    A bit off topic but, did highlander regiments wear kilts in winter despite freezing cold, snow and temperatures way below 0°C? Thanks in advance

      Yes, the kilt was worn all year round, despite the snow. The only time trousers were issued to a Highland unit due to cold was the day before the Battle of Arras in 1917, when they were issued to the 6th Black Watch who refused to wear them anyway!
