I disagree. I really like CompTIA and ISC2 certs. They aren't the end all be all, but they are a great way to learn theoretical Knowledge, terms, and definitions. I agree with you on CEH though Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Kyser, I kinda have the impression that if you wanna work in this field of cybersecurity you need to be able to afford those certs. I assume that maybe you can learn those concepts somewhere for free, but to actually land a job, I'm not sure how to showcase my knowledge to the person that's gonna hire me. That's why my idea is to try to get hired as a web developer, because at least I have some projects to showcase to my potential employer, raise some money, get the certs, and then attempt to transition careers, what do you think? Thank you.
I'll answer this question for my 1st Q&A episode of The Hacker's Cache. That episode will release Nov 20th. I will reply to this question in detail. Stay Tuned
The CISSP is 100% worth it. It compliments any cybersecurity role. It's the most in demand cybersecurity certification and everyone recognizes it and respects it. The biggest needle mover cert depends on the role you want to get into. For Pentester it's OSCP. For GRC roles, it's CISSP. For Incident Responder Roles, you want OSIR or eCIR, for Cybersecurity analyst, you want a SOC Cert like OSDA, CDSA, or PSAA (Formerly PJSA). Look at job posting for the roles you want, and you will see what certs employers are looking for.
All Comptia, ISC2 and the CEH falls under this category.

Do you still like the CISSP in 2024/2025? Would you say that’s the biggest needle mover out of all the certs to get job offers?
