now catching on en masse), you have to ask why...then conversely, their fans say they get zero recognition. I hope more kpop groups can be mainstreamed here.
The music industry side of it is never going to push anyone they cannot control. They have no reason to do so, bc they're not making money off of it. If performers cannot speak English, they will only be pushed by artists that have a monetary gain in their success. Any foreign performer will face those same obstacles. It is a cutthroat business...so any artist should bring their A game.

Hmm I don't know if you and her are talking about the same Adds... Bc from what you said no. There is difference in adds.
There are band that have adds like video, meaning you play some YT video and adds starts playing and it isn't really an product but an add in form of the MV, this is what she is thinking about when she say adds.
Yes, BTS have their songs in product adds like you said, but this dosen't give views, so this products adds are there, but BTS never use their MV as a add.
Maybe you didn't get one yet like that but the longer you watch kpop content you will get one or if you have premium then not, but believe me I was shocked when I first got me first mv add and tge best thing is therr id mo info who it is, it may seems weird but usually it is thirth party - some promotion company...
But I get what you are saying and make your own opinion, with time you will also have more info and see more.
And yes I agree with spme points you are makining.
But it isn't simply conspiry theory, there are statistics that really show a lot wrong going inside, but like you said there is a lot of bands that have bad treatment... But with big band like BTS it easier to see when numbers are weird.
But you points are valid and like you said it is something wirth looking into in general.
Boracity have a lot interesting video's some say they are negative towards another groups but I would say they simply say fact, when she uses statistics it is hard to say it is simply negativity. When she says opinion she say it is her opinion and I think it is fair. I never see her essey videos as negative.

The point though, is that BTS are not getting recognized with era-defining Grammys the way that they would be if they allowed themselves to be bought by the western industry. The English-speaking music industry says that's because they are just not good enough. But if you listen to all the songs they were up against, and watch their performance videos, that is a very big question indeed. And frankly, this whole issue has a big impact on how culture and history are shaped and remembered.
